I recently bought one of those Emeril Pasta and beyond pasta makers and yesterday made my first batch of homemade manicotti.
The cheese mix was slightly off but overall it was a great success.
Breakfast just now was reheated manicotti, breakfast sausage, and a mostly milk smoothie, on my back deck overlooking San Jose mountain.
When breakfast is such a success, it makes you wonder why do anything else?

Last night wife and I chowed down on take out Chinese food: House Sizzling Platter, General Tso Chicken, and rice.

We bought it from the usual source, the best in our area.

It's good to find a place with big portions, fresh ingredients, and consistently very high quality food.

No, it ain't in Las Vegas; I wonder which Chinese restaurant is the best in Sin City?

.......and then crush them up and put them in your dish - whatever it might be - that it will become instantly more flavorful

It's the salt that does it and the crunch. All you're really doing is adding more salt because a potato chip without salt doesn't taste like anything. Like somebody else mentioned it's an old trick of putting crushed potato chips or crushed saltine crackers on a dish. You can even make a fake apple pie out of saltine crackers that tastes almost like the real thing

This is John Pinette's famous comedy bit from the 1980s on Las Vegas buffets. Especially Chinese buffets. He probably couldn't do it today because it's not politically correct. It gets funnier every time I see it.

I've had a lot of luck with mixing different sauces together

I bought an Asian sauce called Sukiyaki which was too spicy for me

I mixed it with a good quality Russian and a good quality Ranch dressing

I thought it was gonna suck but actually it was great

sauces can make a big difference in the enjoyment you get from your food

"Cava" is a fairly new Mediterranean chain with 88 locations on the east coast, and in Texas and CA

they make eating healthy a little bit exciting

first you get a bowl either of salad or rice or pita

then you can choose and add up to 3 different kinds of hummus or dips - free with your bowl

then you choose a protein - beef, lamb, chicken or falafels

then you can choose from about 11 different veggies - comes free with your bowl

then you add a dressing

it all comes to about $12.00 - for me it's big enough for 2 meals

I like it quite a bit
