On a bed of ??????.

I assume you're talking about the yellow-and-brown object they're placed on. That's a plate. (Crate & Barrel Sol collection.)

sometimes I want chili and it's pretty hard to find good chili
I found these beans at the grocery and although they don't call it chili that's basically what it is
and they are very good - the other chili from a can that I've tried has ranged from mediocre to real bad
all you need to do is add some tasty ground beef and you have a very good chili

Depends on sugar content and our patience levels. It might be like mining hi-test V8 with ordinary V8. Or diluting cherry juice.

my better half marinated whole chicken wings overnight in McCormick taco seasoning
then slow cooked it stovetop in a covered pan with green peppers, red peppers and onions
she cooked the brown rice separately stovetop - the rice is better that way than in a rice cooker
excellent - the taste was like fajitas but better because the wings have more flavor than the chicken breasts
when I started eating Mexican food I thought it was weird that they gave you sour cream with the meat
now I like it, it works nicely with the spices

I've been back on Nutrisystem for the last six weeks, and last night had their frozen chicken fajitas for the first time. I was pretty impressed. Enough for two burrito shells, and just spicey enough to do the job. most of their food is rather bland.

I wanted a substantial snack
I took a high quality piece of bread and put some margarine on it
I heated up some Ragu spaghetti sauce in the microwave (could have used pizza sauce)
I heated the bread in the microwave for just a few seconds
I spread the sauce and some liquidy cheddar cheese on the bread

pretty damn good
doesn't compete with the great pizzas of the world
but it beat about 90% of the frozen pizzas out there

pretty strange (to me anyway)
I was in a restaurant in Paris ordering a pizza
on their menu, all of their specialty pizzas included an "oeuf" (egg) as a topping
I didn't order a specialty pizza, I ordered one with 3 toppings
and I specifically said, in French, "I don't want an "oeuf" on my pizza
I got an "oeuf" anyway

Today, and for the third time in a week, I ate General Tso's Chicken.

I've been obsessed with it since last weekend when I saw the documentary "The Search for General Tso" on Hulu.

It's not just about the chicken dish and the General himself, but also about how Chinese-American cuisine has evolved since the early 1900s.

Tonight's version was the worst it tasted like they made it in the style of Orange Chicken but used General Tso sauce ingredients but it was still pretty good.

Instant ramen with picante sauce

I also had instant ramen for my meal yesterday. Mine was a spicy chicken version. It wasn't very filling but it was just enough to hold me over until today. I believe we are eating out today at the Bootlegger restaurant and then meeting some out of state friends at Stage Door.
