Another, better link Basically a guy discovered a software flaw in a slot whereby he could get extra payout above what was intended. He and a buddy conspired to take a fortune. His defence was basically ' I put money in, pressed buttons watched flashing lights and took my winnings out: that's what one does with slot machines so i did nothing wrong' Surveilence could only confirm that that was exactly what he did. He had not hacked, modified or damaged the machines.

What someone said on another thread ( maybe on another forum?) is where you should research and maybe discuss this. If someone said that, then I expect someone else discussed it. If it wasn't this forum where it was mentioned, then don't bring it here.
It was mentioned on this forum on another thread, but I didn't want to run the risk of inadvertent hijacking, so I put my thougts on it in my thread instead. :)
Looks like the moral is they didn’t break any laws and the one guy may have actually kept his winnings. The other guy’s Roommate stole his winnings and gave it to the cops to avoid prosecution.Quote: OnceDearThere is case history of a similar situation...

Quote: RSI made $0.30 the other day at McCarran. Could've been $0.37 total, but I didn't feel brazen enough to snag the 5c and 2c.
You reckless wild man you. ;)
The customer only found out about the stolen money because she went to the Pharmacy to buy medicine and her card was declined. She was understandably alarmed when she was told she had less than $3 in her bank account. She had $7000 when she spoke to the thief employee just the other day and hadn't touched her card until the fateful day at the Pharmacy.
She was also informed that someone had went on a huge shopping spree with her bank account information for nearly $7000 at a store she had never even heard of.
She put two and two together and rightfully surmised that the call center thief stole her money.
IIRC the thief had a Criminal record for Fraud even before being hired at the call center and in my educated theory should never had been hired at a bank call center with access to many customers' financial information in the first place. Luckily the innocent victim was fully reimbursed and the thief was fired, arrested, and booked. The thief had the remorseless and audacious gall to grin from ear to ear in her mugshot! SMH!
Even before seeing this horrible story, I thought while giving my personal information to that random call center employee on the other line,"What's to stop this bank call center employee from using my financial information to steal money from me?
Quote: MrVShe's smiling because her dream has come true: now the gov't will feed, house and clothe her for free.
Yep, that's her! Look at that huge remorseless grin in her mugshot after stealing almost $7000 from an innocent customer! Sickening! Disgusting! Whatever word is worse! In fact, sickening AND disgusting
John Lennon
Paul Mccartney
Quote: PokerGrinderI’ll just leave these two names here:
John Lennon
Paul Mccartney
Ill be honest, I never found Lennon to be a great singer. He wrote some good stuff, but his voice was never particularly good in my opinion.
All Paul songs are brilliant though.
Quote: NathanSo in real life, in a real world casino, on Roulette,I pretended to play $50 on 16 and pretended to put $10 on the 2:1 column(I had lost my freeplay). Lo and behold, 16 showed up! How much money would I have won had I been playing with real money?
Nathan, try to figure this out yourself using the rules of the game and the payouts involved. I'm sure someone(s) will give you the answer you want, but if you show some initiative, I'm sure more people would be willing to help. No guarantees on that though. Good luck.

I went to good old Google and it appears that a straight up single number bet pays 35 to 1 plus the extra 2:1 ,so in my hypothetical example, I would get around $1900. Did I calculate correctly?

I don't know anything about Roulette so hopefully someone else will chime in to answer your question.
Quote: MaxPenThink she said only $10 on the column
I did say $10 on the column but I thought that $10 would add a $100 to the winnings.

Column pays 2-1, if you are talking about a street which covers 3 numbers that pays 11-1 or a 6-line which pays 5-1 and you guessed it covers 6 numbers.

Thanks for the explanation, Pokergrinder! I actually thought that the 2:1 thing was just extra juice for choosing the right number. Is there a roulette term for choosing all 36 inside numbers plus all 15 outside choices? I lost .50 cents on a 15 dollar bet doing an all the way bet like this one. I highly doubt that it is called an all the way bet, ;)
Yes it’s called a guaranteed losing bet. Lose a little if it’s not green. Lose it all if it’s green.Quote: NathanThanks for the explanation, Pokergrinder! Quote: GWAEnathan, Imagine if you would have put 25k imaginary dollars on it. You would be theoretically rich.
What’s the difference between theory and reality?
A boy once asked his dad that question. The father said the best way to explain it is with an exercise. He told the boy to ask his mother if she’d sleep with the neighbor for $1,000,000. The boy asked his mom, she said she would, and the boy returned to his dad and said she said yes.
The father told him to ask his sister the same question. He did. He came back and told his dad the same thing, again, that his sister said she’d sleep with the neighbor for $1,000,000. Stumped by the purpose of these questions, the boy asked his dad what this has to do with reality vs theory.
The father said, “Theoretically we live with two millionaires, but in reality we live with two sluts.”

Just curious , when you placed this bet, what number were you hoping the ball would land in ?

Either 16 or19. :)
Lol. ask a stupid question and get a stupid answer.Quote: NathanEither 16 or19.0:)
Sorry M & N. No offense meant
Quote: PokerGrinderEnjoy your $3.72! Is that worth busing back and forth?
Yeah, it's worth it considering i need every penny i can get.
Perhaps if you are bound and determined to gamble you could get a second job, and use only a fixed portion of that income for gambling?
You know all the AP moves. You got to play 372 straight.Quote: NathanToday is free play tuesday at hiaieah. I'm going to cycle through it once and then run with whatever is left. This is a vow, not a promise.
Mike do you mean an easy fast?
Quote: VCUSkyhawkIf you NEED every penny you can get, it sounds like you should not be gambling period. If you continue to do so when you are struggling to make ends meet then it sounds like you are an addict.
Okay, I have a confession to make. I made a slight financial mistake and am 9 days away from my paycheck. Bad combination. Luckily I have free play to tide me over.
Please let me break even today. I really need the money.
Your friend, Kentry.

Just curious: did the "mistake" involve gambling, or something else?
It might be better to say dealing with or confronting but fighting? Sometimes Dame Fortune does smile upon those who down to their last cent.Quote: MrVYeah, as you are ALWAYS fighting a negative expectation,

Well let's just say I thought I had more money than I actually did.

D'oh. Yes, that is what I meant. I think I would rather feast than fast. Funny how the two words are different by only an e.

you may be on to something. :) 239 showed up today, only one digit off. I predict that either 372 or 724 is coming up within 3 weeks. :)
