It only seems scary because there are so many bets. The good news is that you only need to understand the bets you make. My advice is go back and just focus on the Pass bet.
I only admitted to being a woman after he had already left. To be fair I had asked him what he looked like twice before the planned meeting and was ignored twice. Later that night we really got into it, considering he said he would give me a $100 Macy's gift card if I proved I was a real person. He was infuriated and claimed that he didn't owe me crap since I had him thinking I was a man. Posters on my side pointed out he ignored my request to tell me what he looked like and he owed me money since he said he wanted proof of a real person. Posters on his side pointed out he was right not to walk up to a woman when he was looking for a man. They pointed out I could have PM in private my true gender. With mod mediation, we mutually agreed that $50 was fair.
i got the $50 gift card and it had already been spent when I tried to buy some makeup! WTF! I told him off for pulling that stunt!
Recently someone pointed out to me that I should offer to meet up with WON again in real life as a woman this time and pay him $100 cash and that would reconsile the whole mess. Is this a good idea?
I didn't have any bad dealings with the man, but he should leave you alone and you should stay away from him. It's already out of control, I think you should should just pretend he doesn't exist. He should get a life and get over it. Nathan didn't bring him down, he brought himself down.Quote: NathanFellow WOV posters, we all know about the tension between WON and I. Although I Did mention I would be wearing all black and in fact was wearing all black, i on purpose omitted the very important fact of being a woman and not a man. I thought it was going to be a cute surprise. That backfired on me big time.

By the way, it's well known amongst craps players that first time woman shooters always win.
Be sure you bet big. It's only first time rolls that get this edge.
You have some strange ideas!Quote: NathanRecently someone pointed out to me that I should offer to meet up with WON again in real life as a woman this time and pay him $100 cash and that would reconsile the whole mess. Is this a good idea?
Regardless of what has gone on, or whose fault it was, what is the point of this idea?
I understand that the guy dislikes you and goes out of his way to give you grief. But so what? You aren't hiring him as a gigolo. He's not taken out a contract on you, so why would you give him $100? To get him to leave you alone or to buy his friendship? Would either succeed?
There are plenty people in this world to cultivate as friends and little value in trying to 'kiss and make up' with WON. That boat has sailed. Life's too short.
If you have $100 free, you could do something really unusual... You could send it to Dan on that other forum, in settlement of your debt of honour.* Maybe ask him to donate it to his favourite charity in (one of ) your name(s)
*Strangely, I do not recommend that until you become a bit more wealthy.

No. why would you want to meet with him? Do you think 100 will get him off your back.

I think you are just stirring the pot with this post. Obviously he can't answer you here, and this is about the 14th time you've revisited it here since it happened, with no new information. Even starting with "fellow WoVers" is a knuckle in his eye, I'm sure on purpose.
I'm not going to speak for anyone else, but I'm thoroughly sick of hearing this from you. Take it where he's still causing you grief if you must continue the grudge match. You lied to him and us, how are you surprised you're still paying the price. As am I paying, in continuing to have to moderate the both of you during your petty battles. I kill his socks when they show up, and that's all anyone can do.
Do yourself a favor, along with the rest of us. Drop it.

I had half a mind to start a brand new thread on the WON thing, but I came to my senses and used my better judgement knowing that starting a brand new thread for that would be begging for a suspension.
Wow!!! Talk about avoiding the question.Quote: NathanTo be fair, I said fellow WOV posters because I originally was going to say guys instead and changed my mind at the last second thinking saying guys might look alienating,so I went with something all inclusive. :)

Whoa. I would not expect it. I think the odds would have to be pretty bad, cannot see a motive. i'd think the odds should be between 50 and 100 to one, which would make people suspicious of making the bet.Quote: prozemaI'm not saying I want to make a bet, but if I did would anyone be interested in setting odds that Nathan and WON are the same person?

At 100 to 1, I'd be interested in throwing $10 at it.
I have thought that myself from time to time, especially these last few days. However, it cannot be so, because we have seen photo's of both of them and Nathan is a dark skinned lady and WON is a fair skinned male. I doubt it was just a difference in lighting conditions or some tricky make up. The camera never lies. lol.Quote: prozemaI'm not saying I want to make a bet, but if I did would anyone be interested in setting odds that Nathan and WON are the same person?
Besides WON and Nathan are frequently in conversation and conflict with eachother so it would be absurd for him and her to do that $;o)
In my mind, all I could do was translate this bet as Superb Owl odds. I'm not willing to take the bet, but someone else might. Now if Nathan was willing to make the bet, lol,Quote: prozemaAt 100 to 1, I'd be interested in throwing $10 at it.
Nathan, consider this an official warning to quit bringing up banned members. If you need advice, you can consult your friends via PM about it.

Agreed it would be a highly complex sock and difficult to prove.

You're seriously asking people to condone cheating and/or stealing? Trying to price the cost? Cost depends on how much you want to experience backrooming, handcuffs, or county jail.
AP is different from cheating or stealing. AP is seeing a legal opportunity to have the best of a casino game or promotion. AP is finding a weakness in casino game protection, promotions, or procedures and taking advantage of that. The casinos might not like you doing it, but that's not illegal. You could stop confusing the two.
Lowering or taking back a bet because it's lost is both cheating and stealing - it's called "pinching". Cashing "unwon" titos is stealing. Keeping money or chips you found on the floor is stealing nearly everywhere. Raising a bet amount after you've won but before the dealer pays your bet is stealing and cheating - it's called "capping". Using electronic devices to signal another player or help your betting is illegal, considered cheating. Using magnets or other mechanical devices to change the outcome of a game is cheating.
The list is long. Should be pretty obvious to any gambler what's a fair play and what is cheating or stealing, but just in case, those are a few things you should avoid doing.

Babs, I appreciate your serious answer to my serious question. Thank you. I completely agree with you that people who cash out money that they know occured as a glitch and they didn't win are straight up stealing. I was wondering how severe the casino consequences would be for this type of theft.
Take the roulette example... Let's say the house was incorrectly paying 40-1. You're telling me you wouldn't sit there all day?
Had security noticed and confronted me I suspect that I would not have been back roomed or arrested.
I'd play ignorant, admit what happened, and pleading ignorance I would use the old "finders / keepers" defense when asked why I didn't turn the money over to the casino.
Hopefully this theory will never be tested, because hey, I could be wrong.

I agree with this too. If I find a $20 on the floor, it's mine. Guess I'm a bad person. How do I sleep at night? :-)

One of my favorite BJ authors makes it a point to stop by security and ask if anyone turned in a $50 Bill he "lost". He claims it has worked on occasion.

Then never visit Pennsylvania because that law is not a good defense. Casino's have a sign by the doors telling you that it is a crime to willingly take any money or credits and that the founders keeper law is not accepted in PA. I have a picture of it somewhere on my phone but I cant find it.

Learning to Be Silent
The pupils of the Tendai school used to study meditation before Zen entered Japan. Four of them who were intimate friends promised one another to observe seven days of silence.
On the first day all were silent. Their meditation had begun auspiciously, but when night came and the oil lamps were growing dim one of the pupils could not help exclaiming to a servant: “Fix those lamps.”
The second pupils was surprised to hear the first one talk. “We are not supposed to say a word,” he remarked.
“You two are stupid. Why did you talk?” asked the third.
“I am the only one who has not talked,” concluded the fourth pupil.

I don’t but I assume it’s something gay with a hooker, a miata and a mix of Romes, DJATC and RS?
There is case history of a similar situation...Quote: NathanWhat's the worse a casino could do to a gambler for taking a payout that he or she knew actually was a lost bet? Someone mentioned on another thread that there was a Blackjack machine that had a bug in it that paid big money even when the gambler actually busted and the poster implied that APs took advantage of the undeserved payouts and the casino caught on about the glitch a week later and fixed the machine or removed it. If interrogated by casino staff, I guess a conniving AP could feign innocense and pretend to be a Rookie and claim he thought that the point of Blackjack was to beat the dealer all the time saying something like,"The Dealer has 21! I have 22! What do you mean I lost? I have more than the Dealer!"
Link to article not available to UK.
Another, better link Basically a guy discovered a software flaw in a slot whereby he could get extra payout above what was intended. He and a buddy conspired to take a fortune. His defence was basically ' I put money in, pressed buttons watched flashing lights and took my winnings out: that's what one does with slot machines so i did nothing wrong' Surveilence could only confirm that that was exactly what he did. He had not hacked, modified or damaged the machines.
Locate and digest that article, even if you have to google it because of non-working link..
What someone said on another thread ( maybe on another forum?) is where you should research and maybe discuss this. If someone said that, then I expect someone else discussed it. If it wasn't this forum where it was mentioned, then don't bring it here.
