Is that crossing the line? :/
Hi Nathan,
I guess you are referring to the recent 'Writers wanted' thread.
Nothing wrong with greeting a newbie.
In that instance, any of us, admins or members, might have suspected that the newbie was not genuine. However, many of the more longstanding members would have been able to figure out her legit connection to the forum. Those members would not have posted what you did. I would not have on this occasion.
Some members who might have been inclined to pull you down for your post, might think their long standing membership here gives them more authority than you. That doesn't mean they are right, they might just have more knowledge, experience or perspective.
.
Many of us see OBVIOUS spammers and reply scathingly that 'You might not be here long' But that's a pretty pointless exercise as it's just adding to a whole thread that might get deleted.
We mods are approachable by PM ( even me ), if a post or poster, seriously concerns you.
It might amuse you that I was nearly nuked for my first post here...

It is a post like the above why I advocated for your banning. Nuclear option. But I hope you are having a nice day.

Weigh in? Ok.
Your example above should generate a PM to an admin and no response, as that person will be getting nuked shortly, as will that thread.
Your response to avaj, whether she was in blue or green at the time, was embarrassing If you had a doubt, you could have sent a PM to an admin.
Your efforts to admin on here via posts like that are not welcome. Please consider what OD and I have said about it as a warning.
I don't know if you have a flag button. They've changed that function, and only some people have it. If you have one, and you find an inappropriate post, that's what it's there for.

Or just wait. Do nothing. Somebody will
take care of it. It's not your concern. The
world as you know it will not end if
you just wait.

The flag button (for me) only comes up on posts from new accounts.

It seems that the flag shows up mostly/only for a new poster, at least that's what I'm seeing.
I mostly don't even see it, only looking if the post looks to be pure spam.

I bought a charging cord for about $7 when I could have used my charging dock I bought for $1 at Dollar Tree. I had used my debit card but chose "Credit," instead of a pin. I returned the charge cord 2 days later and instead of it being given to me back in cash(Returns at Walgreen's gives debit refunds in cash), it is being refunded as credit and I have to wait about 3 business days to get the credit back! Drats!
Hopefully, those types of problems will be resolved one day when you are running this joint. ;-)

I dislike using Debit. If someone hacks your credit card, you can usually get all the bad charges removed. But if they hack your debit card and spend money from your bank account, the money is gone and you are out of luck.

A quintessential Nathan’s Corner post.
Back in the old days this would’ve been a new thread titled “Ridiculuous Things that happen When returning Things”

Reminds me of a woman who told me that she used a Wells Fargo ATM and forgot to take her card back after getting her money. She said some creep stole her money(Wells Fargo years ago would say,"Are you done?" And if you said,"No" they would allow you to continue your transaction and didn't even ask you to reenter your PIN! This was horrible practice! At least Chase Bank makes you reenter your PIN, which is wise)So the creep said,"No!" And stole a bunch of money from her. When she reported the theft,(Presumably got a text alert for money she didn't withdraw or something) WF told her she was out of luck because the creep was wearing a Hoodie and looking down the entire time. Ouch. They should have reimbursed her if they clearly saw she obliviously walked away and some shady person wearing a Hoodie stole her money.
Just a word to the wise. Playing advanced Lottery tickets is key. I played 819 on Saturday for both pulls. I kind of forgot about it when it lost on both pulls. Lo and behold, 918(And on a side note is just 1 number away from my 931 numbers for this morning.)came up today on Tuesday. Crap!
If I had just played it for 3 advance days for both pulls, I would have had an extra 40! Also, play extended advance Lottery tickets. I played a week's worth of 219 box and 863, thinking that the numbers had a very good chance of coming up in that week despite my gut feeling telling me to play 2 weeks worth rather than just a week. I didn't heed that gut feeling. 219, 129, and 683 showed up in the week I didn't cover! Oh crap!
The real kicker is, the day that 683 showed up, I vaguely mused about 863 being the next winning draw. I was thinking 860 would be the more sure thing considering that 8060 and 8600 had shown up consecutively, as win it again numbers(It's extremely rare to have the same 4 numbers show up back to back and especially with 2 numbers being the same), so I thought 860 was destined to show up. I mentally kicked myself when 683 showed up instead. Drats!
That has to be the most nonsensical nonsense you have ever posted. I feel like Soopoo right now, except without the fancy medical degree and three point shooting acumen and stuff.

I'm glad the lotto entertains you, but I don't think the wise play it. You're only getting a 50% or so return. The wise skip a 98% game to find a 99+% game. They watch for .5% advantage on blackjack. They don't play this.

No. Perhaps the most nonsensical thing I have ever posted was "Remarks that slot players have made about slot symbols?" Even I pointed out it came across as silly. Advice to play advance tickets is actually good advice IMHO.
Why do you have a beard in FL? Who are you trying to fool in FL about your sexual preference?Quote: MaxPenNathan, if you get that Nathan's Daily Lotto Picks thread up and running it will blow the doors off this joint. 2 threads in the Top 5. Can't wait. I have a beard in Florida ready to pounce on them hot numbers.
Quote:Can you tell if you’re a beard, or if you’re wearing one? Answer these three simple questions to find out.
Do you maintain unfulfilling relationships because they benefit you socially or economically? Ask yourself if you’re willing to trade fulfillment and authenticity for social/economic benefits. If the answer is yes: whatever/whoever is providing those benefits is your beard, regardless of whether either of you have consciously acknowledged it.
Do you hide your authentic self from others because you fear ostracism or worse if you were to reveal your real self? If the answer is yes, you’re likely cultivating a beard. If the beard is another person, do you have the integrity to let them know you’re not entirely revealed, and they’re a part of your unfolding process of increasing self-awareness and responsibility? If not, it’s not really self-awareness or responsibility you’re trying to develop in a “safe space”, it’s the benefits of appearing to be something you’re not.
Are you dependent on or benefitting from someone else’s inauthenticity? Are you part of a successful pop duo who knows your partner would rather be playing jazz but plays pop because you’ve made him feel obligated to support you? If this sounds familiar, it’s the plot to “The Fabulous Baker Boys”. The less talented but married with children and slog-hardworking Beau Bridges is dependent on / benefitting from super-talented but both lazy and loyal brother Jeff Bridge’s inauthenticity. You would think that because Beau benefits from Jeff’s inauthenticity, that would make Jeff the beard. But actually because Jeff’s greatest fear is finding out if he’s really all that good or not on his own, he allows Beau to leverage guilt and keep him playing the pop circuit, preventing him from testing the limits of his talent and his true self in jazz clubs. Here we see that Beau is actually Jeff’s beard.

I didn't even notice that. I just read "beard" as "friend". Then saw your post. Then figured he did a typo and fixed it....then I went back and it still says "beard".

Max are you coming out of the closet on wov?
I've been thinking about the numbers you pick in the lottery lately and I think it's a pretty interesting subject. You see people frequently who play keno or roulette have some sort of a system and they change their numbers frequently while others always pick the same numbers. I decided to start a thread on the subject for such a discussion. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/other-games/31021-what-are-your-lucky-numbers/
I'd love to hear your thoughts everyone, especially Nathan.

You see gayness in everything. I wonder why?.......😒🤔
Need to figure this out because gays are not allowed in the bunker. Nothing against it or anything. Just the rules. There are always rules.👀
Quote: NathanAnyone know the name of this movie? I only remember snippets of it. Two best friends go on vacation to Asia I think it was. One of the friends falls in love with a guy who turns out to be part of an illegal drug cartel or something like that. He gets them arrested, and when one of the girls asked how long their prison sentence is the judge replies,"33 years each." At the end, one of the friends says she is willing to serve both her own sentence and her friend's sentencing, so that her friend can be able to walk free, so 66 years in prison. She is allowed to do so and she is last seen looking out the prison window as her friend leaves the prison area. The really sad part is that she looked to be in her 20's so she would have a release date when she is in her 80's/early 90's and most likely will die in prison of old age. I cannot remember the name of this movie. I saw it in the late 90's or very 2000's.

I don’t make the rules; I just enforce them.
I’d think someone like you would have multiple bunkers around town. And maybe a few more that are out of town. Maybe one in Laughlin, Tonopah, Reno, and Pahrump.
