this can be done in your head without a calculator or pen and paper, perhaps you saw my earlier post on that?

a matter of the radius squared

9^2, or 81 ... versus ... 6^2 doubled , or 72 ; so the large size wins this one

the other factor, pi, does not need to be crunched out

That is a cool trick.

Unfortunately my brain is nearly incapable of even the most basic mental math.

I posted the question because this went Viral on Twitter a few days ago and the internet seemed to lose their marbles:

A large is still "more pizza," which is what the question was.

That's my point. Not only is it more, it's almost always a lot more because of how pizzas are made.

And no, we don't buy breadsticks from pizza vendors.

But you lose even more parity on a pizza, because unless you like bare crust or order a special one, there's a 1-2 in rind on most pizzas. In our house, with 2 dogs, those are known as "pizza bones", on the rare occasion the dogs get people food. So the dogs vote for 2 mediums, the people vote for 1 large. Ymmv.

Pizza bones is cute, I have never heard that. Our dogs eat everything whether we give it to them or not. I caught the puppy standing all four legs up on the counter last weekend looking for scraps or anything that we left out. He at the whole loaf of bread.

I had complained recently about the cost of fees when buying tickets. Found a site called tickpick.com that doesnt charge a fee. Bought 4 tickets to Pitt football game today for $12 each and no fees. Was going to buy the same tickets from StubHub and they were going to be $86 after fees. So I paid $48 at the other site

Your cat is probably safe as long as it doesn't come into contact with the local police.😀

That's good to know. Yeah, between processing fees, service fees I've even heard of printing fees (what, it's digital?) It gets crazy.

I was thinking about going to a local minor league hockey game last week. Tickets for nose-bleeds behind the goal were listed at $10 on the website, but they want another $6.50 in fees! 65% of the ticket price in fees? Ridiculous!

We ended up not going last week, but when we do pick a game to see, I will buy from the box office to see if the fees are less.

Good point about the crust ratios, Babs.

We went to a pizza joint near work last week. They have 10" and 14" pizzas. for an all-meat pizza the 10" was $16, but the 14" was $19. Three dollars more for essentially twice the pizza!

BTW, you can't even say the words "pizza bones" in our house without getting our dog crazed. I think we have turned her into a carb addict! We do make her work for them, though. She has a pretty extensive trick repertoire!

I just painted my trailer blue. I just recalled my bookkeeper was scolded by a coworker to paint her toe nails red which is his gang colors. Oh well.

We had 20 shots fired in our backyard about a week ago when I was outside. I didn’t call the cops. Because they never give a case number the last three times.

The gang tried to steal my 2015 Subaru. I had it in the dealer for repairs. I had a hard time finding it. I found it in the tow yard claimed as abandoned. The dealer conveniently lost the keys. I researched about lost keys. I was advised to rekey the locks because the vehicle has high chance of theft. I believe the gang members are working at the dealership.

I’ve been told all my life. If someone really wants your boat etc. They will get it. Well, we have a lot of scumbag gang members who steal not out of need but hatred. I believe my brother was murdered as a hate crime. It should have been capital murder. But the cops were indifferent and ruled it as a suicide on day 1, the way we criticize other country’s cops’ indifference to tourists murders.

My sister and her two daughters were murdered the day after she told her husband that she is moving to Houston to start over because he was sleeping with her coworker. Cops ruled my sister, my 2 nieces as suicide. My aunt who raised her and was never called to the crime scene pleaded for an investigation to no avail. The high school sweet heart she married almost shot my aunt. But my cousin dove into the gun.

An ex cop told me that maybe my brother in law has cop relatives that thwarted the investigation.

I went to Philly for the second time. I've made an effort to try several highly rated cheesestakes. The only one that really knocked my socks off was Woodrow's.

I think I actually prefer the pork sandwich, which also seems to be a Philly thing. I only had two, but I loved them both. Does this make me a bad person?

I know you said you really didn't care that your blood pressure runs an average 180+. But why take it out on your dog? Their lives are already short compared to ours, do you want to bury him early? Don't feed your dog that crap.

I meant to ask you about your cat, but then decided not to bring up what was surely a sad topic for you.

By the way, there's better food than Sheba and Blue. Much better. For one, Orijen. Expensive, but not really, it is your baby. Don't scrimp on your baby. Acana is good too.

Read labels. So many dog and cat foods have wheat, corn, corn is especially bad for dogs. Look for "rosemary extract", there are so many brands, "top" brands, that add rosemary extract. FOR NO GOOD REASON. It is NOT good for pets. Google it.

If you're not a friend of a gang, you're a potential enemy to them.

Gangs don't generally take control of an area overnight. There's usually a period of time -- when good people did nothing and all that.

Later on, even the good people are under pressure to protect the gang for their own safety. Or they are targeted.
There's no secret. Just know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.

When I graduated college and moved back about 15 years ago. Gang graffiti wall high across the whole side of building. Gang detective takes pics. We thought nothing of it. Just regular graffiti.

15 years ago, I was working 60 hours a week filling in for no shows for 5 locations. An employee said that he was forced into a gang. He said “what can you do.” Then he chastised me saying when am I going to work. I’ve been on call working seven days a week, half double shifts. I was dumbfounded and I didn’t say anything.

We fired that worker /gang member. This is retaliation. I was nice thru the ordeal as an owner has to be. My managers reprimanded him with write ups. No one got verbally mad at him. I was a bit surprised that he was surprised to be fired. I thought that 1/2 of him wanted to be fired. He once put in his notice to quit. He convinced me that he didn’t expect to last long. His maintenance skill were very lacking. I was using him as an errand /chore person. He felt intimidated by the job. And even his coworkers/gang members laughed at him trying to fix stuff. I saw him cursing down the hallway. My bookkeeper told me what happened. I guess, when he figured a way to steal food, he didn’t want to leave anymore. Other workers said I did the right thing to fire him. But only one person was willing to rat him out before he was fired. Afterwards, others came clean about him stealing.

My parents underestimate the hatred humans can grow. We should leave. My parents are old, not all there, naive, ignorant of other worlds.

Now that you mentioned complacency. If I look back I believe several shooting happened to other innocent ppl across town not related to our case. Because the gang members thought the cops don’t care seeing that ours didn’t make the news.

IMHO, you have more than fulfilled your duty to your parents.

They had their lives. If they are asking you to squander the prime of your life, they are in the wrong.

Tell them you are leaving in X amount of time. It's up to them if they want to sell the business or let it fall to ruin after you leave.

Actually do whatever you want, obviously. Just telling you from an outside perspective, they are screwing you and you'd be doing nothing wrong in reclaiming your life.

You are right about 10 or 20 years ago. But my parents are 78 and 87 now. Even my psychologists are stumped. I told my mom that my dad destroyed everything in my life. He didn’t let me see the cops after my brother died. The cops convinced my dad that my bro committed suicide bc he was depressed. But embalmer/ex cop didn’t find gun powder on the wound. Detective said that he believed there was at least 2 in the truck and he had his dominant hand over his heart. He thwarted my friends from me. He exploded when I told him 10 years ago I wanted to find another job. I would have stayed out of town since I was 19 if I knew I had a choice.

But on positive , I found a new job fixing AC’s , plumbing, electrical, mowing for my parents. I actually enjoy that.

If I was 19 again and knew what was going to happen. I would have told myself to stay out of town.

Now, is different. I want to protect my parents. I save them roughly up to 350 k per year in repairs. The accountant wants me to start billing them as a separate business. And To spread the income tax to lower tax brackets. But I suspect, he feels I deserve it.

Also, I save them on rental property maintenance costs. It’s as big as running my own co. Because I have a steady stream of repairs. It’s a gamble whether the probate will turn over everything to me after they die. I’ve been told by psychic twice that I won’t see my inheritance. So I’m already mentally prepared.

Because he knew details about my bros death and social life. Like info about my life that is way off the chart of normal. Also, how my bros last meeting with me I have to let go because it went wrong. Up to the reading, I never shared with anyone that last one.

Sounds like they have plenty of money. You can't take it with you.

Do they value additional money for themselves more, or their child's happiness more?

If they value money more, to hell with them.

If they value your happiness more, they would want you to get out of this situation, if they were lucid and properly understood everything.

Was sick of eating turkey leftovers so today I went to a local hot dog joint to get a healthy chili-dog with onions, a split (1/2 fries; 1/2 onion rings) and an ice cold loganberry. When the youngster working the cash register handed me my change I saw something I have not seen in circulation in a long time - a Mercury dime. I was holding the change in my open hand somewhat stunned looking at the dime. The kid working the cash register looked at me thinking I was mad and politely said, Sir if you do not want that Canadian dime I can give you a US dime. I said, no I am fine with this "Canadian dime". The date was 1937 no mint mark. Probability worth about a $1.10. Haven't gotten a silver coin in change in a long time, in a long time.

Should have asked him if anyone paid in dimes recently. Haven't had it happen in a long time but have had it before a few times when kids have taken the real money and went shopping with it.
Right now that's a $1.25 dime.

They're pretty much all fake.
If they could do what they
claim, they would all be
multi billionaires instead
of making nickles and dimes
doing readings.

For a second I finally thought you saw the light about your roulette "method"/ system.

What you said definitely applies to that.

I love it when Penn and Teller and
the Amazing Randi bust psychics
for the frauds they are. Houdini
started doing that 100 years ago.

There's a movie where a guy
can see 2 min into the future
and he gets caught when he
plays in the casino. It's actually
a pretty good movie.

Stars Nick Gage. Entertaining. Its pure escapism, however.

I am utterly shocked that anyone on a gambling forum would ever seriously embrace the notion of psychic efficacy. I am firmly in the Amazing Randi camp and have been since high school. Always laughed at these 'psychic fair' signs. If the people were psychic why would they need the signs?

This one percent are real is as equally absurd as one hundred percent are real.

Thes days psychics can also Google you if they know your name ahead of time.

Even if not, they could have a partner doing it after you arrive.

I went to a fair. I paid cash to see a psychic. Took a ticket, sat down with psychic who didn’t know my name. Unless he has a hidden facial recognition camera that can tap into my history through Nexis Lexis. He Is the most booked psychic there.

That same psychic gave one name. Not a common name. It was the name of a co worker that was hanging out with my bro before he died. The worker disappeared when my bro died and haven’t seen him since for 25 years. He didn’t go to the funeral. The worker’s file is missing. There are more examples.

Houdini
started doing that 100 years ago.

Houdini was impressed with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (writer creator of Sherlock Holmes) until after meeting him and found out he was being taken in by spiritualists.

Houdini was so well-versed in studying various magic tricks that he could catch them faking something and reproduce it himself if need be.

It might be hard to believe, (but probably not if you pay attention around here) Houdini couldn't shake the faith some people had in spiritualists even with his expertise.

Of course, I wouldn't deny someone who convinces a lot of people they are psychic and makes good money at it, probably has a very good skill set, and also some natural ability at reading people for clues.
