I am guessing GCA.
Clever double-use of the word "evil" as in "empire."Quote: mipletQuote: WizardThis video has something to do with the announcement. One possible explanation is I bet my sites on this rope climbing
I'm evil so I did some Googling.
Oh and about the vid....you are one of those guys that looks better in a shirt. Lol. That's not meant as an insult, well maybe a little (playfully). You really pull off the t-shirt look well. You should stick to that look. :)
Quote: RogerKintThats funny, I was thinking the exact opposite. I hope I look half that good in my 40s.
I think he said he is in his 50th year (49), so he looks ok. I was just playing. Hey at least I didn't see any zipper scars on his chest or anything that some of us 20 years younger than him have. Talk about a reason to keep your shirt on. :(

Quote: MoscaCelery.
speaking of celery. I have never been a big fan of celery other than with peanut butter on it. A little while back I wanted a healthy snack at work so I took celery and cut the pieces very small. Not salad small but smaller than you would use to put peanut butter on. I would say maybe half inch. Anyways, whenever it is cut that small it does not become stringy in your mouth and actually makes it easy to eat. Very good healthy snack.

I've been eating it almost every day as a snack. It's great if you cut it about 4-5 inches long, but then only 1/4" or so wide so it is very small strips.

All very true re: celery. I highly recommend a bit of cream cheese spread in it. It's also great in hamburger/rice casserole, with mushrooms, onions, and black olives, then cashews sprinkled on top.
re: the illustration. My ex absolutely loved this type of illustration, the Betty Page stuff and all the rest. Very sweet and sexy stuff from the 40's and early 50's. This one was so perfect for him I sent it on, thanks Mr. V!

I never understood the still being friends with an ex thing. If I saw any of my exes choking on food I would not save any of them.

Enjoy. Lileks is best in small doses, but the doses are tasty.

I am here to make the official announcement. The Wiz has decided to come to Prescott Az and work for me. He is now a graveyard card dealer. This sites ownership has been transferred to me as well and I will be converting it into a all encompassing dice control site. Finally, all banned and nuked members are welcome back, with most of them having already been offered moderator positions via email.
Thanks for your support during this transition.

well in my case I was referring to exes from dating and not marriage. Happily married now, and I always say I am to lazy to divorce.

Just when I was losing interest in the whole thing. How many positions will our latest banned female member assume?

I'm still good friends with some of my exes. I don't see any reason not to be... it's not like they magically transform into bad people just because we don't want to date each other.

several of my exes turned into Satan! It's hard to be friends with Satan.

It is funny how an x never remarries as long as the alimony is coming in and should it ever run dry than voila. Saints be praised a new love interest suddenly emerges.
I like what Tina Turner had to say about the matter, "whats love got to do with it?" What's love but a second hand emotion?
Quote: beachbumbabsWell, in my case, we had husband/wife issues that made us unsuited after 10 years of trying, while not permanently damaging the essential friendship and mutual respect we had for each other from day 1. So, after a period of a couple of years of healing, we managed to reconnect as friends, much to the relief of many other friends who didn't want to lose either of us. We still don't socialize, living a couple hundred miles apart, but can still enjoy the best of each other while not having to live with the worst. For us, it works.
A very mature and sensible way to deal with things. I've known situations where "missing the ex" means the emotions were so strong that even the trigger finger got affected by it. I've also know situations where the ex and the current spouse each meet and share a sunset and a bottle of a California wine. There is a wide range and nothing is worth going to prison for, but so many "ex's" focus on bitterness and revenge that their life of freedom from the marriage is simply a different sort of hell for them.

Quote: 1BBDid you know that there is a Wizard Ave and a Wizard Wand St in North Las Vegas?
There's a bunch of streets in Vegas with names -- some old, and likely forgotten entities. In some not so great areas too.
LV Caesars trespassed Doctor Slade who lost $40,000. The doctor hired Nersesian to sue Caesars. Counselor Nersesian argued the Innkeeper case of SLADE VS. CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT before Justice Hardesty.
Click this link to listen to Nersesian's arguments : http://supreme.nvcourts.gov/Supreme/Arguments/Recordings/SLADE_VS__CAESARS_ENTERTAINMENT/
I hope that Nersesian will win this case. If he wins, I'll move to LV after I'm retired. I'll camp out in LV casinos permanently!
He has high income and he loses. His mouthpiece is right: casinos should want him to be there and not ban him from medical conferences that take place at associated casinos even if there is a difference between the legal ways in which casino entities may be related and the public's perception of the ways various casinos are owned or operated through a common scheme.
a) 1 out 50 chance? or
b) 100% chance by the year of 2024 when the casino market is saturated everywhere in USA? or
c) a snow ball in hell chance!
