Now you think there is a fun story. Nope. I have my head in the wheel well trying to bust a bolt free using all my might and the wrench slips off. My hand went right to my nose and then my glasses. Broke the nose piece off and gave myself a bloody nose. It hurt like hell. I can still taste the blood/cartilage or whatever.
That is one of the reasons why box end wrenches exist.😂😂
Hope you recover quickly though.
This is where the movie and tv series Broken Arrow was based. Cochise and his Churrichua Apaches evaded the U.S. Calvary in these mountains, slipping over the border . Lots of history in the area. Tombstone is about twenty miles north of here.
Looking forward to getting there, not so much the ten hour drive.

It's like some of these programmers make things complicated on purpose in order to preserve their job.
Local gas station chain just updated their logo... yes just their logo. Now they are replacing all of the awnings, pumps, signs, and everything that had old logo. How much did this cost them to do? 200 locations, maybe millions?
Quote: GWAEIt's like some of these programmers make things complicated on purpose in order to preserve their job.
About 7-8 years ago, I wrote a script (~2-3k lines of code) that basically acted as a bridge between a program that was running on the user's computer and a set of programs that were running on a few servers. Given that the user had access (via script) to the programs running on the servers, they had to enter their username & password (not the one they were expecting since they'd have 2 different accounts) into the script file as well as put the file in a specific folder. Downloading the script was kind of confusing, too.
Since it was at least mediocre-ly challenging to set up, I had to figure out a way to make it automatically update, especially since new features were going to get added down the road. It's not like I even knew what kind of features were going to get added, since much of it depended on what the end-users wanted and I had to work jointly with 2 other guys who were doing the programming on the server (just because they could add a new feature, doesn't mean I could on my end, and vice versa).
The most difficult part was figuring out how to make the SOB automatically update (AND RESTART PROPERLY!) on its own, without requiring the user to re-enter his username & password, while being seamless and not intrusive. It took a while but I finally got it all to work. Released it, everything going smoothly, and was so excited I got the auto-update in the code. People liked it and all that saying how much they loved me and I was the best person ever (okay, maybe not that far), but they did enjoy it. I thought surely someone would mention how cool it is that it'd automatically update when a new version got released.......but nope! Not a single person knew or cared enough to mention it. :(
Oh, and I'm sure you've been wondering this whole time -- yes, it all worked as intended and none of the updates got botched. Although it was kinda funny to release an update in the early morning, then see a bunch of people's posts saying how their script was now doing other (positive) things and they had no idea it got updated. O . O

What kind? How do you like it?Quote: GWAEGot a new nose hair trimmer today
Seriously, I think my nose hair is the fastest growing hair on my body.
I've had several circular trimmers that performed less than satisfactory. But if I don't cut them back, they will join up with my mustache in 2-3 weeks, kinda gross.
The best product I've found for trimming nostril overgrowth is a petite little vaginal hair trimmer, with a flat blade/trim surface. But it's getting tired and occasionally just pulls out a few nose hairs rather than cutting them, man talk about making your eyes water.
What choo got?

I bought a new razor on Amazon. Had a ton of good reviews and was only $30. It had an attachment for nose hair. Used it one time and it pull a long hair they may have been attached to my brain. Boy didn't hurt. So far it sucks. Hoping it just wasnt fully charged. I will update you later tonight after a few hours of charging

Mine too.
Ear hair on the other hand... If I didn't trim it regularly I could probably start braiding it after a few weeks.

Oh there's more where that came from
A friend was telling about long distance driving. He says "you know how when you start dozing off" and you open the window, turn up the radio and stiff arm the wheel to stay awake for a few more miles? I said sure, I know those. He say's I found a new trick. About the time your eyelids get heavy, he says reach up and jerk a few nose hairs out, makes your eyes water but wakes you up for a few miles. lolQuote: HullabalooI guess I'm lucky because my nose hair doesn't grow much at all.

That's how I trim mine.
Get you a rubber band from the bank, the ones they keep the stacks together with. They're big enough to fit 'round your head without squeezing too much and giving you a headache. Once your eyes get dry and start crossing, reach up and give 'er a snap. A good, 12" wallop will give you a solid hour, easy.
Forehead is best. Mind the eyes.
Now in Az., you'd probably get a traffic ticket for "distracted driving". lolQuote: FaceThat's how I trim mine.

No. The magic is in the "sting". Wrist might hurt, but it's merely annoying. You gotta get that sting that transcends pain. Like a trailer hitch to the shin, just not as debilitating. It dumps something in your blood, you can't not be awake.
Cheaper than Timmy Hos, healthier than biker crank. And having ripped the entire rear end off a '93 Subaru Legacy after being woken by a telephone pole, I can confirm it hurts less, too.

Lots of cuts in the NY State budget to all sorts of "important" things......
But luckily for the first time in decades all three (Senate, Assembly, Governor) are Democrat. So they were able to give the Governor and Lieutenant Governor a small raise, just 40%!!!!!!!
I'm glad Cuomo can now feed his family......
I have ATT service. I was recently using the Verizon phone with my ATT service, but I seemed to be having problems sending photos. It would start a new text window for pics for each person. Some pics wouldn't even send, it was a pain in the ass. So I switched my sim card back to the ATT phone and it works great, except for one big problem. My batteries(I have like 6) are draining super fast on the ATT phone compared to the other phone. I did an experiment where I used the same battery in both phones and let it sit while I slept. The ATT phone was down to 12% and the other phone was at 75% in the same about of time.
I do have some different apps on each of the phones but mostly the same apps, or so I think, I experiment with lots of different apps. I can't seem to pinpoint any app that might be causing this. In the past I tried using an app that supposedly helped deal with this problem, but that didnt seem to help. Any suggestions?

It's their first raise since 1999. How much has your salary increased since then?

Here's some highlights of the budget.
The Governor's salary was increased by $70,000 to total $250,000. The last raise was in 1999, so $180,000 in 1999 is worth over $273,000 in today's dollars. So even with that huge raise his salary still doesn't track with inflation. I honestly don't think that's an unreasonable salary for a high level politician living in a high cost of living State.

Isn't this where people were leaving in droves due to the higher taxes or something.
I bought newer notes and phones and just ended up returning them. I even have a GS8 edge or something like that(never even used it).Quote: GWAEYou barried the lead. You are using a note 4? That's like 5 years or more old. Wife just got s10 and I have a s9 plus.
Note 5's and up all have sealed internal batteries. I want to be able to switch out batteries on the fly so that's the only reason I keep buying the Note 4's(there is probably a way to do it, but I think it voids the warranty). I can usually find a Note 4 for less than the insurance deductible. And I don't have to wait for them to send it to me. How much better is a Note 9 or 10 than the Note 4? Whats the difference? From what I could see it didnt do anything more that I would need or want. Convince me.
Does anyone know about cloning sim cards? I hear it's illegal? Whenever I go to YouTube to look it up I can only find foreign guys talking about it. I would like to have 2 phones with the same number, getting the same texts and stuff on both.

Make sure the phone is set to "power save" mode in settings>power saving.
If you go to settings>battery you can check out which apps are sucking the most juice. Disable or delete them.
Turn off Bluetooth.
Quote: AxelWolf... I would like to have 2 phones with the same number, getting the same texts and stuff on both.
You should speak to your service provider about this. It is possible to assign two sim cards the same phone number, with the latest one to check into the network disabling the first. Folks with phones built into their car's system utilize this option. Cloning the same SIM card won't work unless the device currently using the code is turned off each time before the other copy tries to connect. If the clone tries to get on the network when the original is still on, the network authentication software will send a "cannot connect" message.
