In Arizona, and I believe Utah too, ATV's are allowed on roads.

I was going to suggest rural counties in East Tennessee - but if you are thinking Cherokee Natl Forest, then you are already there.

Hills, lakes, cussedly independent people.
So many better men, a few of them friends, were dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things lived on, and so did I.

HAPPY YEAR OF THE GOLDEN RAT

As is customary in much of the world, the holiday celebration commences at sundown of the previous day, so I guess i'm a tad bit late.

Anyone know of casinos offering specials on Asian foods or Asian games?

so, I had a car service pick me up at my house - it wasn't Uber and it wasn't a taxi - and she didn't get paid by distance - it was a flat rate

and we need to access the interstate - so google maps gps tells her a way to access it that is a least on mile further and 4 more traffic lights than the quickest way

I know these roads like the back of my hand

google maps is often wrong - so much for high tech

grocery store hack:

I sold goods to grocery stores for years - they rotate their stock to try to get rid of the oldest products ASAP

if you pull from the back instead of the one closest to you you will often get a much fresher product

There may have been an accident or construction slowing traffic by the exit you wanted. Knowing the roads doesn't mean you know the conditions.

no, I got her to make a U turn and go the correct way - there wasn't any of that stuff -

believe me - I've checked it out in depth - google maps is often wrong

one time when I was in Vegas not too long age and we decided to tour a ghost town in Arizona - a tourist trap - I used google maps - they put us on a dead end unpaved road in the middle of nowhere

a state trooper saved the day and got us there the correct way

100% agree. To get to airport from my house the route they would use is just plain stupid. The airport is southwest of my house. For some reason it starts you going due east until you hit a main road and then go south. The main road is bigger but always slower than the less main more direct road. So you go longer AND slower.

Going to Buffalo it would have me take Main Street instead of parallel alternatives. Traffic on Main Street makes the 2 mile trek around 10 minutes. Alternatives less than 5 minutes. No one who knows the area would ever go via Main Street.

I think the most dangerous drivers are those listening to GPS instructions instead of keeping their eyes open.

I see so many people say, "I need GPS on my smart phone!" How the eff did these people get around before smart phones and GPS??? Did they just never leave the house or something?

I used to use a paper map. Now my phone tells me when to turn. I wouldnít die if I didnít have GPS. Just makes it easier. Like tons of shit in my life I didnít have 30 years ago.
