Speaking of cars and ammo -- I've been rear ended twice in less the 30 days in my car while sitting at a light. The first was probably not paying attention and noticing too late (texting?). But the second, the lady negotiated to the turn lane I was in, but still managed to run into me, so I know she had her eyes open at least until she was in the turn lane, then who knows what happened. I'm starting to get really annoyed.

There is a great shortage of AC Techs and plumbers. Our plumbing teacher called this the perfect storm and we are the "first responders." Because the iron pipes are expiring. These are good jobs. A school owner said that there is not a shortage of jobs. Yet, there is a shortage of techs. Two AC compaines have zero techs. Another lost 1/2.

My friend was an AC tech during college. He is 50 know and said that he went thru depression when he lost his IBM job. and decided to start his own IT business. He and others have complained that AC tech is a dirty job. We rarely handle fiberglass. I gladly work outside near condensers over restaurant work. I think that he likes to feel important, so he'd rather make less doing IT.

I'm a retired power lineman. There were some lean times in the 70's, and I almost starved 3 times in the eighty's . I never dreamed there could be the demand there is now.

Employers have tried pretenders from other country's, [ Jamaica, Haiti, etc. ] that claimed they were qualified, but when given the keys to the grid, don't know where to stick them. It's not something you can fake for long. I'm sure there will be more outages and electrocutions. And they are turning these people loose into a system that deferred maintenance for 50 years. The country abandoned, and then lost, 2-3 generations of skilled trades. Disaster cometh.

Now apparently congress is catching on, https://www.nextgov.com/cybersecurity/2018/12/plan-dumb-down-power-grid-name-cybersecurity-passes-senate/153719/.

The plan is to harden the grid by returning it to analog. But that will require many more linemen, that there has been a dearth of for more than 30 years. I would think demand will be frantic for 25 years at least? The linehands we have now are burning out .

This won't end well for those trapped there. https://www.moonofalabama.org/2019/08/india-will-come-to-regret-todays-annexation-of-jammu-and-kashmir.html?cid=6a00d8341c640e53ef0240a472d38e200c

About eight to ten years ago, I spent about eight hours with a Major in the Pakistani Army. Fascinating story- Pakistan paid for his schooling and allowed him to immigrant but he owes them six weeks of reserve duty each summer. He was about 15 years into a 25 year obligation. We ended up talking about our love of the same types of movie- the swashbuckling Bengal Lancer types.
From that we talked history and he started telling me all about Kashmir. He was quite passionate about it. A few days later I mentioned it to an Indian neighbor and was told it was all lies and had to listen to an entirely different version of the conflict.

Saw a news report that Nevada and some other states are using a mouth swab test to identify drugs other than alcohol of drivers they pull over. Draeger Drugtest 5000.

They use a similar roadside sobriety test like the alcohol test of walking straight lines and so forth to identify drivers to test.

Stolen car lists are just based on how many of those cars exist then the ease of stealing them.

Probably neither was truthful.

Leonard Tose owned the Philadelphia Eagles from 1969-1985
