Don't order from them unless you're sure what you want them. I don't know how this happened, but I'm stuck giving flowers to a woman I don't even trust and to a woman that will either cancel our date or ghost me. Plenty of fish in the sea.
We need to ask ZK how he feels about sending girls flowers.
How old was this chick you were courting? Unless she is old, sending flowers to a chick at the begging stages of dating is a mistake nowadays.
Try ghosting the next one, I bet she will be sending you gifts.
If not, just suddenly send her a d*** Pic.
It was nothing but trouble my friend, 13 years younger than me. It was just a fantasy relationship and she was playing me, her song was pretty damn good though. It is true, ghosting would have been a good idea. I think she was cheating on someone with me to be honest.Quote: AxelWolfMr. I hate Women, thought about sending a woman flowers????

I cannot change or modify the order.Quote: NathanWhy not just keep the flowers and give them to your Mom for Valentine's Day? :)
Quote: onenickelmiracleDamn, I ordered flowers for Valentine's Day Friday morning for the best delivery date I could get, FEB 12th. I tried calling 5 hours later, because I changed my mind about this woman. Well, they were hard to understand and were just running a scam on me pretending to be cancelling my order, I knew it and I stayed on the line for 20 minutes before I gave up. First red flag, the lady tells me the order was already canceled. Then she later told me I would get a cancellation confirmation email within 24 hours and would not send me an email stating this. There was no supervisor available. My hands were tied, I couldn't figure out what to do from my phone, so I had to rely on their customer service representatives. For some reason, she kept saying emaul, you would think they would try pronouncing this right, but they don't. I forgot about it, thinking maybe I would change my mind about this date. I have about 19 times, definitely don't want to go and am almost certain she will stand me up. I don't know a good reason why I can't cancel an order for flowers that won't even be delivered for 2 days now, but they won't let me.

I *think* they contract with local florists, so the quality can vary based on who is actually making the arrangement.
Quote: gamerfreakI *think* they contract with local florists, so the quality can vary based on who is actually making the arrangement.
that is partly true. They do ship some from a warehouse. The ones that get an actual deliver and not fedex come from a local. I think it depends on what you order, if you order some of their specials they ship them. Although I havent ordered flowers in 10 years. I am married so I don't have to worry about those things anymore ;-)
At home my local supermarket (Wegmans) has a HUGE flower department. Probably 1/3 the price as well.
For your dilemma, what did the contract say? No changes permitted after an order has been placed? If so, you are likely out of luck. If not, just dispute with your credit card company.
This^^^Quote: DRichCall your credit card company now and let them know what happened. Ask them to block or reverse the charge if it comes through. Let them know that you cancelled the order but you don't think the person on the phone understood you. They will block or reverse the charge and if the flowers get delivered anyway you are out nothing.
For how much money you make, you're telling me you waste your precious time reading a contract every time you're spending $65? Terms must be clear if not obvious to be valid. This is an unfair business practice if this is how they operate, fraudulently in my opinion. If I wasn't allowed to cancel, they need to tell me and wouldn't bother bullshitting me claiming the order was already cancelled.Quote: SOOPOOI'm at resort in Jamaica now. Celebrating my girl's birthday. She likes flowers. I went to concierge to order a bouquet. I'm a captive audience. It was nearly $100 for a 6 rose bouquet yet! I bit my lip and said I'll take it, I just need it before dinner. I get an email back telling me since it was a Sunday they can't get them! I figured a resort hotel was 24/7!

I don't know how places like 1800-FLOWERS are still in business. It's the biggest ripoff ever.
Yes, as I recall from my years of trying to socialize above my natural dating rank, I think that was somewhere between the delusional period and the hopeless stage, but before the restraining order phase.Quote: AxelWolfat the begging stages of dating
Lol. Her ass would make Axel go straight. There are things about me you will never know. You think you know who I am, but you dont. It's not easy a situation to be honest. The relationship is unhealthy for both of us, that you are right about. She told me she is only happy when she is with me and she forgets her miserable life.Quote: DrawingDeadYes, as I recall from my years of trying to socialize above my natural dating rank, I think that was somewhere between the delusional period and the hopeless stage, but before the restraining order phase.
For someone you are going to hand the flowers to, I have found that the grocery store to be the best option, too. Mrs. Joeman likes carnations and is meh about roses. I can usually get a nice bouquet of carnations for a couple of bucks.Quote: TigerWuWhen I want to get my wife flowers I go to the local grocery store and get a bouquet for $4-$7.

It's a different story if we want to, say, send flowers to her Grandma in New York. That's where the big national guys are helpful. (We used ProFlowers for just this recently.)
Also, sometimes you can score bonus points if you send your SO flowers at work, especially if it makes her coworkers envious. ;) In this case, I would go with a local florist to deliver them. However, I have used the big guys for this service as well. The price ends up being about the same.
I was going to say something similar to this. It's so very true.Quote: Joeman

Don't be mean to me! I was trying to help.... As someone who came a whiskers length from losing $1000 to Wiz on the Props Bet challenge, clearly I don't read every contract.... If you feel you were being treated unfairly then do what the two previous posters suggested. The credit card company is your ally.
Perhaps he used a debit card. I'm not sure if the same rules apply when you use a debit card. I seemed to remember it was harder to get your money back when using a debit card. Years ago, when I used my debit card, I totally got screwed by a mobile mechanic. My car wouldn't start and it seemed as if it was the starter and coil or some combination. He said it was all fixed. It started up and I got it home. Later that day the same thing was happening again. The guy said he couldn't come for a few days. I figured out it was just a loses wire, but he did a bunch of unnecessary work and still didnt fix the problem.Quote: SOOPOODon't be mean to me! I was trying to help.... I had lots of proof he didn't do the work he claimed, he didn't change the parts he claimed, and he lied about what was wrong. I had statements from two mechanics, pictures, a time line, texts and a recording of the guy trying to BS me. I went into the bank and presented everything and they still wouldn't give me back the money. They said unless somome use my debit card without my authorization there was nothing they could do other than go to small claims court.
I apologize, didn't mean to sound mean. If I ever win a beer from Wizard, I'll transfer it to you. derp derp derp. I must let you know, by forum standards, I'm the Forrest Gump, so I probably will never win a beer.Quote: SOOPOODon't be mean to me! I was trying to help.... I think it just has to be branded a VISA or MASTERCARD to have protection. I did use a debit card, but I'm not worried about it. It just sucks this company does business this way. I highly doubt they have customer service set up to act this way unintentionally. It's normal in the internet age I suppose, been finding it out lately.Quote: AxelWolfPerhaps he used a debit card. I don’t understand why anyone would use a debit card instead of a credit card. Just pay it off on time every month. I think most credit cards give better benefits.

It was/is branded visa.
Quote: jackmagic777But it is also National Condom Awareness Day and National Ferris Wheel day. Put those 2 together. Now that could make for an exciting Valentine's day date. Not exactly Mile High Club, but definitely FUN !
After I confirm that, I am going to celebrate both those things on Feb 14.
If you are into AP all holidays are a good thing since gambling establishments often run promotions during that time.Quote: WizardDid I ever mention that I hate Valentine's Day? To make up for the money they wasted on these talkshow hosts, they run scammy and shottty buisness operations. I never charged back an item once in my life but if I was going to it would be one of these companies just so I do not have to deal with their customer service.

p.s. Happy plum pudding day!
In NY, there are an abundance of flower shops. After three years in Vegas, I have not noticed any.

Never use a debit card on the internet, you are just asking for a fight when something like this happens. You can also find your whole account wiped out and fighting to get it back. Always use credit cards because it is the credit card company that has to fight it and you are out nothing while waiting for them to resolve it.

I can’t wait to find out what happens. Maybe there’s a Hollywood happy ending after she gets the flowers.
It is very doubtful. I hope those flowers make her feel like the despicable thing she has become. The most likely thing is there will be a sex tape rather than a Hollywood ending.Quote: unJonI can’t wait to find out what happens. Maybe there’s a Hollywood happy ending after she gets the flowers.

The Palms is coming to your rescue Wizard. They are having an anti Valentines event on the 15th.
It seems a little two faced to me to have it the day after. Me thinks they are having cake and eating it too.
