… Btw you said Pennsylvania Live! but its Pittsburgh Live!

Oops! Guess I got confused, but I have now corrected that mistake with a strike through.

Since my adding a parenthetical city name below the casino name is intended to explain which casino of that name is being referenced (and not as a lesson on the geography detail), I think it works for the index to state the city, if any, that the casino owner typically includes in the “full” casino name.

State: Delaware
City: Dover
Casino: Bally’s

Today’s chip of the day is from Bally’s Casino in Dover, Delaware. On December 23, 2021 Dover Downs Casino became Bally’s Dover. I found reports saying the name change was announced in November and that the rebrand started but this seems to be when the name change officially took place. I sadly never got to visit Dover Downs and collect a chip so I couldn’t tell you how much difference the rebrand made. Bally’s Dover has 2600 slot machines and 58 table games and poker tables. The layout is odd in that you enter a circular room with slots and then at the end of that is rectangle area. When you get to the end of the rectangle the casino goes left with slots and right with tables and slots. I spent over a hour playing random positive slots and I made over $500 before playing a few hands of CSM bj to collect my chip.

The chip is white RHC with 4 green and 4 red edge inserts. The centre inlay is white a large grey “B” covering the inlay. The casino name, location and chip denom are all black.

Casino: Ocean Downs

Today’s chip of the day is from Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, Maryland. Ocean Downs Casino opened on January 4, 2011 but didn’t open table games on the property until December 29, 2017. The casino floor has 900 slot machines and 18 table games. I played a few slot machines as I walked through doing my normal scouting of a new casino. Nothing special but I did find a few plays here and there. I played bj to collect my chip and broke even. I almost witnessed an impressive comeback story until the guy chickened out. A guy comes to the table with his last $150 or so in chips and says I’m going to stack each win for 3 wins and then leave. He wins the first hand and stacks it, wins the second hand and instead of betting the $600 he plays two hands of $100 or so. I was able to put together the hand in my head from the cards on the felt and the dealer would have busted and he would have had his $1200 he wanted. Instead he played two hands and lost it all over the next 3 hands, I guess he should have stuck to his guns.

The chip is a white RHC with two large edge inserts, one yellow and one green. The centre inlay is blue with a white middle. The casino name is in the middle of the inlay in black, the denom is white with a blue border and the location is white. The logo at the top of the inlay is 3 spades made to look like fish, one red, one black and the last is yellow.

Thanks again for the thread Doc. I’ve enjoyed it immensely over the last 8+ years for me as I came after the thread was created. I didn’t realize that this year is our biggest in the last 4 years and the second biggest since 2017. Hopefully this year we can break 100 again.

If I ever get my act together, I have...a few chips in my collection. Primarily $1 US chips, but also some from casinos outside the US & Canada.

Illinois casino news:

There is a new casino in Waukegan, a suburb @40 miles north of downtown Chicago. The Temporary by American Place opened on February 17, 2023. It is currently housed in a large 'tent' (but a decent one); the permanent facility is currently under construction.

Jumers Casino & Hotel was sold in June 2021 and rebranded as Bally's Quad Cities Casino & Hotel in September 2021. When I stopped by shortly after the ownership/name change, Bally's Quad Cities didn't have new chips yet. I was planning to do a road trip last week but the weather in the Midwest was too dicey.

Last time I visited Rockford Casino in Fall 2022, there were no live table games so no chips to be had. The permanent facility will be branded Hard Rock Rockford and is currently scheduled to open in late 2023/early 2024.

Finally, the long-awaited Bally's Chicago is scheduled to open a temporary facility sometime in 2023, with a permanent facility opening in 2026. Since it's Cook County, I'll believe it when I walk through the doors.

I stopped by Bally’s Quad Cities last year and also found them to still be using Jumer’s chips which was annoying since all the other Bally’s already have their Bally’s chips in play. They do have the chips in play now but I haven’t been back.

City: Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten
Casino: Hollywood

Today’s chip of the day is from Hollywood Casino in Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten. In January I took a free cruise with my sister from Baltimore to the southern Caribbean with Carnival. I did a tier match type of thing a few years ago with them and took a European cruise last August comped. During that cruise I played enough to generate more offers including this one. My next 3 cruises I actually will be getting $500 fp along with each cruise being free which is nice for sure. I had actually been to Sint Maarten before back in 2004 with my family but obviously I was too young to go to any casinos. I only went to 3 of the island’s casino as table games weren’t open anywhere and two of the casinos didn’t even have table games anymore. My sister and I started the day with a short excursion with two chairlifts to the highest point of the island. It was pretty up there but extremely windy. After the excursion was over she took the provided transit back and I went in search of casinos. Like I said the first two that I found had no tables anymore so I sifted through a few slots machines and moved on. I walked a few miles to a casino that I knew had tables but I wasn’t sure if they would be open. Hollywood has 144 slots and 21 table games and poker tables. Sadly the tables were closed so I did some more sifting through machines before going to the cage to attempt to get a chip. I thought it was going to be a struggle as it has been on other islands but the worker was more than happy to sell me a chip without the need of any begging.

The chip is white with 6 sets of 3 blue edge inserts. The oversized inlay is white and yellow with the casino name and location in black around the edge of the inlay. The centre of the inlay has the casino name again in black over top of a yellow star, lights and an arch looking thing. The denom is yellow with a black border.

My collection includes only one chip from Sint Maarten. That shortage of souvenirs is mostly explained by the fact that I have never even been anywhere on that island -- either to Sint Maarten or Saint Martin. The reason that I have that one chip in my collection was addressed in my CCotD post, located here.

Edit: In case someone comes across conflicting information in an old, old post of mine, I will confess to forgetfulness. I have, indeed, been to both sides of that island. Just once. And I didn't visit any casinos while I was there.

Construction seems to be progressing slowly. I get the feeling that their timeline goal is to be open before the competition (≈15 miles north, at the state line; the competition doesn't seem to have broken ground yet, Hard Rock seems to have a foundation poured and some girders in the air as of yesterday).
I didn't notice much activity or heavy equipment on the site.
Topical inclusion: the Rockford Casino seems to have opened table games, 4 days a week. Video suggests they are using Hard Rock chips, not Rockford Casino chips.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I had to look it up as it somehow escaped my attention. I didn’t realize that Ho-Chunk was building a new casino in Beloit. I guess I’ll have to add it to my list.

In all fairness, they don't seem to be actually building it yet.
The most recent "construction" I've heard about is some roadway enhancements and maybe a new traffic light in preparation. Neighboring fields seem to have been tilled and possibly planted already, but I haven't seen any work done on the site this year (unlike last year), so they may actually be getting started - only 33 years after another tribe first tried to get approvals for this site.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Casino: Xanadu

Today’s chip of the day is from Xanadu Casino in Noord, Aruba. This casino is in the Holiday Inn resort and has 186 slot machines and about 12 table games and poker tables. I got to the casino about a hour early before the tables were opening so I had time to kill. I played an ap slot that took a while and then when I couldn’t find anything else to do I walked around the resort. I had a VERY overpriced bagel with cream cheese and lox before buying a UV protective long sleeve shirt in the gift shop. I had gotten very badly burned on a dolphin watching excursion in St. Lucia a few days earlier so the shirt was a big help walking in Aruba and the other islands as the sun on my skin caused a bad burning sensation, not that I can think of a good burning sensation. When I got back to the casino the dealer was getting the table ready so I parked myself down at the bj table and bought in. I played for about ten minutes and won $30 before continuing on my journey to the other casino that I thought had a new chip but sadly they didn’t seem to have a casino at all. I walked across the parking lot to the Glitz Casino to collect a new chip as the old ones were in terrible shape and barely legible. The new chips are quite nice and I was happy to replace my previous chip with the new one.

The chip is white with 4 black triangle edge inserts. There are 8 blue circles and 8 red triangles around the chip. The centre inlay is white with the casino name and the denom in blue with a silver border. The word “casino” is gold.

Wow! I have just discovered something quite interesting about one of the chips in my collection, and I am wondering whether anyone else has ever noticed this about their chips.

Earlier today, PokerGrinder posted his chip from the Xanadu casino in Aruba (right above this post). Just over four years ago, in April 2019, PokerGrinder posted his chip from the Cool Casino in Aruba here. I visited Aruba on a cruise in September 2019 and picked up an identical (?) chip from the Cool Casino for my own collection.

Completely by accident, I discovered today that my souvenir chip from Cool Casino can be picked up by a magnet! I assume it has some sort of ferrous material in it, or possibly an embedded (electronic) chip with that characteristic. To my recollection, I have never before noticed a casino chip that can be picked up with a standard magnet. Not even a metallic slot token that was being used as a table game chip.

Have other folks noticed this with chips they have? PokerGrinder, do you have easy access to your Cool Casino chip, and could you see how it responds to a magnet?

How do the weights compare to 'the usual'?
I'm guessing you may have a pennyweight/decigram scale.

(I doubt the magnetic attraction is related to internal electronics.)

Thanks for the heads up on live table games at Rockford Casino. Per the casino's website, live table games are available Sunday-Thursday 10am-Midnight, Friday-Saturday 10am-2am as of April 5th. Blackjack, 3 card poker, Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em. No live craps, roulette or baccarat, though.

Not too surprising if construction activity has slowed right now even if the foundation has sufficiently dried. It's been cold, windy and rainy -- conditions that reduce productivity and increase the likelihood of accidents. Perhaps tornado season is also a consideration. Could also be supplies/materials or labor/equipment issues, cash flow considerations. Regardless, the permanent facility will be a nice addition for the region when it opens.

Dieter, I don't really have any appropriate scale for comparing chip weights. I have been wondering whether I could construct a balance from a ruler and a support string to test whether one chip is notably heavier than another, but I haven't yet tried to take the steps.

PokerGrinder, I haven't (yet) found any other chips that respond to a magnet. I have the collection under glass on my desktop, and today I scooted my iPad across the desk. The iPad protective case has a closing flap with a magnet to hold it in place. As I moved it over, the chips under the glass moved, and I finally figured out that it is the Cool Casino chip that was being dragged magnetically.

This move by Ho Chunk (to build a casino in Beloit, WI @20 miles from Hard Rock Rockford) kind of reminds me of the joint venture between Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods near the Massachusetts border to counter the opening of the MGM Springfield. On the bright side, another chip for the collection someday.

100% and I’m running out of chips to collect in North America so I’m happy to have more to add.

I do have a mini kitchen scale that I can use to weigh the Cool chip vs a similar chip but again that would involve someone reminding me in September when I visit my parents.

I'm sure that some people would prefer not to drive all the way to Wisconsin Dells for a premium resort destination experience.

I, for one, welcome the idea of some of the Chicago weekend traffic stopping at the border. Things get really jammed up from exit 92 to exit 106 during the Sunday afternoon exodus.

As I see it, the Hard Rock will be under Illinois commercial gaming enforcement (tribal owned, but no sovreign immunity); the Ho-Chunk will be under Wisconsin tribal gaming enforcement (and no markers). That will steer some people one way.
The proposed waterslides may steer some the other way.

I joined WoV back in 2012. Longtime lurker but I haven't posted here until recently. I was looking at 'Recent Threads' the other day and saw this one. Over the past @20 years, I have collected chips from casinos and card rooms while traveling.

Four Queens and the old Hard Rock Las Vegas have come out with some of my favorite special issue/limited edition chips.

Very good points. There is also the smoking vs. non-smoking consideration.

In the end, I hope Ho-Chunk Beloit issues a chip along the lines of what is currently offered at Wisconsin Dells rather than the somewhat plain chips at Nekoosa and Black River Falls.

City: Willemstad, Curaçao
Casino: Hill Ross

Today’s chip of the day is from Hill Ross Casino in Willemstad, Curaçao. The chipguide has Hill Ross Casino listed as opening on December 1, 1996 although I have found their dates to not always be accurate. However it is the best date that I could come up with. The casino is in the Trupial Inn Resort complex about a 12 minute cab ride north of the main tourist area. I walked from the cruise port to this area stopping at 3 different casinos. The first I will cover tomorrow in a new chip of the day, the second was the Pelikaan Casino where the tables were closed until 7 pm and the manager refused to sell me a chip despite some begging and the final was the Harbor Casino which had been half torn down and clearly wasn’t open. I walked across the bridge to the tourist area, bought a few souvenirs before reaching San Marco Casino where the tables wouldn’t be open until 2 pm. I left with the intention of returning at 2.

I had lunch and planned out my next move. All the casinos I had as possible spots were quite far (need a taxi) and pretty much nowhere near each other. Based on this and the small amount of time I had to play with I made a calculated guess that the most likely casino to be open and have tables open was Hill Ross. This guess was based on recent social media activity by the casino and the casino’s website that looked to be kept up. I haggled a taxi driver down from $25 to $15 to take me to the casino. When I got there I was happy to find 100 slot machines and 12 table games of which they had a few open. The casino gambles in Netherlands Antillean Guilders but they switch USD at the tables and then back at the cage at the same rate so it was easy. The table minimum was 10 guilders which is about $5.50 USD. I won 100 Guilders and cashed out for a profit of $55. The dealer and pit boss didn’t seem too enthused to be there and didn’t take to any of my small talk. My one tip went almost completely unnoticed so I kept quiet and played until I was ready to leave.

From my research on the chipguide this casino used to have different chips and played using USD but the new chips don’t have a dollar sign. The chips were mostly quite faded and looked like they had been in play for quite a few years. The exception to this was that they had what looked like brand new 2.50 chips which is why I kept one of those instead of a 5. They didn’t have 1 chips in the rack as that would only be $0.55. This is only the second time that I’ve kept a 2.50 snapper, the previous time was at the Isle in Bettendorf after they changed the name of the casino but didn’t replace any of the chips except the $2.50 ones.

The chip is pink with 6 purple edge inserts. The centre inlay is different shades of pink and half grey. The grey half has the casino name in black and a black logo of a horse that looks. The denom is white on the pink half of the inlay.

In the end, I hope Ho-Chunk Beloit issues a chip along the lines of what is currently offered at Wisconsin Dells rather than the somewhat plain chips at Nekoosa and Black River Falls.

I had to think for a minute. Yes, BRF and Nekoosa used somewhat drab color palettes.
Last I heard, Nekoosa withdrew their

That tiny room for poker was awful.
I can't recall ever seeing anyone playing roulette, despite a very lonely dealer standing there for hours.
It was almost impossible to get a seat at one of the two "good" blackjack tables, and then it was hard to get any time in before the pit closed.

I hear they have electronic table games now, but I haven't checked which style, and I expect they're TITO, not chip.

I was surprised by how big this racino is given its location. MD Eastern Shore isn't the most populous part of the state and nearby Delaware has only @1M people. But Delmarva Peninsula draws huge crowds during the summer months. Quite a few visitors to Ocean City and the Delaware beaches probably make a trip or 2 to this casino while in the area.

So what happened is I visited about 8 casinos that day I think and 3 of them back to back to back were Hollywood Casinos. As I’m sure you’ve noticed from visiting Hollywood Casinos they all are built in the exact same “look” and that makes them hard to distinguish when going to 3 of them in 3 hours.

P.S also I’m just old and forgetful 🤷‍♂️

Hollywood Casino Aurora will be moving to a new land-based facility with a hotel & spa. It will be located at I-88 and Farnsworth Avenue, a location that has much higher traffic and visibility than the riverboat located downtown. It's a shame, because the exterior of the current facility doesn't look as corporate cookie cutter as many of the other Hollywood Casinos.

This move is similar to the one Majestic Star made from 2 riverboats to a new land-based facility located adjacent to I-80 (and rebranding as Hard Rock Northern Indiana -- anything to avoid using 'Gary' in its name). Location, location, location, right? Hard Rock Northern Indiana has been the state's top grossing casino for a while now.

Wonder what the new Hollywood Casino will look like, lol.

Hard Rock northern Indiana is huge and much nicer than any of the close by casinos so I’m not surprised they are the highest grossing.

I haven’t been to Hollywood Aurora in close to a decade and I doubt that I’ll be back any time soon unless there is a name change. I don’t hang out in the Chicago area too often but maybe I’ll stop in when I collect chips from the new Illinois/Wisconsin casinos in a few years.

Stop by Chicagoland sometime after 2H 2024. The Temporary by American Place (Waukegan) is already open. Hard Rock Rockford, Bally's Chicago (temporary facility), and Wind Creek Chicago Southland (East Hazel Crest/Homewood) are all expected to be open by then, if not earlier.

In Downstate Illinois, Walker's Bluff Casino Resort (Carterville) is currently expected to open Spring/Summer 2023. Golden Nugget (Danville) is currently expected to open sometime in 3Q 2023.

So plenty of chips from new casinos should be available in Illinois in the next year or two if all goes according to plan.

Today’s chip of the day is from Wind Creek Casino in Willemstad, Curaçao. Doc you posted your chip from the previous name of this property on April 23, 2013 almost exactly 10 years ago to the day. Wind Creek (Alabama tribe) bought the Carnaval Casino in 2017 but didn’t rebrand the casino until December 23, 2019. Wind Creek has 335 slot machines and 19 table games and poker tables with tables opening at 11 am. My ship docked a very short walk from this casino inside of the Renaissance Resort so it was the first one that I visited. I stopped in, made a quick run through the slots (not finding much) before playing a few hands of bj. I won $40 over those couple of hands before moving on to try and collect more chips.

The chip is light blue with 6 white/red/white edge inserts. The centre inlay is white with the casino name, location, chip denom and Wind Creek logo all in yellow.

Once many years ago [@1988?] while in Ocean City MD I was with a guy who wanted to head to Atlantic City, the only option you had in those days for a casino on the East Coast. He decided we should take the Cape May-Lewes ferry to get there. That took forever, it's basically an hour and a half trip over water [85 minutes per website] and we waited for the ferry too. He had not counted on that, and had to get home, so we wound up spending maybe an hour at the Taj Mahal! First time in a casino for me.

So I see we now would have this casino nearby in Berlin instead.

Ocean Downs (racetrack) was around long before the first time I visited Ocean City in the 70s. The add-on casino opened in 2011. Back when I was a kid, we took the Cape May-Lewes ferry one time driving back from a family vacation in NYC. That was my first experience on a ship sailing open waters and I thought it was awesome. Had another opportunity to take the Cape May-Lewes ferry in 2021 and again in 2022 but both times I decided against making a long road trip that much longer.

Atlantic City had a monopoly on East Coast gambling for years and somehow managed to squander a huge 1st mover advantage. Once NYC opens new casinos with a full complement of live table games, AC is really going to have problems. Get your AC casino chips now, lol.

AC is on the verge of the death and has been for years. The casinos opening in PA, DE, MD etc has doomed the city. You’re right, NYC will probably be the nail in the coffin. I’ve been twice and barring a name change to a casino I have no interest in ever returning.

Did you collect a chip from Ocean Casino Resort (formerly Revel Casino Hotel) and Hard Rock AC (formerly Trump Taj Mahal), both of which opened in 2018?

The Philadelphia casinos have really hurt Atlantic City. Empire and Resorts World in NYC aren't full-fledged casinos yet but they have also hurt AC by offering lots of slots and some electronic table games. I suspect at least 1, if not both will be awarded a full gaming license (3 available for downstate NY) at some point. Once that happens, there will not be much of a reason for NYC gamblers to visit AC on a regular basis.

Casino: Horseshoe

Today’s chip of the day is from Horseshoe Casino in Lake Charlie’s, Louisiana. Horseshoe Casino sort of, kinda, not really but kinda still a rebranding of the Isle of Capri Casino riverboat. The following quote is from the chipguide “In August 2020, approximately two months after re-opening following COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the riverboat was knocked free from its moorings by Hurricane Laura; it floated away until it became lodged under the Lake Charles bridge”. Shortly after this the Eldorado purchase of Caesars took place and the casino came under new ownership. Instead of fixing the riverboat they were allowed to move onto land. Eldorado/Caesars or whatever we are calling them these days built a land based casino and named it Horseshoe. I joke about whether this is a rebrand or a new casino but it is definitely a rebrand in my opinion as it’s the same casino license just moved onto land to grow with the times.

Horseshoe Lake Charles has 800 slot machines and 52 table games and poker tables. I stopped here after a 30 minute detour from a nearby casino I was doing some business in. I took a quick check of the machines and played a few hands of dd bj breaking almost even on both before completing the last 3 hours of driving that I had ahead of me.

The chip is a white RHC with two blue edge inserts. The centre inlay is grey with a large horseshoe and a smaller one. The casino name, location and chip denom are all black.

Casino: Casino Nanaimo

Today’s chip of the day is from Casino Nanaimo in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Casino Nanaimo has 407 slot machines and 6 table games. My first visit to Casino Nanaimo came in late 2021 when I was in Victoria for a few days. I collected a chip from Elements Casino Victoria and then drove up to Casino Nanaimo. I don’t remember exactly how I made the mistake but I thought tables had reopened from Covid but when I arrived I found out that I was wrong. Well I was recently in Vancouver for some casino stuff for two weeks so I figured I’d take one day and take the ferry to Nanaimo. I took the afternoon ferry and arrived with about 3 hours until my return ferry back to the mainland. I decided to save Uber money and grab the bus but google maps told me the wrong bus as it was going the opposite direction. I rode that bus for about 20 mins trying to figure out when it might turn around. I eventually asked the driver who had a laugh, told me where to get off and what bus to take back to get to the casino. He even gave me a transfer ticket after not taking my payment for the bus since all I had was a $5 bill and he had no change. I caught the correct bus and a hour after getting on the first bus I was at the casino. I remembered where all the ap machines in the casino were from last time so I hit those first and then did a quick walk through of the rest. I made a few bucks and then played a little bj to get my chip. I won $60 and went to cash out. As I was about to leave I saw a lady get off the machine I had wanted to check and of course there are two plays, one a $30 per spin play. I played the $30 first as I was really short on time. I ended up hitting two handpays and making over $3k on the play. I played most of the other play but ended up leaving it almost stripped down as I had to get to the terminal. There were no cabs outside and now I was in trouble. I had to call a cab, the cab got there 10 mins later and I asked him to hurry. During this time I also figured out that this was not the second last ferry but the last of the night… oops. I got to the ticket booth to pick up my prepaid ticket and found the ferry was delayed. I rushed to the gate to find an announcement of a second delay. If it weren’t for the delays I’m honestly not sure if I would have made it in time for the closing of the gate. Luckily I didn’t have to stay in a Nanaimo hotel for the night and got home albeit later than expected.

The chip is white with 3 blue/red/blue edge inserts and a longer blue rectangle under each. The denom is listed in blue 3 times around the edge of the chip. The centre inlay is white with the Great Canadian Gaming’s green spade logo covering most of the inlay. Overtop of the logo the casino name, location and chip denom are listed in black. I’m not sure why the location is listed as the more broad Vancouver Island instead of just Nanaimo but I guess neither is wrong.

Opening Date: February 17, 2023

This is a $1 chip from The Temporary by American Place, the newest casino in Illinois. At the moment it is located in a temporary facility -- a large 'tent' (but a nice one) -- from which its name is derived. American Place (permanent facility) is currently expected to open in Waukegan, a northern suburb of Chicago, sometime in 2025. Owner Full House Resorts currently operates six casinos in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, and Nevada.

The Temporary is @40 miles away from my house. The shortest and fastest route would require driving on toll roads, so I won't be visiting on a regular basis. The casino has 4 craps tables, but because of a shortage of dealers, typically only 2 are open during busy times.

dwc13:

Considering that you have (apparently) been registered with the WoV forums for more than a decade, it is surprising that you have posted so little. On the assumption that you expect to be more active from now on, I think it is quite possible that (with a little fixing up) we could make your American Place post an "official" Casino Chip of the Day (CCotD) entry and add it to the index. With that in mind, there are four comments I would like to offer:

(1) We have a general format we try to stick to for the CCotD posts. In particular, the first three lines of the post should provide the category, the city, and the name of the casino. These should be in bold-face font, so your post should begin like this

State: Illinois
City: Waukegan
Casino: American Place

(2) Since it appears that they are already using "permanent" chips with the casino's name, I think we should not hold that tent against them and should go ahead and just have this CCotD post list the chip with the permanent casino name.

(3) There is a limited amount of time during which you are allowed to edit a post, so if you can make those changes very soon, your revised post should suffice just fine. Otherwise, you could copy it over into a new post with the revisions, after which perhaps an admin would help us by eliminating your original attempt.

(4) If a member/collector has assumed the lead role in making the CCotD posts, we generally try to defer to that member to continue his/her series of posts until he/she wants to take a break. PokerGrinder has been doing a fine job, and with the exception of editing this American Place CCotD post, I would appreciate it if you would allow him to continue before you post other chips from your collection. Besides, we only want to have one official CCotD post per day. I strongly suspect that PokerGrinder will announce when he has posted all the chips that he is ready to post for a while.

And, dwc13, thanks very much for your contribution to the thread!

@Doc -- In response to your enumerated comments above:

(1) My post has been revised to include the first three lines in bold font.

(2) Per filings with the IL Secretary of State, FHR-Illinois LLC has 2 active assumed names The Temporary by American Place and American Place, with the latter intended to come into play once the permanent facility is ready for business. At the present time marketing efforts primarily use 'The Temporary by American Place' since that facility exists and is open for business. However, for consistency with ChipGuide, I'll modify the casino name.

BTW, the reference to the tent reflects the current state of the facility, nothing more nothing less. IMO this is relevant information for those considering a visit. ChipGuide also references the tent in its American Place listing.

(3) See my responses above.

(4) I was unaware of this arrangement. My apologies. PokerGrinder has been doing a great job and should continue.

Thanks, dwc13. I think this should work just fine, unless perhaps they decide to go with a completely different name when they finish the building. Of course, it might all be neater if I completely deleted my note suggesting that you make these changes, but I am not particularly interested in trying to cover my tracks.
