Wait a minute - didn't BBB say something like that when she started? 😁
It's probably not something The Wizard has really ever considered much, but administrative privileges gives access to people's IP's at a minimum, and who knows what other information.

That's too much information. Basically, when you were a Moderator, assuming I wasn't using a VPN you knew my appropriate location whenever I was on the forum. You knew/know my home IP address. Luckily My IP pings my location at least 8 miles away from my actual location(Not because of you).
You knew if I was traveling, you knew if I was at X, Y, or Z casino. (Is that not how you guys ultimately figured out B79 or that fake host?)
Why does, would that matter? One knowing I'm an AP and suddenly pinging my location at a casino out-of-state could be of concern for many reasons. I do believe both the current mods are somewhat Advantage Players or at least AP enthusiasts(?).
Whatever the case, I don't know what information an IP can show outside the forums. I know using a VPN can solve all that, but I should not have to do that.

No need, it's been documented here, it's not my job to provide you that. He was suspended for attempted Doxing here. You provide me evidence it's not the case. Since people in green should be held to a higher standard, my evidence that shows why he shouldn't be a Moderator should include other public forums, especially ones that have cross-over membership and have similar content.
You turned it into something dark with your unfounded allegations of "uncouth" - unnamed rude or vulgar distasteful acts. And the universe is WOV, Wizard gave me permission to draw from other forums for purposes of responding to Mission146's work, it was not a general free for all to open the floodgates to importing drama, which by the way I believe you have been doing for a couple days now already importing random drama from other forums.
At WOV, there are rules of engagement such that a person participating here would expect a certain degree of respectful interaction, and anything going beyond the usual decorum would not be expected, not assumed to be part of the risk of participating here. Sly little insults are to be expected but outright accusing someone of uncouth acts (unless he did in fact commit uncouth acts) is beyond the pale.
Those other forums have their own rules of engagement and different levels of assumed risk.
I vote you get nuked. 🤣
This one was easy let me know if more is needed.Quote: DieterQuote: AxelWolfGiven the fact that MDawg has a history of what I consider attempted Doxing (call it what you want) and doing various other uncouth things, things I feel should automatically exclude anyone from being a Moderator of any kind, including a secret Mod. Hello! WMW.
Michael99000 is this you and your posts?
[link redacted by mod]
If so, that might explain the negativity of your posts here.
MDawg.
This looks to me like
1. Michael99000 is the one living rent free in your head.
2. This is an attempt at doxxing, which we suspend for, but I'm going to leave at a warning, because you checked his forum name, and the account links to a non-existent or inactive account.
3. Which likely means it got taken offline due to your action, given the timing (in the last 15 minutes). So probably an unwelcome attack.
Just chill, for crying out loud.
While I doubt it will ever come to pass due to his, ahem, "polorizing" claims, I suspect he would be a good one if he really tried.
The guy is intelligent and well organized and a real whiz at finding old posts to support his arguments, all of which are useful mod skills, but I fear he may be too dismissive of the opinions of others to be fair.
Fact is, good candidates for mod must be hard to find...not complaining about what we have now, I'm just sayin' think how you'd have to behave and approach the forum were you a mod.
I present the suspension list as evidence of uncouth.Quote: DieterQuote: AxelWolfGiven the fact that MDawg has a history of what I consider attempted Doxing (call it what you want) and doing various other uncouth things, things I feel should automatically exclude anyone from being a Moderator of any kind, including a secret Mod. There is even a Personal ATTACK notation (not just an insult).
Also, when I posted that thing I had been a forum member just a few months and didn't know better. The link was to a twitter account in the same screen name Michael99000 as the forum screen name Michael99000, nothing was revealed about the person behind it the twitter was just as anonymous as the WOV forum screen name account.
It would be like if someone posted something here from my MDawg Rules YouTube account - so what?
Plus I believe it was a "non-existent or inactive [twitter] account" as BBB mentioned.
As well, I deleted the link - the moment BBB mentioned to me that it could be construed as against the rules. The other moderator at the time, OnceDear came in and posted in my defense that he didn't view it as doxxing.
I never liked the fact that a mod (I assume BBB) came back later and changed the notation to make it seem as though a moderator had deleted the link. I deleted the link myself right away.
I meant it as in not having good manners.Quote: MDawgDo you know what the word uncouth means?

The way I took it is what matters, I took it as the plain meaning of the word. You've spent a few days now trying nonstop to make MDawg look bad, and this is just more of the same.
You get suspended all the time here, probably more than anyone for some time now, doesn't mean you are guilty of "various other uncouth things."
You know what you did pal, you tried to impugn my WOV reputation. Completely inappropriately too, this thread isn't meant to be that serious.
In the past when you felt like someone was putting down your rep at WOV you'd complain mightily.
Are you claiming that I don't understand the meaning of the word?Quote: MDawgAs Gordo has pointed out, the way you meant it especially if you don't understand the meaning of the word is irrelevant.

Uncouth

b

uncouth verse
c

2
a

b
obsolete : MYSTERIOUS, UNCANNY

Rude, rugged, outlandish, uncommon, rare, mysterious, uncanny.
I feel like I’m missing something given MDawg’s reaction.
lacking good manners, refinement, or grace
uncivilized
unpolished
unrefined
uncultured
Now maybe A.Wolf doesn't even know what the word connotes, but saying that I have done various "uncouth" things implies to anyone reading that MDawg has an unseemly character and committed some sort of unnamed rude or vulgar distasteful acts.
Would have been better if he just called me a jerk or idiot at least that doesn't imply crude unnamed acts.
Furthermore, what are the uncouth acts? He couldn't even come up with any.
Quote: AxelWolfI don't disagree it could be a personal insult.

I say nuke him! 😇
I'm not sure this is entirely an appropriate poll and topic for a thread. MDawg has not expressed any interest in being a moderator. Maybe MDawg might start a thread on whether Mr. V would make a good moderator? And then others might start similar polls on people they might wish to embarrass. What if someone started a poll on whether Wizard should retire? Would that be appropriate? It might reasonably be argued that starting this kind of thread/poll is a type of abuse.
And, btw, this is not how moderators are picked - by a popularity poll. It's my theory that a stork delivers them to the Wizard.

I do not believe that response is merited at this time.
AxelWolf's claims seem to be based in fact, and deliberately phrased to attempt to be non-insulting.
He even admitted that what he said was an insult.
By that standard I could now insult with impunity anyone on this forum who has ever been suspended by pointing to the suspension list and say, this proves they committed various other uncouth acts.
One day you rule that a joke “big fan” merits a suspension next day the exact same word does not and then this today. You’re all over the place with your rulings lately.
So you’re seriously saying that the fact that someone has been WOV suspended green lights anyone calling him thereafter uncouth or guilty of various uncouth acts?
Additionally, if you’re saying that it is based in fact to state that MDawg committed various uncouth acts at WOV, then what is to prevent your being suspended as well.
As well, just recently you mods pointed out that “basis in fact” is no defense to an insult. Again, you’re all over the place.

Information other than a link to the suspension list has been submitted.
Even if it hadn't, the amount of time your account has been "in the red" would indicate something was amiss. (No, I don't have a current tally. I only remember some numbers from years ago, and that number seemed extreme.)
You seem to be taking extreme umbrage. This would seem to be a disqualification for the Green Team.
I'll understand if you want to appeal my official actions to Wizard. I really won't get sore over it.
Quote: gordonm888It is well established in this forum that a personal insult is not allowable simply because it is the truth. Ex: You may not call someone fat even if he is obese. It is a personal insult and truthfulness is not a loophole. Anyway, what's the decision on AxelWolf? He says "suspend me," he admits he insulted me and he even added the "Don't cry MDawg" insult to the mix.

There was (or maybe still is) an "MDawg Fan Club".
I'm not aware of a similar organization for terapined.
That seemingly simple change in context makes one comical, and the other abrasive.

Let's clear this up
I believe context is important
"fan club" doubles down on the concept bordering on devotion
While
"fan" is a weaker concept meaning you just like it

How would anyone know your home address? Just from checking (when I was an Admin and could see my IP address) the IP address at different physical places I’ve been on Google, it usually got within about twenty miles of where I was. It certainly didn’t give an exact address.
I guess, in theory, an Admin could know if you were logging in from different places, because that’s what an IP address is, but Admins would have to be regularly checking your IP address and why would an Admin ever do that?
Also, I don’t know if it changed, but when I was an Admin, the site only stored the IP you signed up with and the most recent.
Anyway, I just wouldn’t post on message boards, or even use the internet at all, if you’re worried about people knowing your IP address. I don’t know what technological witchcraft others are capable of, but an IP match was pretty much the only thing sufficient for me to ban someone for sock accounts short of the person just saying it.
