(Getting back on ID Idiocy...)
Someone asked earlier who carries a social security card. I do, despite the SSA's best recommendations. I hate having to go back with a claim receipt.

That is absurd that a casino would require you to present a social security card. Doesn't Form W9 render that completely obsolete?

I don’t know if they still do it since they moved from the tent and built a new casino, but Soboba in SoCal I believe required a social as well, would have to return with it to be paid. Random sovereign nation casinos….

I know that Kansas casinos specifically require you to provide ID if any staff request it and they will kick you out for not having any valid forms of ID.

Yes, they can kick you out for not doing so but they can’t require you to “provide” ID. Last I checked Kansas was still in America and not 1940’s Germany, and casino employees aren’t law officers either, an ID isn’t required to simply exist anywhere.

The way I worded that was a little draconian but the casino nearest to me is very militant about patrons having ID to the point that a regular who was very old but had no ID once to claim a jackpot was asked to leave after the paperwork to put it into safekeeping was done.

Understood. I also may have had a couple too many cups of coffee before my response there as well.
