I looked back at my earlier notifications, but they all link to the same web page, so it's just my memory that's telling me it changed since a week ago.
My impression is that a greater percentage of gamblers smoke compared to the real world. Old habits die hard.
Lots of stupid new rules. You have to park in the
garage which is a pain because it's a hundred
yards from the casino. Have to get your temp
taken. have to show ID, if you're not wearing
a mask they will give you one. Everybody who works
there will be wearing a mask and latex gloves.
You must make an effort to stay six feet away
from other people. There will be limited space
at the table games. The free beverage kiosk will
be closed. There will be roving bands of employees
constantly cleaning everything. Not a single word
how they're going to clean the most germ-ridden
filthy thing in the casino, the chips.
Chips are only as dirty as the hands touching them. If we changed anything, I would want all restrooms to remove doors completely, and have the sinks outside so people cannot feel bold enough to not wash their hands. Fecal material is going to have a lot of disease, all kinds of germs are being spread around by the jerks.Quote: EvenBob7 tribes in MI are opening Friday and next week.

Quote: BedWetterBetterSpeaking of matched up... Does either Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods do Player Card tier matching from other casinos? I've not been to a CT casino in 16 years and would consider a return IF they did tier match.
I asked a few moths ago when I first visted Mohegan Sun and it NO!!!

I expect casinos will change many of their pre-virus policies so that past results are not necessarily true going forward.

I've long been a proponent of washing my hands BEFORE I go to the urinal. After handling those chips, dice, and cards, I feel that Mr. Binky needs all the protection he can get. After all, I know ALL the places HE has been.
Plexiglass up around games with slot openings. Every other slot machine off or marked. Masks required.
And HEY, the bathroom water wasn't on drip mode. You actually had water to wash your hands at about regular speed. At least the one I used. I didn't use any of the toilets though. I didn't eat anything either.
People crowding around some of the tables was the only thing I thought was less than healthy, but I didn't go to any of those. Even with masks on, people standing shoulder to shoulder. I only saw a couple of these though.
I didn't specifically see people wiping down machines, but there was electric message on them that you could request it. Did see special dressed team cleaning escalator rails.
Quote: rxwineI want to the Seminole Hard Rock last night, close to midnight. Although lots of parking spaces were filled, I think it was that they had closed down other parking areas. Was a few crowds around some tables. Walked through a temp scanner area.

Thanks
I was interested in checking it out due to curiosity.
I used to go there once in a while for the good genuine Chinese food in that small Chinese restaurant in the Chinese part of the casino.
Not sure if going back, the counter I ate at was pretty crowded and usually packed
Hope they redesign it so I would feel safer eating
I read an article that said it would be a lot more successful to test for a rebound of Covid if we paid more attention to the wastewater treatment facility than the stats coming from the med centers. Hospital admissions and testing for Covid after people are already sick is a lagging indicator. Covid shows up in fecal matter 3 days before people start showing at the ER's.Quote: onenickelmiracleChips are only as dirty as the hands touching them. That's a little creepy, dude. Why are you watching other men while they are going to the bathroom and tracking them?

from the urinal area and leaving
with unwashed hands. Simple

And now you got places and people that are not using masks to make a political statement. One business that I know of claims are not allowing people to wear masks. From what I understand masks are useless unless everyone in the same area is wearing one. I'm just assuming they actually help.
Besides that, after the initial cabin Fever wears off, I just can't imagine the strip and downtown faring very well.
What you think you're so smart you could come up with a better plan for 10 trillion dollars and actually get something and get some reliable information for the money? I'm pretty sure I could too.Quote: AxelWolfThis just isn't going to work IMO, unless we just accept that lots of people are going to get really sick and even die. I played poker in Vegas one time with someone who claimed to be a janitor in one of the big casinos. He confirms Even Bob's theory. He said he regularly changes the paper towels, but rarely ever changes the soap dispenser.

I sadly agree. I think traffic will be fairly short lived once people experience the "new way".
No valet service, buses (I think - it says "bussing service," but "bussing" means cleaning tables; "busing" is for bus service - Yolo County does have a bus route that goes to the casino), buffet
No poker tables
Thermal camera temperature screening at the entry; no one with a temperature above 100 will be allowed in
Protective masks required for all customers
Gaming positions have been reduced, where necessary to promote social distancing
All restaurants and amenities will have strict occupancy limitations

If he means they are just running hands under water that is worse than nothing.
FWIW well before this thing I wished they would have had the sanitizer/soapless dispensers inside. IMHO part of the issue is getting a good amount of soap in the first place with the touchless ones.
I thought it means something quite different. ;-)Quote: ThatDonGuy... but "bussing" means cleaning tables ....

I'm going to fix that. South Korea just CHOSE to re-close a bunch of schools that had been opened back up.
I'm guessing the added number of cases was more than they expected, and reacted as such. Sweden has experienced greater death rates and has chosen to NOT close things down. As I've said many times, there will be more deaths WHENEVER we choose to open up compared to if we would wait a week later. It is how many extra deaths we are willing to accept that is the big question.

If people really want things to open and stay open, they should really try to follow as many as the previous recommendations as possible while doing so. Because it's unlikely to stay stable if people just want to ignore all previous ways to help keep the virus at low levels.

South Korea isn't willing to accept very many deaths right now that's for sure. I would expect more deaths from the future economic fallout. They have only recorded 269 deaths so far from Covid-19. In terms of saving people from succumbing to this virus, they have done an amazing job.

Have to keep it open. Staying locked down is not practical. Unseen damage is mounting.
That’s a good sign that demand is higher than expected. Yesterday it was just supposed to be Caesars and Flamingo.

let's for a minute just accept that all that actually does help, you have guys like AZDuffman who have the f*** masks mentality and whatever else they think about social distancing or whatever.
I normally get AZDuffman's point of view and sometimes I agree, even if I don't agree, I still think there's some Merit to what he saying, however, I think he's totally off base on this one.

I saw a recent poll that said 18% of Americans are anti-mask.
So yeah, they’re definitely in the minority.

That 18% is partly made up of those who still believe the entire virus is a hoax, as well as those remaining in the “Its just the flu” crowd.

WHO Shares AZDuffman's pposition! Healthy people should wear masks only if caring for coronavirus patients
Well, well, well!
Quote: rsactuaryWell yes, but... if you actually read the article it gives compelling reasons why you should wear one.
The CDC and WHO are at odds. You may wear one if you want, but quit saying I am a loner crank for being against them. Lots of people are against them. I would say most. It is just that I will say so. Now the WHO is saying what I have been saying. If you are in a medical area or such then there is reason to wear them. But at the grocery store? Not so much.
Quote: rsactuaryWell yes, but... if you actually read the article it gives compelling reasons why you should wear one.
I agree
Nobody should listen to WHO. Especially in wealthy countries
The WHO covers the whole planet including every 3rd world country on the planet
Theses poor countries just don't have masks for everyone like we do
The Who would lose all credibility if they say poor countries without masks have to wear them
I listen to the CDC who's main concern is the good ol USA. They say wear a mask in public
You never know when you may encounter infected maskless person leaving virus particles in the air for several minutes as you walk
Quote: AZDuffmanYou may wear one if you want, but quit saying I am a loner crank for being against them.
I have lots of adjectives to describe you, but neither "loner" nor "crank" were on the list. Don't put words in my mouth.

"let's for a minute just accept that all that actually does help" and by that I mean, even if masks where proven to help significantly, there would still be people that would still have the f*** masks and social distancing attitude(everyone, lets go party).
FYI. I don't think wrapping a bandana around your face is sufficient enough to call a mask.
I've seen time and time again where people actually don't respect your space and they're not wearing masks, its almost unavoidable.
If these masks don't help at all then I guess we're really f***** and we should expect another big lock-down, or just deal with it and accept the consequences.
Whatever the case, it's easy to sit and talk about this stuff safely from behind a computer screen. I'm not sure how eager you would be to say Well, well, well! If a lot of your friends, family and loved ones started ending up in critical condition or dying.

My friends and family are part of the majority that find the masks silly.
As to "another lockdown" we had better hope not. Enough damage already done. We are seeing some good, old fashioned treatments working and that the deaths are concentrated among the older members of society. Need to use that in our responses.
Life is risk. I honestly cannot believe people who think we need to wear masks lest we all die would put money at risk in a casino.
