I think this is the first gambling thread
I've started in 5 years. Is the paroli bet
the oldest system in gambling? Letting
it ride, the parlay bet. You win and just
leave your winnings out there for 3 or
4 or 5 bets.
I read a book a few years ago that was
set in the 18th century in France. Paroli
was the system most people used in
roulette, especially low rollers. You split
your BR into 10 parts and let it ride
and hoped you would win a sequence.

One thing it did was let you play for
awhile. In those days there were no
roulette chips. You bet cash on the table.
This meant there would be all kinds of
different currency from all over the
place. It was the original cluster funk.
They had men sitting on high chairs
at either end of the table to keep it
fair, but after every spin there were
still heated arguments over who placed
what bet.

This meant they were lucky to get in 5-6
spins an hour. If you had 10 units and
bet the paroli, this meant at least 2
hour of play for you. It's still a good bet
today. You could win good money
and you only ever lose one unit at a
time.

I say no, others may say yes.
it really does not matter as no one really cares

the probability of NO run of length X in 20 spins
of 00 Roulette evens
no X: probability
no 3: 0.265292636
no 4: 0.586017777
no 5: 0.79790695
no 6: 0.906995024

More like eight. Here is the previous one you started: Remember When.
