I think my total is around 75.
How many have I gambled in? That's an entirely different question! Here are the ones I can name off the top of my head:
TI
Mirage
Planet Hollywood
Bally's
Cromwell
Binion's
Fremont
Golden Nugget
The D
Downtown Grand
a couple in Reno, but it was 30 years ago and I'm not sure which ones (Circus Circus and Harrah's, I think)
Star City (Sydney)
Calder
Casino Miami
Dania Beach(Had a REALLY bad time there. I had a truck splash water all over me from a puddle just minutes before I arrived there when I had JUST gotten my hair done the same day. Ouch. Besides, I got a scratch off saying "0 free play" as a new Player. So messed up. Seriously, 0 free play is beyond insulting. Never went there again)
Gulfstream Park
Hialeah Park
Hard Rock Hollywood
Hard Rock Seminole
Isle Pompano
Magic City
Mardi Gras/The Big Easy
:)
A lot of these casinos I never gambled in by the way
Take Belterra Park Casino outside Cincy.
I was in town just to see Dead and Company at the Riverbend amphitheater.
The casino was next door. Walked over, asked about new player promotions, sign up, get a free buffet
Perfect, pigged out then walked next door to see the concert :-)
11 on the MS gulf coast, and 8 in Tunica. 3 in St. Louis, 3 in Illinois, 2 in Indiana, 2 in Louisiana, 2 Hard Rocks in FL, and Harrah's Cherokee.
Internationally, I've been to Fallsview and Casino Windsor in Canada, and Atlantis and Baha Mar in Nassau.
If you are counting cruise ships/gambling boats, that would be about 11 more.
That would put me at about 100, but I'm probably forgetting one or two.
I am such a slacker! For me, it's just over 500 since I have been bothering to keep souvenir chips from them. No idea how many before I started collecting, since I wasn't keeping any gambling records back then either.Quote: PokerGrinderUm... just under 800 lol.
I've also been to all in the Bahamas, and some in Canada.
All 6 in STL metro
All 5 in KC metro
All 9 Chicagoland metro
Ho-Chunk Wisconsin Dells
Four Winds (New Buffalo. MI)
Pair-A-Dice (Peoria, IL)
Isle of Capri Boonville
Isle of Capri Cape Girardeau
All 9 in Tunica area (including Harrah's Tunica)
Isle of Capri Lula
Horseshoe SI
Harrah's Metropolis
Indiana Grand
Hollywood Lawrenceburg
JACK Cincinnati
Belterra Park (Cincinnati)
Miami Valley Gaming (Cincinnati)
Harrah's Cherokee
Victoryland casino/dogtrack (Alabama/closed)
Southland Park (West Memphis, AR)
So roughly 100?
Quote: PokerGrinderUm... just under 800 lol.
That is insane. Is there a US casino you havent been in?
Many years ago when we lived many many miles closer, we liked Ho-Chunk. Brings back some good memories. Duck Rides and the Train Ride on the edge of town come to mind.Quote: tringlomaneHo-Chunk Wisconsin Dells
Quote: FinsRuleThat is insane. Is there a US casino you havent been in?
100s actually. I have a few hundred USA casinos left on my chip collecting list. Ive only been to about half of the California casinos, half of Arizona, almost one in New Mexico, none in Oregon, 75% Washington, no Maryland or Delaware, no Florida, no North Carolina, and then I have a few missing from parts of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
Of my almost 800 I think about 60 are from Canada, and 120ish from outside of North America.
Quote: FinsRuleBeen in is fine. But I think a casino that changes names/ownership only counts as 1.
Then you can knock about 10-15 off my number.
some bj tablemates flipped thru my cards as did some newfound drinking companions on occasion, so it impresses some from time to time.
I do NOT carry cards from the Vegas joints that either frisked me or ridiculed me for wanting to cash in my last chip rather than lose it.
I've been in quite a few places where I lost my money faster than I could get a card and in NLV I had spotted a bullet casing on the ground and lost my bankroll so soon that I decided to leave and not wait around for any momentoes.
Just under 40... I need to get Traveling!
Quote: ThatDonGuyHow many have I been to? Just over 100, but that includes the same casino under different names (e.g. Las Vegas Hilton, LVH, and Westgate count as three).
How about the International? Did you ever visit the property when it was first built? Too young for that I'll bet.
So I just looked up on my spread sheet from all the casinos I've played in and it's over 90, if I include places like Pops Oasis and the Silver Slipper, Speedway, Barcelona; and that small casino across from Silverton--can't remember its name. We're not counting gas stations with slot machines, right? Oh, and there's also that Paiute casino about 28 miles south of Bishop. And Diamond Jim's in Rosamond, CA. And Commerce casino. And a casino in Searchlight. And there's Hacienda (where Mandalay Bay is now, not the one near Hoover Dam--been to both). And there was a casino in London I played in when I was too young to do so.
Might be over 100.
I have been going to LV grand openings since the early 90's and only missed a few recent ones, such as Lucky Dragon. I have been to a few grand openings in other states as well. Obviously, I'm not including turn key places like Wild Fire( I don't think I have ever been to one of their grand openings).
I got invited to walk the red carpet at the Palms grand opening. I'm not dazzled by stars, but it was kinda fun. My GF was a little envious since my +1 was another AP, but she understood since she is now my wife. Come to think of it, she wasn't even 21 at the time.
It used to be that going to a casino grand opening party was a bid deal and great value for an AP since you got in early and all the machines were on, and in many cases playable. You had time to scout for mistakes and good machines before the crowd piled in. Nowadays, the machines are usually off and they just flip a switch for the machines to come on, so your value drops dramatically.
So 70.

I could go through my spreadsheet logs, but I'm too damn lazy right now. I would estimate between 50-100 and have voted as such.

Brush them haters off
Just in Washington state I went to over a 100.
Quote: HunterhillNot sure exactly but probably around 400.

So Washington has over 100 casinos in it? All with table games, or are these just a store with slots in them?
How can they make money with all that competition?

Actually the opposite - the majority of casinos in WA state are only table games and poker, and I believe they are limited to 15 tables. No machines, no dice, no wheels. Only card games (sometimes they are called card rooms instead of casinos for this reason). Because of the table limit, there are many, MANY of these small casinos and plenty of players to go around since there are limited seats.
I'm not intimately familiar with the gambling laws, but I believe this is what is allowed on non-tribal land. There are also a bunch of tribal casinos which have full Vegas-style gaming (cards in addition to craps, roulette, slots, etc.). Although there is no true VP in even the tribal casinos, they are all VLTs (video lottery terminals).
Does Wynn & Encore count as two?
Does Imperial Palace, Quad and Linq count as three?
Frankly, I don't know how many I've been to. But I do have a data base of my casino chip collection. 331 chips with a total face value of $896, from a total of 102 casinos. 66 of the casinos are in the Vegas area.
And it occurs to me that I havent updated it in a while.
So, based on all that, I selected 100+ in the poll.

Yes a lot of them were cardrooms, some with only 3 or 4 tables, some had 15 tables and what was strange was they allowed dealers to gamble on the tables after ,or before they worked their shift.
I actually was playing with a dealer ,he got tapped out for the end of his shift, put his coat on,and walked right around and sat down and started playing on the same table he had been dealing on.Very Strange
Quote: FinsRuleSimple question. How many different casinos have you been in?
I can now officially state that I've been in at least 101 casinos! (Not that anyone cares, but you asked!)
I created a list by region, and I counted only true casinos that I clearly remember visiting (not including cardrooms, which would bump it way past 100), though I did count Dotty's locations. I didn't count places like Golden Nugget, which I've probably visited, but don't have a memory of doing anything there. And I didn't count cruise ships, tiki bars, or the CVS Pharmacy.
Reno/Lake Tahoe: 32
Las Vegas: 43
California: 13
Other U.S.: 7
Canada: 2
Europe/Asia: 5

102! How could I forget the Boardwalk Casino in Las Vegas?!
question would be how many have
you been in that are gone now. Or
how many have you been kicked
out of.
I was asked to leave the Klondike
in Vegas, which is also long gone
now. It was a fluke, they were doing
poorly and sweating the money
and I won too much at BJ by luck,
and they thought I was a counter.
They told me to leave, but my wife
had a buffet coupon and as we
were standing in line the floor
manager who kicked me out
actually grabbed the coupon out
of my hand and said security would
escort us out. I didn't even know
how to count cards, and all I'd
won was like $150. I guess that
was a lot to them. They closed
for good a few months later.
