Travelling on Sahara bus lane with moped. No driver license. Got hit by a car from driving lane making a turn into a strip plazas. Did not make turn signal. I couLd not stop and now lying in hospital with 2 fractured ribs. Hospital wants 3000 deposit. What is my opinion please?
Also second day after injury usually worst than first if you don't have pain relievers on hand.
Did you say it was the other person's fault(I don't think you are allowed to drive in the bus lane)? Did anyone call the cops? If yes, what happened? If not, why?Quote: speedycrapI have been here sine 29 may. Having a good the til few hours ago. Need advice and anyone providing advice is relieved of possible legal liability. Just need sound advice.

There should have been a ticket given for the person at fault if the cops were called out.
From my understanding, even if you are driving around without a license you are NOT automatically at fault and you can still be compensated. You would still follow all the steps as if you had one. There may be fines at the court level for not having a license and stuff, but no doubt the fines would be less than what the cost of your injuries and claim is worth.
You need to contact an attorney.
FYI Glen Lerner will send someone to you(Perhaps they all do). The people they send out get paid for each client that sign up.
It doesn't sound like anything that needs further treatment anyway.
I'd talk to a lawyer anyway. The hospital didn't want to run up their bill on an uninsured patient, nor did the ER want to.
Quote: MaxPenWelcome to Vegas. Everyone local has a Better call Saul guy in their phone on speed dial. It's sort of a right of passage.
I’m going with Number 3, but that’s just me.

Look carefully at the eyes.

Assuming you don't have an attorney in mind, you could either check Las Vegas personal injury attorney reviews on a website which rates them (AVVO), or you could call Bob Nersesian's office and ask for a referral to someone he recommends.
Thanks. Police gave me a ticket and said it was my fault driving on bus lane. Doctor said minor injury with 2 (only 2) fractured ribs. Ribs will heal by themselves. The Glen Lerner guy, should I contact him?Quote: AxelWolfDid you say it was the other person's fault(I don't think you are allowed to drive in the bus lane)? Did anyone call the cops? A wrap-brace is really helpful, so get a decent one with three-way Velcro straps and use it every day.
I have cracked ribs 7 times in the past 10 years, so I speak from experience. But I'm 65 years old... I hope you're a bit younger and tougher.
Try not to get hooked on the pain meds, bro.
Really sorry this happened to you, speedycrap. I'm afraid you're in for weeks of soreness/pain.
I forget who the lawyer who advertises at DT is.
As to the legal situation, if there is someone else at fault with money or insurance, there are hundreds of lawyers in Vegas who will happily talk to you. If the person at fault has neither, a common situation, you're pretty much on your own.
J/K, get better.

At least they didn't haul you off to jail(-;
I don't think you have to have insurance here for a Moped/scooter, so that's good.
Ya, that's what I figured, you can't use the bus lane to travel on, it's not a moped lane like most people think, perhaps if you are turning into business or something like that. It seems as if this is what they were doing?
How much was the ticket for? Must you appear in court? The judge may drop it down if you get a DL. Good luck with that, the written test is actully fairly hard nowadays here in NV(trust me, I passed but it was hard, I know people who have failed multiple times, most of the people you see there seem to fail the first few times).
Didn't they cite you for not having a driver license(ill let them know they forgot(-;)? You do need that to drive a Moped/scooter.
If it's your fault, I think the odds are slim that you get anything covered.
Its free to contact an attorney, so why not, I don't think it can hurt. As I said, they come to you for an interview. I don't just don't know what the requirements are for them to come out. I have never used an attorney for a car accident. I'm partial to Glen Lerner since I have known him since the 90's, before he blew up, it's a big operation now. Hell, I even tried to use him for a gaming case way back when, but that was not his forte, to say the least.
