Chalk up another win for President Trump.

Amazing how when you stand up for your self-interests you get better results.

Meanwhile, liberals all over spent their weekend defending gang members.

What happens when an American buys a cheaper Chinese product? He has more money to buy more stuff.
We can't be having that now, can we?

Mine used to. But I've typed "Melania" enough that it learned not to correct it.

I guess Donald doesn't type "Melania" into his phone much. lol

How many people, when texting a loved one, actually type their name - I am sure if I typed my sister's or cousins' names into my phone they would get spell checked as well

How about a couple of million?

“Michael Avenatti, the attorney for porn actress Stormy Daniels, broke his promise to make a $2-million payment that was due Monday under the settlement of his firm's bankruptcy, a new lawsuit alleges.

Avenatti agreed in December to pay $4.85 million to Jason Frank, a former lawyer at Avenatti's Newport Beach law firm, but missed the first installment of $2 million, according to a suit filed Wednesday in state Superior Court in Los Angeles. "Avenatti has no valid excuse for failing to perform this obligation," Frank's lawsuit says.

A document filed with the complaint reveals that an arbitration panel of three retired judges found in February 2017 that the firm, Eagan Avenatti, "acted with malice, oppression and fraud" by hiding its revenue numbers and failing to give copies of its tax returns to Frank, as the panel had ordered.” --LA Times

What on earth does this have to do with the Stormy Daniels case?
And why are you responding for EB? I see he's in red, but I'm sure he'll be back in a few days.

That question is one of the regular great stumpers in WoV. Gee, all of us should scratch our balding scalps and wonder out loud just who could have posed this thoughtful question of the week:
"Ooooh this should be fun:
What has Avenatti lied about?
I fully expect EB to ignore the question, because he can't answer it. Maybe he'll claim he was "exaggerating for effect." lol"

OOOhh, another regular stumper for WofV forums. I can't imagine just who might have posted this. Let us all scratch our balding scalps for a responsible answer to this impenetrable query.
As for "responding for EB," maybe you have never stepped in and "helped" someone else. But I don't think so. Anyway, for my part I will most definitely await any comment, either pro or con, from Even Bob. In the meantime, let us all continue to try to solve the unsolvable enigma above.

Not trying to hijack thread, but starting to have respect for lawyers REALLY American Greed reruns on local channel for hours every day. Keep seeing someone who got caught up in a ponzi or scam as an employee or small partner. Finally they realize how wrong what they are doing and go to Feds, IRS, local law, etc. Go in by themselves, get 3-5 years. Have a lawyer negotiate for them upfront, probation or suspended sentence. Seems the law just wants to put people in jail PERIOD.

I can respect anyone who voted for trump as an alternative to what might reasonably be called a slimy and corrupt Democrat candidate I would have despised clinton too.

It wasn’t just her. It was also her slimy and corrupt Democrat party and what it now represents.

The justified killing of Michael Brown in 2014 started anti-police movement, built on a lie, and perpetuated by the main stream media.

Despite forensic evidence and a grand jury finding supporting the police, Black Lives Matter used the Brown killing to promote their anti-police message. Always playing to the black vote, the dems seized the opportunity to never let a good crisis go to waste, and passed a resolution supporting BLM.

Even as BLM marched in the streets shouting 'Pigs in a blanket', 'Fry em like bacon’, to inspire the killing of police, the dems and their media continued their support for BLM.

After the ambush attack that left five officers dead in Dallas, Trump called it an 'attack on our country'. Hillary called the murders ‘an absolutely horrific event’. Using the murders as evidence of the need for ‘more love and kindness’. and vowed to fight 'systematic racism' in police departments. Same old bs we’ve been hearing for the past fifty years. NYT

Those BLM chants inspired a 167% increase in the number of ambush style killings of police officers on 2016.

Due to BLM and their pandering democrat overlords, shooting deaths of officers rose 56% in 2016.

They’re at it again. Mustering their clueless snowflakes for another go at destroying the USA.

This time playing for the Latino vote. Saying Trump is a racist for calling MS13 members ‘animals’.

Pelosi, who suddenly found religion, believes they're all 'children of God', with a 'spark of divinity'.

The above
All fake news
Really really fake news
I consider myself BLM
We are not against cops
We are against the racist cops.
White House gives a pass on all ethnic gangs except the Hispanic ones
I know better. No way I give a pass to other ethnic gangs
They are all deadly. They are all ruthless

Just as Alex Jones does not speak for you, fringe members of BLM do not speak for me
Aaron Schlossberg , Trump Supporter, screamed in a NYC eatery at people that can speak English but chose to converse in another language. With Tankos's logic, This man screaming represents all Trump supporters
sad

You must live in a fantasy world where all cops are honest
I live in the real world where a few cops are corrupt and racist
Its those few protected racist corrupt cops we are protesting

One sentence pretty much encompasses the right's current strategy against the investigation into Trump and cronies.

Quote:

Mr. Trump and his allies are trying to focus attention on the conduct of their pursuers, arguing that the F.B.I. or the special counsel investigating Russia’s involvement in the election have themselves stepped over the line.

I have to laugh at anyone who thinks Obama would get his hands dirty in the last 6-8 months of his Presidency for this. It would never be worth the trouble. Because everyone thought Trump still had no chance anyway including many Republicans.

Let’s say Obama did “set this up” for instance, do you think the investigation would keep going if he [Trump] didn’t get elected? I think it would’ve fizzled out pretty quickly, since it wouldn’t be worth the effort to “find” evidence when their goal would have already been met.

If someone is being investigated, they should absolutely call out the investigators who/if are crossing the line and not doing their jobs properly/fairly.

Have no idea.. Even if no one in the campaign knew who they were, there were Russians about, which probably attract the intelligence agencies anyway even if no actual wrongdoing going on, someone would be watching them likely.

Trump's unsecure phones makes Hillary's email server setup look like Fort Knox.

Will the real conservatives please stand up?

I LOVE how these corporate tax cuts are trickling down and creating jobs like conservatives promised.

“Tax reform can put American manufacturers and American companies like Harley-Davidson on a much better footing to compete in the global economy and keep jobs here in America,” Ryan told workers and company leaders.

took its tax cut,

I must always point out that a 'tax cut' just means the company is paying less to the federal government than it did the year before per dollar it earns. It DOES NOT mean that the company is not paying an appropriate amount. Democrats ALWAYS want the company to pay more, no matter what. Are you aware how much HD pays in taxes that you are now complaining about? (I'd bet the answer is a resounding NO!)

Once again I just get irked when someone complains that a company is distributing it's earnings to the owners (shareholders) instead of the Federal Government.....

Could you please direct some of your ire to the GOP who lied when selling the tax bill and said because of the tax cuts, companies would distribute their earnings to employees (and not the shareholders)?

The tax cuts have certainly benefited employees. Shareholders as well. Government too.

"Wages keep growing." CNBC

"Wage Growth Accelerates" Reuters

"Income at the disposal of households increased at a 3.4 percent rate in the first quarter, accelerating from the fourth quarter’s 1.1 percent pace. Households also boosted savings, which bodes well for a pickup in spending."

"In a separate report in Friday, the Labor Department said wages and salaries shot up 0.9 percent in the first quarter. That was the largest increase since the first quarter of 2007 and followed a 0.5 percent rise in the fourth quarter."

Tax revenues set a record in January as well. Up 5.2%. Investors Business Daily

Long time until November but it sure is nice to see concern in the liberal stronghold of CA.

The average middle class American who isn’t suffering from TDS is feeling good about the economy these days for good reasons.

The current 3.9% unemployment rate is the lowest in 65 years.

We won't see the real effect of the cuts for another sixteen months.

Harley Davidson didn’t move over seas. They scaled down in order to maximize efficiencies and improve competitive strength globally.

Would you prefer they raised their prices and lost market share, which could lead to bigger layoffs and possibly worse?

Thanks Tanko. ams just doesn't like your facts, so he deflects as usual. Pro business legislation and tax plans are good for business.... and those that work for them.... and those that own them.... And if you look at the April tax collection link it is good for the IRS as well.....

I've been a part owner in a business.... when we did better, our employees did better. Be it from decreased costs (lower taxes) or increased sales (more operations).

I’ve never understood why people, on either side, think when a new policy is put in place that the effects should be seen instantaneously.

If you’re working a job making $10/hr and get a raise to $11/hr, you’re not going to immediately see a gigantic difference. But over time, slowly but surely, that difference is going to add up.

Why did we even need the tax cuts then if the economy is so hot?

I'd have so much more respect for you righties if you could just come out and admit the tax bill was a huge giveaway to the rich donor class and was never ever meant to benefit the working class.

More and more Americans are figuring it out. That's why its popularity continues to sink.
