Yea that's my point, seems low. I can't find line cooks that want to work at $15, maybe I need to start hanging out with copter pilots.
You folks must be exhausted with all this winning.
Quote: billryanPresident of Mexico and the Head of the Boy Scouts both claim Trump was lying about recent phone calls they supposedly had. White House confirms no recent calls between P.O.t.u.S and Mexican President.
You folks must be exhausted with all this winning.
As always, winning comes down to how it effects the individual. My IRA and stock investments are winning, people seem to feel confident about their personal finances so they are spending money. Again this helps me win.
Would this have happened with Prez Hillary? Maybe but it seems most companies feel confident too so they are winning. You could argue they think Trump is an idiot and won't get in their way with regulations. Who cares, it's all about winning. And so far he hasn't found a way to reduce debt and government benefits, so those collecting are winning. Dems are raising record numbers of donations, they have to see that as a win.
Hard to find any losers since he has been elected. Perhaps those who fear they have something to lose if he actually got something done.

It's long term consequences some of us are concerned about. For instance, you improve production by loosening regulations there may be a price to pay.
10 years later, cancer rates are up. That's not winning. But it is typical rightwing thinking about winning -- hell to pay later, let's just make money and call it winning.
Seriously, though, the average American probably isn't seeing much winning OR losing under Trump. As with most Presidents, most people's day to day life isn't affected much if at all by what the President or Congress does.

With the debt rising year after year, no one in Washington cares about the future they are leaving for their kids.
I know someone who is a licensed airline parts refurbisher. The parts he receives are required by law to be refurbished at specific intervals of up to three years, depending on the part. Inside each part that he receives is a history of all the previous work that was done on the part. The airline companies are permitted to send the parts to Mexico for refurbishment. When he studies the records for the parts supposedly refurbished in Mexico, the records indicate the parts were refurbished, but when he examines the parts, he often finds the refurbishment was never done. Nothing was replaced, and planes have been flying with a part or parts that have not been refurbished in six years or longer.
Quote: TankoNothing was replaced, and planes have been flying with a part or parts that have not been refurbished in six years or longer.
That sounds terrifying, but it also speaks to the quality of the original parts and skills of the engineers that under those conditions there aren't far more airplane accidents than there are.
I still don't fly unless I absolutely have to.

Just wait till the GOP tries to pass massive tax cuts without paying for them...

Maverick helicopter pilots make 270/day or about 70k (as of 2012). Pilots at regional airlines earn a starting pay of between $43 and $98/hour. Per hour, meaning flight-hour. 1/2 that for duty hour and you are only allowed 100 hours per month. So conceiving a starting pilot could earn $43k, but that pay improves drastically with experience and training.
Quote: AxelWolfMaybe they get tips or something on top of the $15 an hr.
See the Grand Canyon by helicopter! Now only $50!
(Return trip from the Grand Canyon by helicopter $450)
And then the BoyScout and Mexican president comments today which is complete exaggeration / bull. Meanwhile Congress/Senate force a bill on Trump that he has to sign restricting himself from changing sanctions against Russia.
And by Boz's definition of winning there were plenty of winning going on towards the end of Obama's term. And plenty of "winning" is going on today.
Quote: ams288Just wait till the GOP tries to pass massive tax cuts without paying for them...
I don't disagree but it proves my point they both are unwilling to make the hard decisions needed to financially secure the future. But the public has no appetite for spending cuts or tax increases unless it doesn't effect them. Everyone wants the other guy to pay more, just not them.

Trump urged Mexican president to end his public defiance on border wall, transcript reveals
Everyone knows the "Mexico will pay for the wall" line was B.S. (except the Trumpsters, apparently). Now we have confirmation from Donald himself.
Quote:He described the wall as the least important thing we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important.
Quote:To solve that problem, Trump pressured Peña Nieto to suppress the issue. When pressed on who would pay for the wall, We should both say, We will work it out. It will work out in the formula somehow, Trump said. As opposed to you saying, We will not pay, and me saying, We will not pay.
Peña Nieto resisted, saying that Trumps repeated threats had placed a very big mark on our back, Mr. President. He warned that my position has been and will continue to be very firm, saying that Mexico cannot pay for the wall.
Trump objected: But you cannot say that to the press. The press is going to go with that, and I cannot live with that.

Quote: ams288The Washington Post has obtained transcripts of Donald's January calls with the leaders of Mexico and Australia.
Wow. Just WOW!.
Never mind the abridged versions and extracts, read the full transcripts. They reveal an ignoramus so fsking clueless and wrapped up in prejudice that he gives a bad reputation to our species.
He clearly didn't know that START treaties were not trade agreements or agreements about immigration. He doesn't realise that economic migrants restricted from entry to Australia were only restricted as a measure to deter people smugglers and sees them as convicted prisoners and 'bad people'. And even when it's spoon fed to him that he has a get-out from accepting those poor souls, he still didn't get it. What a mindless knob.
Lucky he doesn't have to figure out anything complex.
I can hardly wait to hear the transcripts of his many chats with pooty ( Pootie will have those to hand )
As for the conversation with Mexico he knows (and so does everyone) that a renegotiation of NAFTA and balancing the trade deficit will pay for the wall.

Tax Reform and Healthcare will just be bigly excuses for him to be critical of his GOP traitors.
Now, on the very VERY near horizon, there is the minor issue of the debt ceiling. Tick Tock TICK TOCK. BOOM.
None of it will be his fault, of course.

This leak is pure CIA.
It was in retaliation for Trump ending support for the CIA backed Syrian rebels.
The dirtbag Syrian rebels supported by the dirtbag CIA joyfully beheaded this poor ragged ten year old boy fighter, and proudly posted the video on the Internet.
If MSM covered this story, I didnt see it.
Trump saw the video, and in disgust, immediately ordered and end to the dirtbag CIA support for Syrian rebels.
Days later, Jeff Bozos WAPO, distributor of CIA propaganda, tried to make Trump look like the bad guy and reported Syrian rebels feel betrayed by US, never mentioning the beheading.

Special Counsel Mueller Impanels Washington Grand Jury in Russia Probe
Quote:This is yet a further sign that there is a long-term, large-scale series of prosecutions being contemplated and being pursued by the special counsel, said Stephen I. Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas. If there was already a grand jury in Alexandria looking at Flynn, there would be no need to reinvent the wheel for the same guy. This suggests that the investigation is bigger and wider than Flynn, perhaps substantially so.

But it is also funny that the GOP Voters don't trust the Senate. If the Dems didn't have such a disadvantage on members up for reelection next year, they would easily win the Senate back.

Trump still has too big of a fanbase for many Congressmen to bail on him. If his approval rating ever gets down into the teens, then he's in REAL trouble with the House and Senate, because they won't have to appease their constituents anymore.

Sounds like the Fox reporter could use a job at the North Korean state news agency. The only difference is that North Korea only has one news agency. Luckily, we still have the freedom to hear the rest, despite the Executive branch's attempt to marginalize them at every turn.
When do the Trump statues go up?
Don't get me wrong. I am sure Trump would want nothing more but to be a great president. The problem is that he lacks the skills to do so. I am sure that his team will knock out a few really good trade agreements. But he has already failed miserably on diplomacy and foreign issues. He overly reacts to things he watches on TV. He lacks analytical capabilities and does not have the capacity to think things through. He hires people who are loyal to him rather than people who can perform their job well.
But he can shovel manure better than anyone else, and people (including MSM) eat it all up. Yum.

Yeah, this is what I don't get. Trump is objectively a bad President. I don't see how anyone can argue otherwise. I mean, you can look at most other Presidents and, regardless of what policies they supported or enacted, you can tell they at least handled the job in a professional manner. Trump is not handling the office well at all. I mean, just by the nature of the job, I'm sure some good bills and/or laws or whatever will come to pass, but any idiot with a pen will eventually sign off on something good if it's their job 24/7/365.
Trump has no idea what he's doing. He is literally acting like a child. I 100% believe he has some kind of serious mental disability. He is a narcissist and a pathological liar. It's kind of baffling to me that there haven't been efforts to remove him from office, but like I said somewhere else on here, I think everyone is just so stunned that this is happening they're kind of frozen and they don't really know what to do. They're just kind of hoping it will somehow go away on it's own. It might. In 3 1/2 years.
