Or what about the part where she opens with, HI I'm Aimee, I'm a hot 21 year old girl. Check out my picture. I need help from all you guys. Could you help little ol' me?

Oh, yeah, that part should have been suspect too. To quote Homer Simpson, ,"D'oh!"

I don't care what anyone else says Nathan, you and I know that the pic of her bare legs in a bikini really was the only one left after her computer crashed AND it was posted here with only innocent intentions
Quote: beachbumbabsSorry to have to report this to those who were buying in, but based on an internal investigation over the last few days, Aimee21 is a Nigerian prince equivalent and this is a con.
No determination can be made at this point, for sure, whether it is a former banned member or not.
Aimee21 is nuked.
Okay. Thank you BBB and all the other Green Inkers and IP-address tracers. Better a tad bit late than not at all.
I wonder what the goal was? Entertainment? Please send me some gambling money? Please send me your bank account info? Beats me.
I guess I'm far too trusting, honest and hoplessly naive. Besides, I thought IP addresses were more readily available to the Green Inkers.
Well, fat doddering pauper skulks away in shame ..... (slink, slink, slink.)

Join the party, I fell for Aimee's scam too! Who knows, she may have ended up asking WOV members for money down the road if the Moderators didn't nuke her(BBB did say she was the equivalent of a Nigerian Prince con)
Quote: michael99000I don't care what anyone else says Nathan, you and I know that the pic of her bare legs in a bikini really was the only one left after her computer crashed AND it was posted here with only innocent intentions
Can't believe I fell for that! Can't believe I actually believed her when she said the bikini picture was posted with innocent intentions! SMH!
I think that is merely a reference to all these spam emails supposedly from Nigerian royalty with banking problems.Quote: alphastormI didn't read this whole thread so is this Aimee a Nigerian Prince or not?
What it means is that Aimee21 is NOT what she pretended to be based on IP Addresses that have probably been associated with other trolling or spam posts at similar sites.
When she named her friend Kacy I started to have suspicions because google returned so many Aimee and Kacy hits...and that was strange.

Not agreeing with your criticism of me/us in this case, but not willing to argue it in public. Not interested in informing any future spammer or trolls about what I can and can't do or see. But as I said before, suspicions are not enough. There needs to be an identifiable issue. Sometimes that takes time.

BBB, thank you for stopping the future scammer before she could ask any of us for money. I still can't believe I fell for her ruse and even publicly stood up for her multiple times.

Not likely a girl comes here to pretend to be a girl. I say 2% chance. You can hang on to that life preserver if you need to.

It didn't matter either way, I just wanted someone who was willing to make a line and bet it. I would figure out if I thought it was a good bet or not and possibly make a counter offer.Quote: odiousgambitthe 'yes' on she is real or the 'yes' on she is *not* real?
I would not have put up very much on something like this either way, perhaps just a small bet for fun. I love betting stuff like this, not for the money, I just like being right and winning something for it.
The odds that she was a hot young, loose 21 year old girl looking for some Vegas vacation advice( 18 yo's in a row odds comes to mind). The fact that people fell for it and actually gave "her" advice... ABSUF**KINGLUTLY PRICELESS.
The fact that JJ was indeed who she said she was will always give some hope to the big dreamers. A dream that one day they will find their gambling goddess(or just some slutty girl who's into them) right here on WOV.
I'm not sure about JJ's age, I think she may have under-exaggerated that a bit. However, anyone here that was into the Asian persuasion would have been more than happy with her appareance, fun crazy nature and possible promiscuoussness. She was actually a cool chick in my book.
For the dreamers. Don't let this little hiccup kill your hops and dreams.
P.S. I'm betting this thread was a few WOV rejects yank porn.
And Aimee will be in LV soon after.Quote: NathanBlasphemy! It can't be true that Aimee was really a guy!You guys are such good kidders, but April Fools Day is almost three months away! It's only January! *laughs nervously!*
You guys can go slotting together.
It's not always true, might not even be usually true. There are a lot of people using pictures of someone else on the internet. The catfish show usually has women pretending to be more attractive women more often than men doing it, but that's a show and their choices may be skewed. Almost all men have been scammed by women pretending to be other women even when you look right at their face.Quote: NathanBlasphemy! If it was a transexual who really did look like aimmee pretended would that be a satisfactory halfway point for u
It's over.

Here ya go:
Is it me, or does the one on the left look a lot like Aimee?Quote: MrV
Interesting question.Quote: ETIt wasn't even a good con lmao. The real reason is why.
If in fact it was a Nigerian scammer, it would be wise for them to weed out anyone but the most gullible people. If someone is dumb enough to believe in something that is so obviously fake, it would be more likely that person would give them money.

Nathan,
To be quite honest, I think that Nathan is more of a made up character than a real persona.
That being said, did Nathan engage in some personal messaging with Aimee?
Maybe some off-forum asignations and even a bit of sexting?
Was Nathan doing what young guys do while drooling over Aimee's posts?
Well,, Nathan, I can confirm that Aimee was indeed male. He probably had great fun. Maybe he glopped off over your contributions to his thread.
It's very hard for me to believe anyone half way normal can be as naive as his posts indicate.Quote: OnceDearNathan,

That's exactly why email scams are so badly misspelled. Anyone who catches the misspellings is far less likely to fall for the scam than someone who doesn't.Quote: AxelWolfIf in fact it was a Nigerian scammer, it would be wise for them to weed out anyone but the most gullible people. I'll probablly never figure out WHY an imposter would show up at WOV.
If it was to obtain some gambling funds, I'm sure it would never have worked. I have heard of a bus load of low rollers being waylaid out in the middle of nowhere wile enroute to Vegas, but what could Aimee21 have done? Arrange to meet some gamblers 'at her favorite pizza joint and then move on to the casino'? They could then waylay the gambler when he shows up with his bankroll. Seems strange though.
Just finding a common interest to get someone interested in contacting "her". Someone lonely or gullible they can trick into giving them money. It happens frequently and people get scammed for large amounts of money all the time.Quote: FleaStiffI've never figured out how misspellings work in those emails.

Remember there a very good chance they found out about this site from another site that encourages and has has lots of binary and forex, system players. There is quite a few fake female profiles.
This Aimme is a guy but has a lot of stupid gambling questions. He doesn't want to feel like an idiot asking noobie questions. He feels he can get more attention and answers if he were to pose as a hot 21 year old girl. Who wouldn't be nice to a hot chick? Especially in a forum that is 99% male. Problem solved.

99.54%
(S)he began by asking questions that were easy to answer or were matters of opinion. Anyone who answered in a friendly manner could be characterized as approachable (in the context of this forum). Further questions confirmed those members willing to engage in conversation and gave the OP some idea of the level of familiarity with Las Vegas. Right before the plug was pulled by BBB the questions took a more personal turn - Where do you live? and Where do you play?
If AIMEE was planning some sort of scam in Las Vegas it would seem reasonable to target a member that could afford frequent trips there (as evidenced by their familiarity with the city) and that lived elsewhere ( much easier to pull one over on a mark that has to leave town soon).
I may be completely wrong, but I think that BBB may have saved one or more members of the forum from embarrassment, financial or otherwise.
It is quite possible, though unknowable, that the most vital question was the 'where do you play'... since this is a general indication of wealth as is number of trips. Think of a frequent player who stays at The Wynn/Encore type places ... it means wealth. Meet, gamble a bit.. things get a little 'frisky' , he can't take Aimee to his room perhaps due to the wife, so it becomes come on up to my room... he gets what he wants but so does she: photographs.Quote: DTRobersIf AIMEE was planning some sort of scam in Las Vegas it would seem reasonable to target a member that could afford frequent trips there (as evidenced by their familiarity with the city) and that lived elsewhere ( much easier to pull one over on a mark that has to leave town soon).

Nah!! Too melodramatic.
Probably just a pesky nutcase trolling lots of internet forums for fun rather some dude getting a list of high paying clients for his girlfriend to blackmail.
I would tend to believe a Nigerian prince/conman would not spend the time or open such a long window for forensics. I don't believe those cons work that way. It may have been an independent type if scheme allowing more time to swindle. Or just someone playing games.Quote: AxelWolfInteresting question.

IMO.
Although it was a fun read while it lasted and the afterglow 'what if's' and things are also entertaining to read.
Onward and upward.
Aimee is a guy just goofing with our forum members, all just a BIG STUPID joke. Probably someone with a beef for getting "nuked" or a friend of someone who was nuked. That's all, whatever.....Quote: alphastormHere's my take on this:
