I think that is merely a reference to all these spam emails supposedly from Nigerian royalty with banking problems.

What it means is that Aimee21 is NOT what she pretended to be based on IP Addresses that have probably been associated with other trolling or spam posts at similar sites.

When she named her friend Kacy I started to have suspicions because google returned so many Aimee and Kacy hits...and that was strange.

Not agreeing with your criticism of me/us in this case, but not willing to argue it in public. Not interested in informing any future spammer or trolls about what I can and can't do or see. But as I said before, suspicions are not enough. There needs to be an identifiable issue. Sometimes that takes time.

It's not always true, might not even be usually true. There are a lot of people using pictures of someone else on the internet. The catfish show usually has women pretending to be more attractive women more often than men doing it, but that's a show and their choices may be skewed. Almost all men have been scammed by women pretending to be other women even when you look right at their face.

If in fact it was a Nigerian scammer, it would be wise for them to weed out anyone but the most gullible people. If someone is dumb enough to believe in something that is so obviously fake, it would be more likely that person would give them money.

That's exactly why email scams are so badly misspelled. Anyone who catches the misspellings is far less likely to fall for the scam than someone who doesn't.

I'll probablly never figure out WHY an imposter would show up at WOV.

If it was to obtain some gambling funds, I'm sure it would never have worked. I have heard of a bus load of low rollers being waylaid out in the middle of nowhere wile enroute to Vegas, but what could Aimee21 have done? Arrange to meet some gamblers 'at her favorite pizza joint and then move on to the casino'? They could then waylay the gambler when he shows up with his bankroll. Seems strange though.

Just finding a common interest to get someone interested in contacting "her". Someone lonely or gullible they can trick into giving them money. It happens frequently and people get scammed for large amounts of money all the time.

Remember there a very good chance they found out about this site from another site that encourages and has has lots of binary and forex, system players. There is quite a few fake female profiles.

This Aimme is a guy but has a lot of stupid gambling questions. He doesn't want to feel like an idiot asking noobie questions. He feels he can get more attention and answers if he were to pose as a hot 21 year old girl. Who wouldn't be nice to a hot chick? Especially in a forum that is 99% male. Problem solved.

Alphastorm may be correct in his theory that AIMME is a guy just trying for friendly response to his noob-level questions. On the other hand if we look at the thread as a whole there seems to me a definite and troubling direction to AIMME's posts.

(S)he began by asking questions that were easy to answer or were matters of opinion. Anyone who answered in a friendly manner could be characterized as approachable (in the context of this forum). Further questions confirmed those members willing to engage in conversation and gave the OP some idea of the level of familiarity with Las Vegas. Right before the plug was pulled by BBB the questions took a more personal turn - Where do you live? and Where do you play?

If AIMEE was planning some sort of scam in Las Vegas it would seem reasonable to target a member that could afford frequent trips there (as evidenced by their familiarity with the city) and that lived elsewhere ( much easier to pull one over on a mark that has to leave town soon).

I may be completely wrong, but I think that BBB may have saved one or more members of the forum from embarrassment, financial or otherwise.

It is quite possible, though unknowable, that the most vital question was the 'where do you play'... since this is a general indication of wealth as is number of trips. Think of a frequent player who stays at The Wynn/Encore type places ... it means wealth. Meet, gamble a bit.. things get a little 'frisky' , he can't take Aimee to his room perhaps due to the wife, so it becomes come on up to my room... he gets what he wants but so does she: photographs.
Nah!! Too melodramatic.
Probably just a pesky nutcase trolling lots of internet forums for fun rather some dude getting a list of high paying clients for his girlfriend to blackmail.

Oh yeah, that WAS weird that Aimee went from asking normal questions like,"What are the best games in Vegas to play?" To borderline creepy and personal questions such as "Where do you live?" Good catch. I can't believe I fell for her ruse. Good catch for the other posters who saw she was fishy from like the first page and were already saying stuff like,"I'll bet Aimee is a Troll."

I would tend to believe a Nigerian prince/conman would not spend the time or open such a long window for forensics. I don't believe those cons work that way. It may have been an independent type if scheme allowing more time to swindle. Or just someone playing games.

I have no opinions on peoples judgement calls on this thread as anyone can make mistakes.
Although it was a fun read while it lasted and the afterglow 'what if's' and things are also entertaining to read.
