How's it doing in the US
In Britain the BBC is dropping it after a two year trial.
I can't say I'm bothered myself.

Badly. ESPN 3D (the only network that went anywhere) is giving up too.

In a few more years, the current work on a virtual reality prototype for gaming will probably put 3d to rest. At least for people interested in a wow factor in entertainment. I would expect something to emerge in the cinema area/tv for virtual at some point -- maybe short works at first. But sure see no reason why directors won't be interested in immersion type entertainment.

Doubt they'll be wasting technology efforts on your average show, so don't think TV will be disappearing anytime soon.
There's no secret. Just know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.

I don't see it going anywhere. People don't sit and stare at the TV as they did decades ago most times.

You got that right, 99% of the time a TV is more entertaining when it's turned off.

The reason I put so much into retirement is because when I retire, I want to buy my own holodeck. It's gonna happen.

People seem to think that Ultra High Def TV, or OLED TV is the features that people like.

Things like 3D and even high frame rate (48fps) movies seem unnatural. I didn't see the Hobbit, but you are hard pressed to find someone who liked the 48fps.

Aroma Scope didn't last very long either.
