It means just what it says. I didn't state any numbers because a lot of people don't like sharing actual amounts that they've lost.

I include Wall Street in my gambling take. If I consider only casino gambling, I'm down. When I factor in Wall Street, I'm way way up. Thank you Tesla Motors!

Gambling - up for the last 12 months.
Lifetime gambling -- down.
I'm pretty sure I'll never stick strictly to AP play which these days would only be VP, so it's more a matter of how fast I go down, not whether.

I'm up in both. In casino gambling, we're talking low roller [yawn] but I am still up. Lifetime down. Being up in the stock market is where I would expect investors to be, speculators are always taking their chances. I seemed to have timed it OK getting out of gold.

I'm a member of the Low Roller Club, and proud of it. Mrs. Q is evolving into a slots player, which I used to struggle with more, but I can see that generally she gets much better comps (and I value those) so I go along for the ride. We've gotten several free hotel nights this year.
My play this year has been 95 % VP. And most of that was 9/6 JoB when Horseshue Cleve was giving a car away each day in February.
So, thanks to an extremely lucky Royal Flush on a crappy paytable on a cruise ship, I am:
Up $ 520.
I am pretty sure this is accurate +/- $ 20 bucks or so. I have a little notebook where I record the daily results.
We are heading to Vegas in a few weeks, and are comped at a mid-range Strip property. Haven't stayed there before, so I get to add it to my list ! We'll be seeing more shows than normal thanks to myVegas.

I was down significantly in your end of march poll for the first 3 months of the year, but an astronomical 5 week period in April/May turned things around for me in a huge way. I won more in that 5 week period than any single year of my 10 year career of advantage play. It was truly a monster run. many, many times above SD for the amount of play. After that run, I was able to take some time off, which I rarely do, while I prepared to move and moved into my new home. With such a strong first half in the books, I am really looking forward to the rest of the year. :)

I have had more "even" trips than usual but the Vegas trip in May was enough to keep me on the "down" side for a while.
I did well at some locals and poorly at others, but it is the shear amount of time at the tables that ate me up in Vegas. I was down my daily bankroll the first two and a half days and had a bit of a comeback the last day and a half--I basically lost nothing and won enough to bring more than two days worth of bankroll home and to pay for all the expenses of the six people (including me) that were in out group, but not enough to call it "even"...
Harrah's New Orleans took $500 like it was nothing...Treasure Island (Keener) gave me back some of it, but not all of it.
That has been my year so far...we'll see how I do in Biloxi later on this month..

I'm up pretty solidly for 2013, so much so that I spent some of my winnings on discretionary goods: a BBQ Guru for my kamado grill/smoker. It was only a few hundo, but i figured get it now while I'm up, it only takes an hour or so to lose that back.
Last 4 trips have been solidly positive, my estimate is up about $3500 for the year.

Up on 3 Las Vegas/ Laughlin trips, down much more on AC and PA trips. So a loss for the YTD.

Down in 2013 but so well up in 2012 I'm still playing with the profit.
You have to keep very accurate accounts and also allow for all expenses whilst gambling.
