How the hell does the second sentence refute the first? LOL!!! You've gotta be the most intellectually dishonest person in this thread. *facepalm*

Socialism never works. Vets have socialized medicine
Capitalism never works. Walmarts make money in a capitalist manner.
Stop damaging your brain with facepalming.
So you're seriously arguing that "having" something is proof that it "works"??? I know guys who "have" brains, yet there's no proof that they "work".
Your arguments are looking more stupid than ever.Quote: rxwineYour posts are looking more stupid than ever.
Keep digging the stupid hole. It's getting deeper.
Haha...it's called an analogy. I guess I shouldn't assume that you know what such devices are.Quote: rxwineOh, now you're saying vets socialized medicine is like a dead brain and doesn't work.
I hope Obama uses the gr8rxwine argument:
CANCER PATIENT: "My health plan just got canceled! Obamacare doesn't work!"
OBAMA: "Nuh uh! Three people have it, so it does work!"
lol!
That pretty much sucks as a poster here.
"Socialism works" because "vets have socialized medicine."
(Sorry, have to do another *facepalm* at this lame argument of yours) *facepalm*
Funny, you can't even make a simple point and not get it wrong.
By your (insane) definition, communism worked in the Soviet Union because they "had" it. *facepalm*
Quote: Beethoven9thWhat I'm saying is that you can't tell the difference between something that you "have" and something that "works". And you know what's even funnier? You STILL don't know...lol
By your (insane) definition, communism worked in the Soviet Union because they "had" it. *facepalm*
Your example didn't prove anything about the original example.
If I say "never" or "always" works, that is inclusive.
I showed one example of socialism working in military healthcare against the phrase "never works" and that disproves it.
Try again.
Quote: rxwineIf I say "never" or "always" works, that is inclusive.
You're hilarious. You're focusing on "never" when you should be focusing on "works". Now that I know how much (little?) thought you put into your arguments, I can understand why you're a liberal. lol!
Do you really need this explained?

Employer-financed health care and, in this example, employer-operated health care do not make up a definition or part of a definition of socialism.Quote: rxwineYou're saying it doesn't work? Better call your rep and ask what the money is being spent on then if not at the veterans hospitals and clinics. Are they being treated for stuff or not? LOL.
Unfortunately, rxwine would rather talk, not listen.

More crap..
So have I, in decades of being a shop steward and committee chair person. I'd also add that I've seen more worthy (but maybe outspoken or out of favor) colleagues protected by my union than those who did not carry their load. And that includes successfully representing non-member workers in the bargaining unit in activities like grievances and arbitrations.Quote: petroglyphI too have seen people on the job who had no business being there.

Your pretense at making a successful point is just more immaturity.
I at last figured out that Beethoven9th wasn't worthy of any effort with which to engage in dabate when he went to the moderators to cry about how his feelings were hurt about being called a gay. So after that little tantrum, he can say whatever he wants to say but it's not going to get any response from me.Quote: rxwineYour pretense at making a successful point is just more immaturity.
By the way Beethoven9th is totally not a gay. I just wanted to make that clear before he goes back to the moderators and cries again.

What union is that?

I, at last, figured out that s2dbaker wasn't worthy of any effort with which to engage in debate when he went and cried about how racist "Redskins" is, yet he continues to needlessly utter the racist remark "flied lice". It's even more disturbing because I believe he is of Hispanic descent, so he should know better. So after his little Redskins tantrum, he can say whatever he wants to say, but it will not get any further response from me.
By the way, s2dbaker is not a racist. He just repeats a remark that may be viewed as racist by Japanese people. I just wanted to make that clear before he goes to the moderators and cries.
There is a set of people who don't qualify for medicaid (they make too much) but also can't pay health insurance (because it's too expensive), and this is the portion of the population that really is precarious. These are hard working, underachieving Americans who are probably making between $20 and $50k per year who can afford a modest place to live but can't afford the premiums for health insurance. These are some people who are going uninsured or underinsured, know that if something catastrophic happens to hit them, they're screwed. Preventative care goes against their deductible, so they don't bother to see their doctor or get treatment if they are hurt. Or the pharma that they are prescribed is too expensive, so they don't get it or they lower their own dosage. Or the operation they need is not affordable. And up until a year or so ago, the insurance company could just drop you if you got too risky.
There are at least two studies out there that show that the risk of dying for those uninsured ranges between 25 to 40% higher than those insured, which translates to at least 26,000 extra deaths per year for those who are uninsured. You can take those numbers and throw it against socialized medicine in every single westernized country.
Private insurance works great if you or your employer can afford it or if daddy's paying it for you. It also works wonders if you are young and don't require medical care. But don't kid yourself that costs arent going up year over year and it's not due solely to usage. And when those costs are >> inflation, what you end up is a degraded middle class as the gap between rich and poor gets greater.
That said, ObamaCare still sucks. There are some achievements but mostly failures.

Okay, how about the Forbes article link here that estimates that at least 26,000 people die each year because they are not insured. How's that for an anecdote???
I have to concede Canada's system works well. Woof Woof.

According to guys like rxwine, socialized medicine in Canada works because they "have" it and because some people "like" it. lol...
In fact, using rxwine's silly logic, the American health care system works because we "have" it and because some of us "like" it. (See what a dumb argument this is, folks?)

Beethoven thinks Veterans are stupid. Right Beethoven?
I quote myself from earlier.
Quote:My argument is veterans would be smart enough to oppose the socialism in mass if it wasn't working for them. You got a problem with that? ARE you going to call veterans stupid by saying they wouldn't know better
Quote: rxwineBeethoven thinks Veterans are stupid. Right Beethoven?
rxwine thinks Americans are stupid. Right, rxwine? (According to Gallup, 55% of Americans reject Obamacare)
BTW, I see that you still haven't figured out the difference between something that you "have" and something that "works". lol
Why do you think Military vets are so stupid. That's disgraceful.
Why do you think Americans are so stupid? That's disgraceful.
If you want to perpetuate the lie that the Vets system is not working, go ahead.
Why does Beethveen think military veterans are stupid.
If you want to perpetuate the lie that the American health care system is not working, go ahead.
Why does rxwine think Americans are stupid???
There's nothing underway to get rid of government controlled veterans admin care. If it wasn't working as you say, something else would be needed.
(rxwine = *facepalm* inducer)
Quote: Beethoven9thYou still haven't figured out the difference between something that you "have" and something that "works", huh? *facepalm*
Like your brain? Even I will admit that your brain works. Since I know what we are talking about specifically, I know it works.
Just any brain? No. But I was specific in my other argument too.

Uh oh...sounds like rxwine is p*ssed. Control yourself, rxwine. ;)
Quote: rxwineThat's only if the premise is false. The premise that socialized medicine is working for vets is true. Sorry buddy. No it doesn't have to make every vet happy.

Go through a VA Hospital and see if socialized medicine is "working." They are very sad places, many falling apart at the seams.
