South Point will open their ballroom, exhibit hall, etc. at 10:30am ...Kickoff is 3:15pm. Open Seating, betting stations. Lots of full size TV sets to watch the game on. You can book the party now and you can book rooms now but on Jan 21st they start a 72 hour sale with rooms starting at 109.00.

Please note: South Point will evict BJ card counters who are red chippers. Nice large rooms but same ownership as the Hell Cortez.

It is not the same ownership as El Cortez, and never has been. SouthPoint is solely owned by Michael Gaughan, after he made a deal with Boyd Gaming to trade his stock & equity in other properties of theirs (that he got from merging his Coast Casinos chain with Boyd) for SP. His father Jackie Gaughan Sr. use to own the El Cortez, but he sold it to Kenny Epstein years ago before he died. They did contract with SouthPoint to operate their sports book for a while, but that was nearly a decade ago and the sports book at El Cortez is now run by Station Casinos with no connection to SouthPoint.

Not that it matters. The rooms are still nice & big, like you said. Buffet down there is a good deal too, IMO.
Suck dope, watch TV, make up stuff, be somebody on the internet.
