This casino has large clean rooms and a pool for a reasonable rate. A lot of people want to go to Hard Rock (across the street) and are put off by the high room rates (especially on weekends). Terribles is a good alternative to Comfort Inn, Crown Plaza or the Embassy Suites in the same block. Food selection in the casino is minimal, (cafe and a buffet) but there are several good places within a few hundred yards.
=============
Morton's steak house just across Flamingo Blvd. Ghandi's just north of Morton's Steak House is in a crappy looking mall, but it is very pretty inside with excellent food. Origin India is also wonderful but pricier than Ghandi's. Roy's famous Hawaiian Cuisine. Hofbrauhaus is 700 yards down the street. Buca De Beppo for Italian. Bahama Breeze, McCormick and Schmick's Seafood, Cozymel Mexican food, PF Chang's China Bistro, are all within a short walk. Not to mention the fine dining in Hard Rock casino.

I've been informed that Terrible's also offers free wireless internet.

They have Free Wi Fi, 42” Plasma TV with Cable, Telephone, Voicemail and Coffee Maker, Gourmet Coffee, and Tea, Hairdryer. Iron, Ironing Board, Roll Away Beds, Cribs and Refrigerators available upon request.

Spring for a new tower room. They are over three decades newer and are worth the extra money.

I guess this is an example of how one bad experience can tarnish an establishment forever.

I had spent Dead Week at the Venetian and checked out having an overly optimistic estimate of airport screening procedures. Failing to realize that a good many other casinos would probably have had space available at reasonable rates, I opted for what I had heard was the closest place to the airport since I would need an early morning shuttle.

Perhaps I did arrive at Terribles a bit pissed off at the Venetian quoting me 765 or a night or some such absurd figure, but I was also pissed off at Terribles having a leaky fixture in the bathroom and a hallway that made my companion feel unsafe.

I liked the fact that the sundries were priced reasonably rather than those eight dollar toothbrushes at the Venetian but overall I found the place was dark, crowded and the food almost inedible of very limited variety on the buffet.

I guess perhaps my negative view of Terribles was also influenced by a noisy drunk at the craps table and the fact that I was losing!

Oh my God, you can't eat there! There are dozens of restaurants within a short walk. The buffet is really terrible (no pun).

Ghandi's is superb, and within a short walk in a shabby strip mall. Very good food, and nice looking on the inside, but you might skip it based on the outside.

We also missed a flight, unfortunately due to I-15 being closed down due to a bad accident in July 2009.

So as the plane pulled away from the gate, we scrambled to find a place to stay. We booked Terrible's, the rate was very reasonable even though it was a weekend, and they came and got us at the airport ( we had already returned the rental car ).

Our room was fine, it must have been in the new tower rooms. Anyway, we had a nice experience there, I think they even gave us a couple of free T-shirts because our bags were checked-in at McCarran.
There's emptiness behind their eyes There's dust in all their hearts They just want to steal us all and take us all apart

Silver Sevens now has a mandatory hotel resort fee. Most Vegas hotels are doing this now because they can still advertise the low rate, and then ADD the mandatory resort fee. IE. Our rate is 29.00 still (oh but yes we charge 10.00 mandatory resort fee on top of that). In reality their rate (in this example would be 39.00), but 29.00 looks much better to lure you in, and then only to learn that there is a MANDATORY resort fee. I am not complaining about it, but just be aware of it. Actually the Silver Sevens resort fee of 10.00 is not bad. Most of the other Vegas hotels have a much higher resort fee. The fee at Silver Sevens does include slow internet now. In the past prior to the resort fee, the internet was 10.00, but you had an option to purchase it. Now you have no option. It is simply added on to your per room rate per night. A few years ago, Terribles had free internet and no resort fee. Those were the days, but I guess they gotta make money, so they have implemented these resort fees just like everyone else. If you get your room comped, then there is no fee. The entire cost will be zero with a regular comp from the host or the pit boss.
