Up until now, many places give you....if not nothing, then very little for table play at low and medium stakes. But they have at least used earning points as an excuse to hound players for their card. Now, there is no reason for ANYONE to play rated at the tables. The casino shouldn't even be asking for people's cards right? And they certainly shouldn't be surprised when players don't bother with a card.

In other words, this policy should provide cover for counters that want to play unrated. ;/

Haha, good luck with that at Cosmo.

I think it's just weird wording on their part.

For example, with MLife, you don't get "points" for table play like you do slot play, but you definitely get credit for it.

I'd assume that this is similar, there is just no standard 1 point=$20 wagered rule anymore.

My understanding is that you will still earn comps, just not points. Points are only being given for slot play. Most player tracking systems can account for comps and point seperately.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Yes, I'm sure comps will still be available for table games, but it seems bizarre that they wouldn't give tier status to someone betting $20,000 a hand at baccarat, for example. I was going to spread some action there next trip to see if I could generate any offers, but now I won't bother. I thought one of Blackstone's goals was to increase casino revenues. This seems counterproductive to that.

If comps are still available and all you want are offers... Why is this a reason not to try?

Yeah, that's... weird.

Won't this just discourage high rollers from playing there? This is dumb.

This is a generic response template that can be used for each and every policy the Cosmo has ever had or will ever have. It has been the most changeable and unfocused casino in town. Its a Strutters and Gawkers place where the Swells and Botox Beauties are outnumbered only by the various policy memoranda that keep fluttering about the place.

I think they need to be clearer about what you can and cannot get from playing rated at a table anymore. Someone on Facebook asked the question if it is true you no longer earn Identity Points on table games and their facebook rep just stated "yes it is true".

In the past Identity Points could be used for free play on slots and VP, even after being earned at a table. Perhaps this is what they are talking about.

But the way they posted it, who knows?

They also changed the amount needed to earn a point from $1.50 to $2.50 on slots. However they did reduce the VP number from $7.50 to $6.

I'm Gold over there, they took away 3X points after midnight, only Platinum now. As they told me, "changes to the program"

Positives are great dining options and best rooms on the strip. Decent HL room action if you find the right machines. I've had a number of HPs over the years there.

HLgrinder,

I like the Cosmo especially since they are part of the Marriott chain. I'm disappointed in the changes they've made as well with Identity, but my wife always made out better on the slots than I did at the tables for points. I've made the most points by billing to my room, the 5x multiplier counts for tier status unlike slot multipliers. I agree with you, they definitely have excellent rooms and dining in my opinion, have to work on keeping my gold in order to keep the offers coming.

Yeah, I've seen a decline in the value of my offers as well. Still getting a lot of concert tickets, but not as good room offers or free play.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Funny, I've started getting concert ticket offers as well. My wife usually gets 3-4 day offers and only get 2 days and they come in monthly, but for the most part they are probably roll overs from previous months. (We don't go on every offer handed to us.)
