New owners only input so far has been my suspension. Wait until they actually exercise control on Odds and this site before rushing to judgement. Sites were not bought for social input, but profit centers. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
I just never liked touts, but that's just me.

Look at October compared to the September massacre. I'm only counting four in October because Ahigh was a self suspension and piggysuey was nuked as soon as he joined and posted something that no one remembers.
The F word seems to be making a comeback but no one seems overly concerned.

It's fun to watch, isn't it?
Some of it's conditional. The sale really upped the shouting. Some seemed to get really mad about it, and that attitude colors the site. If you go ape on a topic, a bit of that is surely going to seep out. The run up to the election also draws darker the lines that separate us all. Even the months probably matter a little. I suspect most of us north of the Mason-Dixon no longer have the energy to fight and cry about, now that the eternal grey is upon us. Perhaps we'll see a spike in das boot once April rolls back around =)
Addition and subtraction also matter a great deal, methinks. I might catch flak for saying it, but I think +&- is the biggest culprit.

22 total offense, 5 of which were spam / dupe accounts that are expected. So of the 17 remaining, 11 of them were just the few issues listed above. Without those few issues, the suspensions are on par with the time we had little to no rules and no mods outside of Wiz.
The sale is over, Ahigh is gone, B9 is gone. So long as HB remains pleased with her appearance, November should be a boring month indeed =)

I think that no one can really moderate a forum in which they don't actively participate. Moderation is like being a football official--there are things on every play that "could" be penalties but officials have to decide what is bad enough to call or the games would be flag fests and have no flow to them at all.
Your the commissioner, not one of the referees. If you want to call the plays from on high and be insulted when anyone says anything, that is up to you since you represent/are ownership (I admit I am not clear on that issue). If it were me and I had no real time to invest in the forum, I'd not use my green color and bully pulpit for anything more than window dressing and I'd let the moderators moderate. They aren't perfect, either, but they are in the arena day in and day out.

With all due respect, maybe you should be the one to chill out as my reply has nothing to do with you.
He mentioned me in the context, so I would think I am entitle to have my say, if we are to follow the same freedom of speech pattern that you seem to be defending here. Almost like you are implying I am not familiar with the concept just because i am not from the USA. And just because you have the right to speak does not mean that you are absolved of the responsibility for what was said.
The freedom of speech is as much as the right as it is an obligation/responsibility.
And not to mention that freedom of speech is just a wonderful concept as I do not see you guys in the USA ( or anywhere else around the globe ) are being entirely entitled to it ( but thats for another discussion ).
Because of Buzz' new remark, I had to reply, especially because we all know that what he said was not even remotely true. And yes he did cross not one, but one too many lines which resulted in his ban.
It is suffice to say that I am not going to allow any potential new stabs, nor allow him to twist the truth and pose himself as someone who was just misunderstood ( "since I must be so unfamiliar with the American humor" ) and not as someone who got what they deserved.
I am someone who is all for the freedom of speech at the forum as long as you do not engage personal attacks, provocations, but if you continue to stab me I will exercise my right to suspend you.
It is that simple.

Well, you are entitle to your opinion. And if you want me to be perfectly honest with you too, I do not really care you feel this way.

I've said several times that while we generally respect freedom of speech around here, everybody should be mindful of whose house it is. I've used this analogy lots of times with members who spent most of their time here complaining me and/or the forum rules. LarryS is a good example. He seemed like a smart guy but almost every post was complaining about the rules and how I enforced them.
There may not be a specific rule against whining and complaining about the rules, but I think I can speak for both Zuga and myself that we have a short fuse for it.
As I've said many times, if you're not happy here, just leave. There are plenty of other forums out there.

Axel, at least I'm drunk when I get foul mouthed. And I always apoligize when I sober up. Bish is cold sober doing all his bashing. That's why I call him Bish the Basher.
