Tuttigym who? I only remember the name nothing about the poster.

He argued that the 1.41% wasn't the house edge on the pass line, since the come out roll was factored into that.

My best guess is that he's having fun throwing the dice and cheering with his friends.

Just got back from Biloxi; has a great time; had fun; played and cheered, but passed the dice too much pressure. Thanks for the positive and generous comment.

To be clear, my position on the HA/HE on the PL bet is that it is far greater that 1.41%, and that the "math" that justifies that result is impossible to duplicate at the table.

p.s. No need to re-visit.

I think only the OP can create a poll in any thread, so EvenBob himself, in this case. He has a cool sense of humor, sometimes.

It's bad enough Bob left, but he didn't even give us a 'Bigot' option in his poll!

Thanks for explaining; I almost always pass the dice, but that's because I prefer placing the six and eight after the come out roll as opposed to making a pass line bet.

The only two people I know who play a lot of craps never roll themselves. I thought that was unusual but now I'm seeing others that don't roll much. How common is it? Can you let someone else roll when your turn comes or do they just skip you and go to the next guy?

I've never seen anyone ask to allow someone else at a craps table to roll for them; if you eschew rolling the dice will pass to the player to your left.

If dice delegation exists I'd like to hear stories about it.

I’ve never heard of that, except if the whole table agrees to let someone shoot, and then the dice will pass to the left from that person when there is a seven out.

I once played a fun game with five of us at a table. And one roller got it into his head that we should pass the dice around after each roll of the dice. (Note after each and every roll, not a completed point.) The pit crew was not happy with us. But we were drinking and having fun and tipping well.

It’s very rare for a shooter to pass the dice mid roll but it is legal. Sometimes it happens when a shooter needs to leave the table altogether.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.

I'd shoot the dice and make one PB 6 or 8 bet. I plan on hitting at least 2 of the same bet.

Some casinos will not allow you to shoot the dice unless you have a Line bet.

I implied I'd be making a PL bet when shooting. However, WinCraps shows I typically get a lot more action betting the PL than any single PB. There's sometimes a lot of rolls before the point gets established and the PB gets turned back on. But I kind of balance that against whether I want to risk losing 2-3+ times on Come-out craps rolls where a PB is a safer bet.
When other people shoot, I have a choice of betting PL & the PB 6 or 8, or I can just stick to the PB 6 & 8; or I can halve my bets and do a PL with 1X odds & 1 Come with 1X Odds. Right now I'm gonna stick with my progression instead of mucking about with odds bets; but I'd hit table limit a lot quicker with my progression than playing odds. I could win $10K/session without odds; or win $100K with odds, but that'd mean winning about 70 odds bets ahead.

I've been in craps games where a shooter had a hot roll, making the table lots of money: everybody is all jazzed up, and when the seven out finally happened by near unanimous request ("Same lucky shooter") the dice were quickly passed around the table back to him to continue shooting.

I'm starting to get some of that after I finish Hot Shooter Mode (20+ rolls) on Bubble Craps. But other times strangers just walk up to the machine, put $100 in, and they don't know anything about craps much less how the machine works, so they forget their line bet when they're the shooter and the machine passes shooting rights to the next player. It's kind of jarring when I'm betting Don'ts on this person and he forgets to bet the line and I wind up shooting again and I have to change all my bets. You rarely see that at a table, not saying it doesn't happen though.

I think I've got to plan on being the lone shooter on Bubble Craps for 1-2+ hours at a time because nobody's around. That could happen at the regular $15 craps table too.

A man letting his woman throw for him would be the case. I would think this is fairly common.

People can get testy about throwing the dice. At a charity night my table near had a fistfight over it.

Thank you for the compliment, it's nice of you to say so! I'm actually kind of working on a non-gambling novel on the side, but I'm not sure if it's any good (it probably isn't). Shoot me a PM if you're legitimately interested and I will E-Mail you the first two chapters.

It's about two years in the making. I'll usually only do an hour on it at a time when I feel like it. Probably early next year I'll take a week off from regular writing and life and just hammer the whole thing out.

To bet, or not to bet. that is the question.

In Vegas tomorrow
May post, probably not lol

How 'bout at least a little Trip Report ? Staying anywhere cool ? Any interesting activities lined up ?

In Vegas
It would be boring
I dont gamble anymore
Games like Bac are dumb, stupid, uninteresting and the house has an unbeatable advantage
Rather play chess or Civilization 5 if in a gaming mood
Usually not into gaming unless the weather is crappy.
Would much rather be outside hiking or biking.
Just hiked Muir Woods. Spectacular.

Too bad, you would have cleaned up on the last couple Terp/Irish women's hoops games!

The real sports fan finds joy and happiness in their team simply winning without any monetary reward
This may be the year for MD Women's basketball
Really looking forward to this season
Ranked 4 with the toughest schedule in the country
Go Terps
I'm expecting a lot of joy and happiness this season.
Love my Terp message boards. The don't practice censorship like its practiced here.

I disagree, the real sports fan just enjoys the sport no matter who is playing. There are very few real sports fans, most people that think they are a sports fan are just fans of certain teams. A real sports fan will watch Oberlin play Bladwin Wallace even if they have never heard of either team.

I can't imagine Vegas ever being boring. But I'm surprised that I am not as fond of Austin anymore.
Born in Texas and lived in Texas my whole life.

i don't qualify as a real sports fan in your book - and that's okay - maybe I'm not one

my favorite 2 sports - basketball and football - I love to see played on the highest level

like the Warriors when they had the 3 superstars

sometimes I'll be watching even a high level game such as UNC vs. Duke - and I'll see these slow big men - usually power forwards

I'm like "get outta there" - I'm not gonna watch this junk

I'm up in Tucson for the weekend. It is the weekend before The Day of The Dead festivities, which no US city does quite like Tucson.
Last night, I drove past a building that had an insanely small sign out front advertising a Lucha Libre card. I'm a true fan of wrestling so I stopped and bought a ticket($36? WTF?). The card was mostly young upcoming wrestlers with only a few performers whose name I even recognized.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

That was interesting. I had no idea. I am a little surprised as I know Ohio has lots of colleges and universities.

Did you read this far ?
This 1892 team featured one particular player/coach who is quite well-known in the world of sports. That player/coach is John Heisman, who is seen by many to be one of the greatest football players to ever live. Heisman did indeed coach the team as well as play for it. People could actually do that back then, as long as they were enrolled in the college they were playing and coaching for.

Curious who you consider to be the third superstar on the Warriors Durant era teams? Steph and KD obviously, after that I see three deserving all stars (Green, Klay, Iguadola) who will be hall of famers with debatable at best credentials to get in but gifted based on the titles, imo none of those three would be superstars or ever a top 15 player.
