Shitposting / Trashposting

Yes, I had noticed that and was working on it and have added them to the suspension list.
Wizard has been traveling and has not been in routine contact with the forum. On Sept 30 he was able to be active on the forum and decided to suspend AZDuffman and Tuttigym for a TBD period. I am showing their suspensions as 3 days + TBD. Dieter or I will unsuspend them after 3 days (on 10/3) but they may be subject to additional suspension terms when Wizard returns in a couple of days.
I am sorry for the confusion, our communications have not been ideal.

Case by case basis.
Sometimes it is discussed, sometimes the pronouncing moderator just needs some time to think rationally rather than rashly.

First, thanks for the link. As I have posted previously, my computer "skills" are fairly low on the proficiency scale -- around a 2 1/2, so fact checking of previous posts doesn't happen. That is why I asked for the link, so that I would not jump to an erroneous statement. Second, that "quote" above was posted by DO. It is easy to make a mistake reading some of the lengthy multi-quote postings.

1. when you see Recent Threads, scroll down to "Rules" and click.
2. Then click on "Suspension List"
That list has all the suspensions, including clickable links to the posts that caused the person to be suspended. This list is maintained as a public service by your jolly moderator team.
Gordon can re-read my post if he chooses to, and can apologize to me whenever he wants to.
I think periodic suspensions are good for me. I followed the threads that interested me during my 48 hour hiatus, but knowing I couldn’t respond made the idiocy spouted less annoying. Maybe Axel, Billy, Tiger and I will take turns being suspended?

You were suspended for implying that the moderators do not have the balls to suspend trolls.
Insult to the mods? Probably. But there was a time where moderators deliberately brushed off insults to themselves in the interest of encouraging useful feedback: Ask Mission or BBB how often they suspended members for 'insulting' them. It's not something I ever did either.
The BEST feedback any business or venture or forum admin can get is negative feedback or constructive criticism.
Moderators should wear their thick skin with pride and not abuse their power to stifle criticism.
If they don't have thick skin, they should grow some.

As you may have seen elsewhere, Wizard has returned and decided to lengthen Soopoo's suspension by two days -one for each of his testicles. He indicated that he felt insulted too.
Let me make one explanatory comment:
You are not allowed to make an insulting comment by putting it in an Easter dress and parading it down the street. By this, I mean:
"Am I allowed to post 'JohnSmith is fat, stupid and ugly and a waste of skin'?" is a sneaky way of dressing up a very insulting statement as a question. You can't do this, and you should expect to be suspended.
"Polls report that 92% of respondents believe that JohnSmith is fat, stupid, ugly and a waste of skin." is also not an acceptable way of sneaking an insult to JohnSmith into the forum. No matter the pretext, you may not organize electrons into a statement that is clearly meant to insult another forum member and post it in this forum.

They have every right to enforce the rules, to the letter, even as applies to posts directed at them. It is something that I chose not to do, and I do appreciate the compliments in that regard, but by the rules, I should not have let shots at me stand without penalty, either.
So, I would say that the Admins are doing a good job. In my case, I simply chose to ignore the rules, in certain instances (such as the above), but they technically should be enforced.

I disagree with parts of what you said.
I have been insulted quite a few times and turned the other cheek only because I am a mod. But in the culture I grew up in (the streets of NYC) the phrase "if you had balls" was a mortal insult. Even today, if you were in a nightclub, a strip club, or a party at someone's home and you said what Soopoo said "if you had balls you would do thus and so" the odds are good that you would start a fistfight or a loud belligerent argument. As in everything, there are limits to what moderators should tolerate. I feel that Soopoo crossed the line.
I did show Soopoo's post to my wife, who I admit is a bit of a princess. She was angry at Soopoo for insulting her husband in such a way, for disparaging my masculinity. She felt that was unacceptable. When I mentioned that he was a doctor, my wife said some very unkind things about doctors (my wife is a registered nurse). She started questioning me about what kind of people were members of this forum, were they all so rude and crude? No, I replied, we have members like ThatDonGuy, Gialmere, and Mission.
I will say that in general Soopoo is a highly-valued member of the forum, IMO.

Now that's funny. I have a sister-in-law who was a hospital nurse for 20 years and you do not want to get her started on doctors. To say she has zero respect for them would be an understatement. The examples she can give as to why will literally make you question the medical profession and the trust we have in it. You're better off not knowing.
And I grew up in NYC too. You’d have to pose a much stronger insult than that for me to even notice.
As far as Bob’s continual insulting of Doctors, with of course obviously the insult is directed at me, there are all kinds of people who enter the medical profession. Kind people. Humble people. Brilliant people. Assholes. Greedy bastards. Generous people. Etc…. Just like lawyers, APs, cat hoarders, etc…
