Forum administrators may hide threads that don't convey our goal to improve the player's odds in the casino. At conflict with that is our respect of free speech. As a happy medium, we hide threads we wish did not exist, but don't break any specific forum rules. Following is a list of them, with the most recent additions at the top.

The Adventures of MDawg is a thread you wished didn't exist? Priceless..

Great Idea!

No reason every thread deserves equal prominence. But still makes them available.

While this seemed like a reasonable response initially, with the offending party/parties free to start new threads with the same topic in which they are free to pursue their agenda of spreading the same "crap", it no longer solves the problem. It is like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound.

On a related note, if the parties involved are free to start new threads on the same topic, what about me? Exactly how many threads am I now restricted from? Half the board? A pentalty that has never been imposed on anyone else by the way. :/

Even without reposting hidden threads, there are forum rules against creating multiple threads

You finally have achieved your original goal of having the MDawg adventures thread hidden. You should be saying thank you.

As other issues arise, the mods will take care of it.

You won, KewlJ on this issue. I didn't even know MDawg adventures was hidden until Wizard made a thread saying the thread was hidden.

Just my opinion.

We didn't have the ability to hide a thread at that time. Even if we did, Nathan never claimed to have an edge at any casino game. I always viewed that thread as the funny page of the forum.

I just tested it. You can block threads. Then they didn't show up for you. The blocked threads list doesn't appear to list the threads you've blocked.

I think it's great. If you had a forum about topography, it's fine to have a flat-Earth theory thread. But it's silly to keep letting it exist endlessly taking up any significant part of a discussion, unless you really want to promote it. If you want to promote it, then by all means do so. But otherwise, regulate it to the dungeon..

I am revoking mdawg's privileges to start new threads, unless prior permission is granted by me or OD.

As to 'Exact' restrictions on KewlJ: AIUI, he is not to start threads with the purpose of challenging MDawg's claims. A subjective test, yes, but KewlJ and the moderators know where the line in the sand is. Like judging Heat at blackjack, it's all about knowing what will be tolerated: EXACT restrictions are not written out there either.
An exact restriction has been placed on Mdawg, and I see he has already posted today. I'll deal with that in the appropriate thread.

So, I wonder what this is doing in the Hidden Threads thread?

Well, no actually, I don't wonder. I see it as a way for the 'Emperor' (a simile for Mdawg, I guess) To highlight his triumphant return from suspension. It would not get wide attention in his 'adventures' thread because, hey, that thread is hidden!. And he can't start a new thread because he just got a restriction placed on that!. So why not hijack this thread? I'll answer my own question.... Because he knows that hijacking threads is against the rules here, but couldn't resist.

I'll share that I chuckled as I watched the video of that pathetic, insane Emperor Caligula. I love how he did the big reveal of his treasure plundered from Neptune. Chests full of sea shells. For that chuckle, I'll restrict myself to rebuking Mdawg for the thread hijack.

He sure knows how to veil his insults. by metaphor. Bless him he was disappointed at his welcoming committee.

Quote: Caligula

"He had thought in his Divine Innocence that the streets would be lined with cheering crowds"..."had thought that the streets might be strewn with flowers"

Well, not even much from his fan club, by the look of it.

Fact is, wizard and I have done a bit of cleaning house while the Mdawg has been in the dog house. And standards of expected behaviour have been reconsidered.

It's nothing to do with blocked threads.

WTH was that ChumpChange? some sort of retaliatory thread hijack? I already rebuked one member for that.

I have to admit that I enjoyed Mdawg's posting of the I, Claudius video. I was not familiar with I, Claudius -but that was one Hell of a monologue. It was infinitely more interesting than the rest of today's forum. Thank you MDawg for enriching my life.
