I'm studying Mike's exposition of craps probability figuring, on:

http://www.mathproblems.info/gam470/games/craps/notes-craps.html

and am stuck at the bottom of the (Craps) article. Where's he getting the 3/7 (of money bet) fraction he's using for figuring allowable odds multiples vig calc's? Can't figure it out.
Thx in advance for anyone's help.

The average line bet is going to be 1, or 3/3, while the average odds bet is 4/3. Add them together and you get 7/3 average total bet.

Now to find out how much of that total is the line bet, divide the line bet by the total, or 1 / (7/3) = 3/7

1 / (7/3) is also equal to
1 * (3/7)
(instead of dividing by 7/3 we can also multiply by the inverse: 3/7
many will find this method easier to do while driving down the highway)
