I've only just seen the second episode so guess he would not yet be settled in, he did a good job. I think it's difficult to take over hosting a well known show when the previous host made such an impact. Some shows in the UK have resorted to guest hosts but the quiz based ones have tended to announce a replacement.Quote: GialmereQuestion

Lately, 'educators' of a type, some of whom are in a position to have effect, have decided that the way math has been taught is racist. "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is bankrolling a group of activists who believe math is racist" is one of the claims that comes up if you google it, for example. Now I know you are unlikely to comment directly on that. However, I wonder if you'd answer a less charged question about it, so this is what I have come up with:
A persistent problem is that some minority students, Black and Hispanic in particular, fall markedly behind White and Asian students in learning math. Do you think it possible the math is taught in such a way that these students have less of a chance, that there might be a way to teach it that is neutral towards ethnicity, that just isn't being done?

I'm not that good at math and have no idea how to figure out the house advantage of that system
and then compare it to the expected comp value of the bets.
Is it possible to figure out?
Is it worth it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuziINilUvg
If you were going to gamble anyway, another way is to just play $170 on the layout and have more fun. Whether this is better value than the comps you receive is a matter of choice.
If you bet the 170 using this system you usually win. Not much, but you do. Of course when you lose the 170 is gone.
The idea is to make the bankroll last the longest. I know the house advantage can't be overcome without cheating.
If you bet the 170 on say 5 or 6 numbers you'd get a lot more per win but the wins would be a lot less. With a couple
of bad streaks the bankroll would be gone. What I'm trying to do is make my bankroll last as long as possible while
still making respectable bets for the comps. The longer I play, the better the comps and players club rating.
Any idea at what rate roulette is comped?
Quote: joedolAny idea at what rate roulette is comped?
The theo is 5.26% on double-zero roulette. In general, casinos will give back 20% to 33% in comps. However, you may do better than that by not asking and waiting for offers. I've always found that it's better to not ask for much and wait for mailers and offers.
However, unless you get entertainment value playing a strategy like this, I think it's better to just pay for it.
Quote: SkittleCar1If you had an unlimited bankroll, and no table limit, on any game, would Martingale be the optimum strategy?
Why would someone want to gamble if they already had an unlimited bankroll?
There's a free app - although I imagine some spend money buying credits. I have now built up 828M but still only play at 25k/spin, just for fun and the features.Quote: DRichWhy would someone want to gamble if they already had an unlimited bankroll?
You can play various fruit machines (I suspect they're trying them out so see which are popular). Every day you get more free credits, so can just build up your total. Some of the features are cool such as "Mayan Millions" which has a community target for those on the [logical] bank of machines. If you hit you get a reasonable prize, and there's an envy for others.

Obviously I was assuming real money.
As sadly I don't have $828M this was the only parallel I could draw.Quote: DRichObviously I was assuming real money.
As a Gilligan's Island fan, did you ever watch the show Dusty's Trail when you were a kid? It was a remake of Gilligan but placed in an F-Troop, comedic western setting. Not surprisingly, the showed starred Bob Denver and Forrest Tucker.

I can't remember the name, but I used to play on a site of free games that offered money. It probably turned into a online casino. I never won anything, but every once in awhile I'd give it a shot and try again. Even when you didn't win money, you got a constant credit for high scores.
I think it existed as far back as the 1990s. I want to say it was called something like "Peanuts" but I know that's probably not it.

Sure it has. April Fools Day.
Las Vegas YouTubers are a great resource, and Pompsie has overtaken Slotlady as my favorite. I enjoy his livestream walks around Vegas and his nicely edited tours of hotels, restaurants, and rooms.
What would it take to have you update the Wizardofvegas site with this style of videos? A new GoPro camera? More time? A video editor intern?

If you ask anybody if they read the Terms and Conditions before they opened a bank account or brokerage account online, 99% of the time the reply would be "not really" or something similar, and assuming the person wasn't trying to pull some stunt, 99.9% of the time there would be no 'price to pay' either.
However, experienced people say to carefully read the T&Cs when dealing with online gambling , including new state authorized varieties, or you might find deposits were ridiculously easy to make while withdrawals are like pulling teeth. Any other business would probably highlight important parts of the T&C that might be missed, while gambling interests, probably not.
Is this really right?

"CSL in the Casino" asked (for the 2nd time) if you had developed a basic strategy for the game. You replied that you're motivated to look into it as it would make a good "Ask the Wizard" question.

It would seem rather complicated as it would depend on how far along your opponent is. This would be easier to analyze if it were a one-player game.

Yeah. From what I can see, the game has had both major and minor tweaks over the years. Not being a fan, I don't know much about it. I did, however, have more fun than I thought I would playing the online version so maybe I'm missing out on something.

"Lament," is a strong word.
There are still a few places with live Keno, for now. I'd wonder if The D is one and if their returns are still comparatively good by Live Keno standards.
The D's live keno was located right near the sportsbook at the time I was there. I believe there was a draw every three minutes, the minimum card cost was $0.40 and minimum card (total) purchase was $4.00. Just as I recall (I included this in my D Review, I think.)
The return was over 80%.
So, you have an expected loss of under one dollar per thirty minutes and get free drinks. You can/could just watch sports on all of the TV's between draws. That's honestly an amazingly good value, if you really think about it.
