I guess I could say, "I could have acted unilaterally to Nuke him and I did not," would be a true statement

I’m curious , what are the provisions in the forum rules for allowing a banned member to return and remain active under another name? What has to be the case in order for the admins to have proof that a new account is indeed a banned member , and decide to let that person stay? I was under the false impression that nuke meant nuke , no exceptions. Let’s forget the fact that admins knew he was rumored to be a scammer.

And also , are there any other current active members who are formerly banned member back under a new name?

I feel that , depending on what the person was originally banned for, that the forum should be made aware that a new member is a past nuked member. Especially if the original reason for the nuke was him welching on a bet or some other shady act that directly impacted another member

If everyone was made aware that WON was strictlyAp then forum members could’ve then made their own educated decisions of whether or not to deal with him if ever approached by him.

Your statement is not accurate. As with many other people, you are trying to hold me to having today’s knowledge in the context of two years ago.

If people want to blame me exclusively for WoN being allowed to post here under that handle, that's fine. It was 100% my fault, if that makes you feel better.

I guess I could say, "I could have acted unilaterally to Nuke him and I did not," would be a true statement.

You and all of the mods are responsible for him being allowed to have a voice and recruiting ground. You're just the guy falling on the sword. Your involvement in the shenanigans is the most suspect. This site is supposed to stand for integrity in a pretty notorious environment for lacking integrity.
I suppose a lot of eyes were opened over these past few days.
A conspiracy minded person could think you allowed him to remain so that an eye could be kept on him. However, you and you alone decided to work with him even after you knew and were informed about his BS. Sorry I have no sympathy nor empathy despite thinking you are otherwise most likely decent.

LIn other words, while the majority of people here would (likely) vote to see me remain as an Admin, were I to put it to a vote, I believe that there are enough people where my impartiality and objectiveness can be called into question to warrant resignation.

Each admin including the Wizard, and the probably the owners here have a short list of people who would vote them off the island. You're not special in that regard.

That's meant to be a positive point.

Best of luck to you. I think you did a great job on a completely thankless, volunteer position. Most moderators/administrators do not last nearly as long.

I very much enjoy reading your articles and look forward to continuing to do so in the future.

Let me address the question of who knew what when.

WoN posted for a months and seemed an active and valuable member before I started to hear "off the record" and unsupported accusations he was SAP. I always replied that I needed evidence to take action. To that I was always told said evidence was confidential. I can't nuke someone based on rumors. Innocent until proven guilty is something I believe strongly in.

However, it got to a boiling point after the Monet incident. That is when I decided to crack down on banned members returning as sock puppets. Some private communication took place and in the end WoN resigned.

I already admitted I may have waited too long in the WoN situation, back in one of the Monet threads. However, I did so in the interests of due process and giving WoN the benefit of the doubt.

There you have it. Let the attacks begin.

As I have already said, many-a-time, that it's your forum, your rules, and your standards of moderation. We don't have to be here. We don't even need to be here. People have the right to complain, and I admire that you actually allow people to gripe in the open without much of a fear or reprisal. You provided a valuable service and a great forum at no cost to us, and in fact, you ran it at a serious loss for awhile, until you hit gold. This service continues, and the admins, I believe do their best to moderate.

I just thought of this:

I don't have to read dang near every thread and dang near every post anymore.

That's kind of neat.

"I'm blue daba-dee-daba-die!"

(Partial lyrics to, "Blue," by Eiffel 65)

Like, "Set of cheap Pai-Gow Tiles for sale." No interest in buying them. No need to read the thread. Don't personally care.

(That's no offense to the OP or anyone participating in that thread, I was just using it as an example of a thread I don't personally care about.)

With age comes wisdom, hopefully. What
you might learn is, never volunteer for
anything that looks like it might be a
thankless job. Like mod'ing a forum. If
you must volunteer, do it at the Humane
Society. They truly need your help and
it will be the opposite of thankless. Man
and beast will thank you profusely..

It's not easy bein' green.
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're not
standing out like flashy sparkles in the water- or stars
in the sky.

But green's the color of Spring.
And green can be cool and friendly-like.
And green can be big like an ocean, or important like a
mountain, or tall like a tree.

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why? Wonder,
I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful!
And I think it's what I want to be

No, the green was both a coincidence and one of my two favorite colors. Sometimes my favorite is orange. It depends on what my mood is when asked...not bad mood or good mood...just whatever color I happen to like best that moment.

Hey, you are blue now! You crossed over to the normal Members side! Welcome to the normal Members club! :D Okay, so, let's talk about good things that are blue. The ocean looks blue. Walgreen's uniform shirt is blue. The sky is blue. Blue is a beautiful eye color. Chips Ahoy is blue. Oreos is blue. Blue raspberry is blue. Cookie Monster is blue. Blue is the world's most popular color. Blue is a primary color. Blue is good! :D
