Couple notes to all.
Perhaps we need to specify the type device we are using that has this or that problem or suggestion?
I typically access via IPad, in my own WiFi network. Sometimes from a hotspot. Don't know if it makes a difference.
I did just have to login a minute ago, had to go lookup my password.
The forum usually just recognizes me. I usually to not logout, Am I wasting space by staying logged in.
Do not reply that I am a waste of space in general, I am already aware ;-(
I have figured out a couple things I did not understand yesterday.
The 'Recent Threads' label is a button, hit button and see an expanded list of recent threads. Now that makes a really big difference. Like sugar vs high fructose corn syrup. And the ones I have not read the latest are Bold. Not obviously Bold, but there is a difference. Now I am much happier, still not happy, just happier.
Thx for the forum, thx for the efforts to make it better (profitable?). They go hand in hand. 2F

Blue copy on red sounds awful, but might work.
I hate reading Outside Magazine when the colors and backgrounds are weird.
My eyesight is not very good anymore.
Quote: Zugathose are all small bugs that will soon be fixed. I understand this might be annoying but why I asked for some patience.
We were testing for bugs before the launch, but it is not possible to check for every single thing. Why we asked for the feedback and you guys been great in pointing them out so far.
A lot of minor bugs were already fixed, the rest will be fixed in the next couple of days.
cheers
Oh come on. I looked at the site for less than ten minutes and found bugs. What was your test plan? Did you have independent QA? How did you push the site toba staging server? Did you use any automation? Did you prove coverage of functionality with a test matrix? Did you have defect tracking?
In short, did you get a professional QA to work on this, or did you have a developer mark their own home work?
It is possible to test every single functional area... even if you will inevitably miss some items. Given your propensity to use txtspk, I would guess you took short cuts.
Quote: DJTeddyBearThat Recent Threads link is what I bookmarked and put in my nav bar on my laptop and iPhone. IE, that's my normal entry point. Has been for years, and still works great.
This is a great idea. Thanks.

great, next time ill make sure to consult you before we launch
since you found bugs, i invite you to share them, unless they were already reported. that will be truly welcomed.
Quote: DJTeddyBearSweet. I like it.
Yeah, you can't expect it to be 100% right away. There are bugs, and lots of them, but they are all minor. Bottom line, it work well.
I applaud Zuga and his staff for the work done so far, as well as the relative speed in which the bugs are being squashed.
+1
I'm liking it. Will like it better when I can read it easier. I have no doubt that is being addressed as I am typing this.
Also, I'm sure that Zuga is well aware that some here never seem to be happy with anything.
I think they are doing well with bug fixes. By the end of the weekend I'll probably not even notice anymore.

Now you see, that was not a nice post.
Nice posts are good.
Nice Avatars are good, yours not so much,
You might want to consider changing it.
Were you trying to impress someone with your tech knowledge?
I'm going to assume that all this stuff is easy for you, and that you simply are impatient with those of us, well like me, undercover as the village idiot, a part meant for me BTW, comes natural.
So you get a pass.
Never mind.
Since I don't want to be completely negative in my opinion, "This change is not as bad as the Slashdot redesign."
Familiarity is an asset, too.
Quote: Zugagreat, next time ill make sure to consult you before we launch
Seems unlikely, doesn't it. My point is, you should have consulted someone before hand. This stuff isn't hard, it isn't expensive, and it's been written about enough.
Quote:since you found bugs, i invite you to share them, unless they were already reported. that will be truly welcomed.
I already have in a previous post. I don't believe in basic QA by customers though. You aren't a charity, so I'm not going to work on your site for free.

Not really. I am calling out nonsense when I see it.

You've not just relaunched a new site. In fact, you are the end user, and if you are finding it good, or bad, that's great and your reaction. If it's taking you time to get used to it, that's bad, but at least you are expressing that. If you find it great and easy to use, that's a good data point too.
So, it's not about you, at all.

I do? Great!

+1. And, the quality of this launch makes me much less likely to follow the casino related advice of this site's owners. If these simple things were missed here, what's been missed there & why would I risk my money to find out?

Touché
And yes the quoting doesn't look as good.
And since you seem experienced in this stuff, perhaps you could advise me on how to do that split quote thing, or multiple quote thing. Or direct me to where it has already been explained?
Still not a nice Avatar for a PG site.
You have a nice day now.. 2F
It was an attempt at tiny humor, I'd prefer staring directly into the sun rather than mix red and blue. It amazes how some websites can be so poorly constructed.Quote: TwoFeathersATLBlue copy on red sounds awful, but might work.

When I click on a topic and it opens everything is fine until I scroll down. The Recommended Online Casino box on the right hand side, jumps to the left covering the forum posts.
Am I the only one having this problem?

The 1.5 spacing is also throwing me a bit.
The gutter between the sidebar and the posts is too skinny.
This is an untrue statement.
Quote: GWAEI would like to see the recent threads area show 10 or 12 instead of 5.
I just go to https://wizardofvegas.com/recent instead of the front page.
Here are my 2 cents about the new WoV.com. The new setup sucks. It's NOT as easy to find and follow up on previous posts. For example, I have to google "leukemia" & "GreasyJohn" in order to read Greasy John's latest posts.
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/announcements/22769-i-have-leukemia/3/
I also have to google "everything dies baby" & "7star4now" in order to read AC posts.
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling-outside-vegas/atlantic-city/
Hmm... it seems I'm going to google every thing within the new WoV.com in order to read and respond to previous posts.
Quote: rainmanIn the description of the Wizard of Vegas on the home page it states Micheal Shackleford as the owner of the site.

The copyright info at the bottom of every page is also incorrect (assuming that the rights transferred at the same time as the money in the sale...)
avatar? I find it very offensive. Are there no

I WANTED TO USE BOLD TO HIGHLIGHT THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH, BUT BOLD STILL ISN'T WORKING!
Now I can't locate private messages at all. Where are they now? I can't see any link from the home page. They used to be under forums, but I can't find a link on the forums page either. They aren't in the pull-down menu either. Maybe I still have that new PM, but I don't know where to go to read it. Hope it wasn't too important.
My other comments were about format problems when viewing the site on my phone. Maybe those have been fixed, but I haven't tried to access the site with my phone again.
On my computer, the site looks a bit like an enlarged version of a phone screen -- mobile friendly maybe, but not very computer friendly. While editing, posts look as if they are double spaced. The Post, Preview, Cancel buttons while entering a post and the Quote, Reply, Flag Post buttons while reading a post all look absolutely HUGE! Having them that big on the computer screen detracts from the post. Of course, on a phone screen, the large buttons are necessary in order to be able to touch just one of them. Can't this kind of thing be configured based on the kind of device that the user is on at the time?
background and the font. I'm on a 23" monitor
and it's blinding, I can't spend much time here.
And if I can't, there will be many others who
choose not to also. I'm sorry to be blunt,
Zuga, but the twotone page has no appeal
at all. That shade of blue is awful.
So what happens when I do that and click on messages? Just like on my phone yesterday, I get a list of pages of messages that I might go to, but none of those pages show the messages. I still can't find a way to access my "new" message, which might turn out to be rather old by the time I dig my way through to it.
Quote: pewI have trouble with the all white background. How about blue copy on red?
Since there is talk about changing font and/or colors combined with comments like this, I thought it prudent to remind you (Zuga) that about 8% of the male pop is colorblind. Make it blue on red (or green on red, or blue on green, or....) and I won't be able to read the page =p
Quote: EvenBobI'm on a 23" monitor...
I couldn't understand the problem with font until this comment. Not everyone uses a 42"? =p
I took a look at it before it rolled out, but if you quantify everything I know about tech and add it to zero, unfortunately, the result is still zero.
Quote: EvenBobMy biggest complaint is the snow white BRIGHT

I don't like the white background either, but now I have at least found out it could be useful. ;-)
I mentioned some of this earlier, but still see comments that apply.
Recents Threads' banner (in blue) is a button. I know below shows just 5. But it is a button.
Hit button, and a VERY long list of recent threads shows, from most recent to 'infinity'.
And the ones that have been updated since you read last are BOLD, not real bold but look carefully.
And that is cool, I will call it an improvement, a big one. ( OK, maybe I never really understood the old format ;-(
Now all this is on an IPad, anyone else, you're on your own...
When I clicked on this thread, it did take me to right where I had left off reading earlier today.
That is not an improvement, did that two days ago, but didn't do that yesterday or even this morning.
See bug, stomp on bug. Getting happier all the time.
I may break out into song any minute....

The POTUS didn't post, you did.
I was going to follow up with something that went a bit like this:
You said "that's great", I think in response to me giving you a pass.
Wasn't a big deal, some Jackass shows up here every day or two.
I generally give them a pass, so why not you?
I'm laughing now. ...don't misunderstand, I did not call you a Jackass.
I was referring to other well known posters that are Jackasses.
I did not say that your Avatar reminded me of something a Jackass would pick.
I just suggested you reconsider your choice.
Is there a Guiness record for how many times you can say Jackass in a single post?
The fact that this is a reply to you is pure coincidence, I am not implying you are a Jackass.
I just got carried away, probably made a Jackass out of myself, again.
I was going to write something like that, it was going to be longer, but I changed my mind.
You have a very nice day, and tomorrows. 2F
Also you may want to be more careful about some of the advertising you carry. Firstly, there seems to be some kind of geographical detection in place (as you are in the US and the adverts are for casinos using GBPs). Secondly, some people may be offended by such behavioural advertising and wondering what other statistics are being gathered by the site. Thirdly, some of these companies are now regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, so they might have stricter rules on [casinos] advertising [offers] than you're used to.

As far as I'm concerned, if it isn't in RED it doesn't count ..;-)

Now that is funny, at least a little funny,
Funny is good.I don't think RS is talking about me,
RS probably got my posts blocked already.
I understand completely if that is the case.
But while we are being funny here,
What if someone blocked a poster.
And that poster said some really funny Jhit about the posts of that someone, that blocker?
And that someone ( the blocker) didn't see them unless someone else ( unblocked someone else ),
Quoted the blocked someone, and made a reply?
I don't have anyone blocked. Can I block myself?
