I see the addition of cruises and airfare in the higher tiers, also mentions of lounges, but it doesn't say where or when that will happen.
The big downside is that free rooms appear to be limited to once quarterly, instead of monthly, like I get now.
Quote: GeoducknCrabI logged in today to see that I have zero tier credits now for 2018. Where did my 23000 go? Hmmm
Yep. Mine too
1500 points wiped away
Nice ploy. Change system for better. Profit from everyones points being wiped clean half way thru the year
Quote: GeoducknCrabI logged in today to see that I have zero tier credits now for 2018. Where did my 23000 go? Hmmm
Yes. Hmmm, indeed! When I try to log into the Boyd casino in Biloxi (IP Casino), it tells me "Application error. Try again later." I think that's tech-talk for, "It's taking longer to zero out player credits than originally planned."
And I continue to have my expected zero "Tier Credit" (NOT comp "points") total, since I almost never do anything that involves betting against Mr. Boyd & Co, and I understand that humping machines was the sole Tier Credit rated activity before. But the difference I see now that would potentially matter to me and others I know is that I see the new program description says "Table Games" including live cash game poker room play and Race & Sports wagering will now count for Tier Credits in the system. At Boyd/B-Connected system properties they were always invisible for Tier purposes before. But I haven't found an indication of the Tier Credit (NOT talking about the comp points) rate for these.
G'luck & keep chucking those cash comps to the account of DDead.

Never heard of that one before. Seems like a very tacky way to get an extra $1.25 out of every customer every year
Quote: rsactuaryMain Street Station just announced this afternoon double tier points today through the end of September. Since I'm heading there on Thursday, good for me! Onyx here I come!
Considering VP tier credits will be "theo based" now, don't hold your breath!
My tier score moved to a big fat zero (for now). They really bungled the conversion.
Quote: bobbartopDo they actually pay people to design this stuff? Gee, I want a job like that. I want to get paid big money to fix something that wasn't broken.
To get a job like that you have to Bconnected
Due to high system traffic associated with the launch of our all-new B Connected, your current card status is in the process of being updated and may take up to 48 hours to display your new tier credit balance, card level, and expiration date.
So .. that's BS.. but it's clear they know that what is showing is incorrect.

From what I can tell, they're trying to be able to stop giving anything to video poker players (especially low level) without cutting back on what they give the heavier slot players (and even more to the biggest players). I understand that completely. The lack of transparency is bullshit, especially when the people working at the player's club understand it less than I do after spending five minutes skimming through the details. But I don't think it will hurt them. Most people don't understand how to take advantage of things when it is completely transparent, so they aren't going to notice all this BS. As a bottom feeder I don't like the changes, but I'm still going to hack it.
I'm gonna wait a while and see what is really going on. Bconnected before the change offered great comp value with 40% off if you use points at their restaurants.
Quote: AxelWolfI think they have 11 x points unlimited on reels, AND VP today. Drawings with unlimited entries as well.
So u can buy 11 sandwiches instead of just one?
Quote: djatcIt all sounds confusing to me and I do this for a living

That is still listed as a benefit across all tiers, but no percentage is listed. However, if you're ruby, you aren't earning points playing, so that won't last long.
Unforaunly for you they don't comp bus passes. (-;Quote: darkozSo u can buy 11 sandwiches instead of just one?

Very fortunately
That bus ride from NYC to Mississippi is brutal
I didn't even get a copy of my bill to see if I paid that or not. Room was comped, so hoping that was not the case.
You must now pay for parking unless you are a hotel guest or are Emerald or higher.
Edited to add: I looked at my December comp and it appears that resort fees do not have to be paid for comped rooms.
Quote: djatcanyone know how many coin in on 99%+ VP gives you in points, not tier credits?
$2 coin-in per BConnected point.
For VP, tier credits roughly go like this.
Coin-in for one tier credit = $5 x 10% / theoretical house edge. So 9/6 JoB will require about $108.70 per tier credit. Or to make Emerald exclusively on that game, $1.63 million coin-in for the calendar year.
There is also a report that Gold Coast turned the Emerald Lounge into a Titanium Lounge. That's laughable.
Maybe this is for a different thread, but will post here anyways...
The downtown Boyd casinos (MSS, Cal, Fremont) have removed the multi-hand kicker games from their All Star Poker II machines for Super Times Pay and Double Super times pay... except for three hand Bonus Poker and JoB at the quarter level... and just Bonus Poker at the 10c level. A full array is available at the nickel level.
My guess is someone must have hit a monster and they decided they didn't like the variance.
Quote: speedycrapIf you want good comps, Stations are the place to be. Very, very generous.
Sure. Compared to Boyd.
Anyway, for his action, he got 8 tier credits, total. I was guessing he would get more than that on a game like 7-5 Bonus. Then I got to thinking, I guess he actually got 2X for the Ruby promo, so that 8 tier credit total would be 4 under normal circumstances. That sucks.
Boyd, some real rocket scientists. And to the new player, "Welcome to Boyd, you are Ruby, and you get nothing." omg, what idiots.
And what are the benefits to working up to Sapphire and Emerald, besides qualifying to earn b-connected points? Doesn't appear to be very much.

Did they "fix" the Bonus paytable too? It was good...
Stupid that they get rid of the most popular game variant of all time. CET Tunica is also dumb like that on their All Star IIs. No DDB, and it's been that way since they were ordered 5 years ago.

I didn't look at the bonus paytable at all, so I don't know. but they dropped the TDB paytable by a coin on the straight about two years ago.

As much as I hate the system, because it's harder for me to earn profits, it's very close to how I would run a player's club. No reason to give anything to the people who play very small amounts or the guys losing 1% or less on video poker (and no reason to ever give them a chance make winning bets). Instead use all available resources on the people losing 10% on a high volume of action.
I would just make it simple enough so that the people who worked at the player's club understood the system, instead of having them just make up stupid shit whenever a customer asks a question
My estimate is that playing a slow basic strategy blackjack game earns tier credits for as little as 1/10th the cost of most video poker

What? I've never seen TDB where the straight pays 3-for-1. Are you sure it was TDB and not the other game (I think it's called Triple Double Bonus Plus....where straight pays 3-for-1 and the 2/3/4's with ace pay 4000 instead of 2000)?

Like Triple Triple Bonus, at Twin Arrows in Flagstaff?

I'm sorry.. I mispoke... I meant the dropped flush by a coin. so sorry.
Quote: bobbartopAt "my" casino, I just want as many people under the roof as the place will hold. If some of them win a little or don't lose much, they can be my unpaid shills. I want the place packed. I'd do whatever I could to attract people to the floor and make their experience enjoyable, which includes a simple and attractive slot club. The more the merrier.
I agree. "Your" casino, with full tables, will almost certainly generate more dealer tips. Happy dealers are good for everyone.
"We are also pleased that Boyd Gaming will be acquiring our Ameristar properties in St. Charles and Kansas City, along with Belterra Casino Resort and Belterra Park. We look forward to working closely with Penn National and Boyd to seamlessly transition the Pinnacle businesses to their respective new owners.”

And just for fun, I hit the Update Points button on the site. Every time I hit it, my points dropped by ~100. Then I refreshed the page, it went back to what it was before, and it stopped doing that.
