Clueless.

No, Henderson.
Quote: bobbartopDowngrade your already crummy video poker, and then change from a dollar coin-in equals one point, to FOUR dollars coin-in equals one point. Why should anyone drive that far south to be insulted like this?
Clueless.
Enjoy your next session at Silverton.

There have been much better days at Silverton, MUCH better. Also worried about changes I'm hearing about M Resort. But it looks like Silverton is going from good to not so good, and doing it fast. Something is wrong upstairs, apparently. These are big changes. Btw, $8 per point on some other mediocre games, Multi Strike for instance.
Anyway, what's your problem?

I think "Henderson" is Paiute for hell.
Not to mention not having to worry about the noise caused by people betting on the NHL at the sportsbook?
Quote: ZenKinGSilverton, the same place that enforces an unenforceable $100 bet restriction mid shoe entry with no sign on the table stating so. Completely illegal.
Add them to The List.

Palace Station
Orleans
Wild Wild West

Even in Atlantic City, a bet restriction for any player can be enforced at any time. Nothing illegal about it.

Orleans is pushing it slightly, although I did say "just down the road," but I wasn't aware there were that many In-N-Outs near the Strip now.
Still, all of them have sports books, and presumably all of them take NHL action during the season, unlike Silverton.

Flamingo & The Linq, just steps away.

I forgot but I think they have an In N Out at the Linq now too. I thought Silverton wouldn't take Kings bets or something like that. I know Golden Nugget doesn't take Rockets bets since Landry's owns them or something.

You mean the Sacramento Kings (as opposed to the Los Angeles Kings)? That's the Palms - at least, it was when the Maloofs owned the Kings. Caesar's has a similar policy with the Celtics. Apparently, both of those restrictions are imposed by the NBA, and not the Nevada Gaming Commission.
However, the Silverton "ban" applies to all NHL games, and I think it's self-imposed.

Any idea why?
Ed Roski owns Silverton and also owns all/or part of the Los Angeles Lakers, the LA WNBA team, LA Kings (and I think the Staples Center). So no wagering on those teams as far as I know @ Silverton.
Not long ago I remember reading about the possibility of a new Silverton being built in Pahrump:

Why own one dump when you can own two?
Quote: speedycrapI will put VISIT SILVERTON on my to do list when I visit Vegas next time.
They're actually offering double points days now for video poker and it had been years since they did that before. I guess that was the tip off that they were about to make some awful changes. "New and Improved".
Used to have $3 blackjack, making a 1-25+ spread fairly easy. Between Silverton and Alamo could get enough action at low limits to be worth $50 to $100 per day for not a lot of time.
Also remember $25 in free play and a buffet comp on 1,000 points a few times

Silverton is also one of the only two places I know of in LV where QQ WP video poker exists, the other being South Point.

Don't remind me about Silverton and VP - that's where I threw away a dealt full house because I didn't realize that I had to hold the five cards
But at least the buses to there run every 30 minutes now on weekdays, instead of the old hourly service. Still no buses to Them - er, The M, though...

Mirage and NYNY have it too. No idea on paytables though. I assume not very good.

At the Mirage, for quarters, DDB is 9/5.

do the regular quads pay 250 or 260?

I don't think 9/5 DDB QQ ever pays 260, just 9/6.
Went to the Silverton once a few years back to see the Mermaid, part of my "do at least one thing entirely new every trip to Vegas thing". We got a good buffet offer by getting a few points.Quote: RSWhy own one dump when you can own two?
I was surprised by how many "Time Share" offers were going on at the buffet at the Silverton at the time. Anyhows, our best time share presentation "gift"(not from Silverton) was a certificate for a free cruise, just pay port charges and taxes. We went on a 4 night Bahamas cruise out of Port Canaveral. Just paid for port charges and taxes. But we did upgrade for a balcony for $ 300, WELL WORTH IT to have a nicer cabin.
