Bonus Deuces Wild is an interesting and fun game. I was recently practicing on software the 13-4-3 version which has a return of 98.80% and a paytable of 1-1-3-3-4-13-20-40-80-25-200-400-800. I came across a hand that confused and somewhat frustrated me which reminded me of a recent discussion on this board where poster RS was frustrated with the reasoning behind holding W6 over WT in a Jokers Wild game. Here's the hand:

W W 5h 8h 6s

versus

W W 5h 8h 7s

In one hand you hold the deuces, the other you go for the 2-gap straight flush. "WHY?", I said to myself.

This is a complicated hand to play perfectly. Sometimes two deuces and a 2-gapper calls for holding the deuces only, and other times it calls for going to the straight flush. The choice is always a close decision, but I think playing it perfectly requires one to commit to memory each of the many situations. Like I said, it's a FUN game. whoopie! lol

And don't forget, when the fifth card is an Ace, you always hold the deuces and the Ace and forget about the straight flush. I get screwed up on that frequently, especially if I'm tired.

Bonus Deuces Wild is still my favorite game. If only I could find the 99.8% game on a multi hand Super Times.

I assume that is DOUBLE Bonus Deuces Wild? Or perhaps the 10-4-4 version of BDW, which I don't know if you'll ever see that again. Both look like a not-so-common version. I'll keep my eyes open for it. Thx.

Yes, the 99.8% is the Double Bonus Deuces Wild. I really do miss those 10/4/4 BDW for $50 that had the 1000 coin royals at the Village Pubs.
