On my next trip to vegas I am planning on dropping a fair amount on VP. and I was wondering, what am I better off playing? one line or multiple line VP?

Im planning on staying at the Cosmopolitan in vegas, I looked on VPfree2 and I see they have 9/6 JoB in a few flavors,

they have
$5 spin poker,
$5 single line
$5 multi play (3,5,10 play)
$0.50 100 play,

If I am bringing a decent but not huge bankroll with me (5k) what game do you think I should play to get the most bang for my buck? I would like to earn gold status if possible at their players club before my bankroll runs out (120k coin in in VP)

120k coin in with $5k? Seems like a stretch.

Probably $0.50 denom 5-play ($12.50/spin) is your best course of action. Or $0.25 denom on 10-play.

well it depends on how my luck goes, JoB has a 99.5% payout, so with 100k of coin in, my theoretical loss is only $500. its all about minimizing variance.

Also can I play $0.50 with only 5 play? I havn't actually been there before, but I thought with 100 play I would need to play 100 play ($250/play)

Then more draws per hold (more lines) is more better.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Generally, anything that's 25-play or higher, you can play fewer lines with 5 coins/line. The 9/6 JOB in Cosmo, you can do this. Although I reckon they got a $12.50 minimum bet on them machines.

**IF** you're keeping with the same overall bet size.

I think Cosmo has 9-6 job 100 play in 25 cent denom. The machines at Cosmo have some weird settings with mins per hand in the high limit room unless they babe changed it in the last 2-3 months.
No longer hiring, don’t ask because I won’t hire you either

When I was there in August the 9/6 JoB on the 25c 100 plays had been downgraded. I was there again earlier this month and they were still not 9/6 although the 50c and $1 on those machines were 9/6.

vpFREE2 looks correct to me for all the 50 and 100 plays at least as of earlier this month, but paytables change frequently there.

My advice - and you're probably more knowledgeable than I am is to provide us with a just a bit more information.

1. How long will you be in Vegas?
2. Is the 5k just for VP, or for food, rooms, other games, etc?

If you're just there for the week or less, I think I'd go for a 3 or 5 hand with .25 or .50, at least initially. That is keeping in mind that you're wanting to aim for 120k coin-in. I personally think this may be a mistake to chase this down, but that's not my call to make, because I don't know what value you get from that level of play, compared to the initial level everyone else gets. I haven't been to Vegas in a dozen years. Maybe it's changed. Time was, just playing $1 machines would get you your room and meals comped, and possibly a show or three.

Just know that $200, with .50 cent, 5 hands - that's $2.50 a hand, $12.50 per round. When your timing, your luck, whatever you wish to term it is off - 200 bucks will last less than a few minutes. Extrapolated out, I could see where someone would play through 5k in a couple of hours - and that's being dealt quads. Sure, you might hit a royal - but unless it's dealt, it's really not that many credits when divided out over 5 hands.

That's just my two cents. And since some would offer a penny for my thoughts, I think I'm talking too much, or someone owes me a penny.

In short, I'd not play over 3 lines per hand, at .50. Or, I'd play $2, single line. Those points add up quickly, and there's arguably less risk (and less reward) but I think you would be able to play longer. (primarily because that's $10 per hand, not $12.50)
