We enjoy playing Ultimate Poker and have some questions about the randomness of the cards. We have played literally thousands of hours overall so our experience is over a longer term. We notice that the hands dealt are very streaky, far more than what one would expect from a randomized generator. I realize that statistically the randomness is over a long period of time, but it still seems "off", if I can use that phrase.

For example: Playing 10 hands at a time and having more than 10 hands in a row without a starting pair seems to be abnormal. In looking at the cards dealt, there will be a series of hands (10 or more) with almost no face cards and then followed by several hands in a row with face cards on the initial deal. Also, when keeping 4 cards to a straight or flush, very often the exact same card is dealt as the 5th card in several of the hands. This occurs on 3, 5 and 10 play. How is that explained?

Other questions that come up:

Does the casino have the ability to reduce (tighten) the payouts on video poker by means other than changing the pay tables which I can see?

Is Ultimate Poker statistically a bad bet compared to other video poker games? The win/loss swings are pretty wide when compared to other games.

Do all casino video poker machines all use the same simulator?

Does the speed of play have any impact on the outcome?

Lastly, does the randomized continue to run between the deal and when I hit the draw button or is the result already set?
