I received a mailing from Main Street for the summer Video Poker Tournament June 2-4. The top 30 win prizes from $50 to $1,500.
Has anyone done this before? Is it worth flying in for?
The mailing says there are two sessions. I wonder how long each lasts and what type of VP it is. I may call them tomorrow to get more details.

Thanks

I wouldn't fly in just to play in this, and I'm from Cali. I've played in many of their VP tournaments in the past. The sessions are both time and credit based. Highest total accrued credits from both sessions wins. I believe you are given 1000 credits (200 hands) to play per session and the sessions are 15 minutes. Finishing off the credits within the given time shouldn't be too much of a problem, although I do often see folks unable to get through all of the credits. Credits not played are forfeited. Whenever I've played, the game is 9/6 DDB.

I see that this one has a $5000 total prize fund. This is one of the smaller ones as others are either $10,000 or $15,000, with some at $20,000. That and the fact that you have only 400 total hands to play has me saying pass on doing it unless you were planning to hit Vegas anyway.

Thanks for the info. I've got the Vegas itch so this might be the excuse I need to go out. Plus El Cortez sent me an offer for 3 night, $50 food, and $50 slot play.
