Funny Video Poker Story

My friends and I were on a golf outing and staying at a Casino because of the comps they gave me. One of the guys has only been to casinos on such trips and only plays very little. He walks up to one of those very large $1 VP machines and puts $20 in. The pay table is terrible. He plays just one credit. I start explaining to him that he is much better off playing a .25 machine for maximum credits. He says this machine feels lucky and while I am trying to talk him out of playing this machine he hits a ROYAL FLUSH! He is ecstatic with the $250 he just won and doesn't care that he would have won $4000 with maximum credits or $1000 on a .25 machine. He continued playing $1 machines for one credit that had terrible pay tables. He is the only one of us that went home with more money than he came with.

It just goes to show you that all the research, strategy, and calculations in the world can't make up for one minute's worth of luck.
