Thanks for asking. I meant to include this infoQuote: tuttigymDid you pay for the rooms or were you comped? If so, what were the rates paid? From the description, sounds pretty austere and beyond cramped. Were there beds or did you have to sleep on the floor on mats? Was the AC cold or did you have to open the windows to get the cool night air flowing? Did you bring your own towels or did the room have them, and were they soft and fluffy or rough from continuous laundry runs? Was there an ice machine available and close by?
Thanks for the info. I think I will stick to the accommodations in Biloxi. The local Red Roof Inn is roomier, has more amenities, and is pet friendly.

All were comped. GN had no resort fee. The others were about $35 plus tax.
Only the GG was cramped. Gotta remember that its over 100 years old.
The A/C was fine at all 4, but was noisy at GN.
All had similarly acceptable towels.
My room at GG was near the elevator, but the ice was far away. The others had it very close to the elevator. Since I had no refrigerators, I was using the ice bicker to keep my water cold. Since my rooms at the other hotels were down the hall, I started bringing the ice bag with me to get ice on the way to my room.
Other than GG, I think all exceeded Red Roof standards.
Also note that GG was the only option for free (plus fee) Saturday night. And since it included entry to Circas Stadium Swim, it was a bargain.

Still, sounds like a good trip.
Id like to see that too. But dont look to me to write it. I come to Vegas because thats where the conventions I attend are held.Quote: VegasriderOk, next time I want to see a Lake Tahoe/ Reno trip report. Mix it up a bit.

Using Google Map's Measure Distance feature, I've estimated the amount of walking that this overweight guy who avoids exercise did during this trip.
Monday & Tuesday
Although I don't really consider the wandering around downtown to be exercise, and it wasn't in the Mojave heat like the rest of my hikes, it still adds up to well over 1 mile.
Wednesday Morning
Excalibur to PHo / Ocean One for Breakfast, then to Aria for poker, then back. 2.3 miles.
Wednesday Afternoon
Tram to Mandalay Bay doesn't count, but from there to the Pinball Hall Of Fame. Uber back doesn't count. 0.6 miles.
Wednesday Evening
Excalibur to Luxor for dinner, then Mandalay Bay for the dice challenge and back. 1.2 miles.
Thursday Evening
Harrah's to Bally's/Paris WSOP and back. 1.6 miles.
Friday Morning
Harrah's to Ellis Island. 0.8 miles.
Uber to Strat.
Strat to Resorts World, then Venetian, then Harrah's. 2.6 miles.
Friday evening and Saturday morning
Caesars for poker. Just under a mile, twice.
That's about 12 miles - not including the little walks like from my room to the pool or to the convention, etc.

That is why us locals would stay in our house or go into our swimming pools. It is only hot if you are out in it.

Seriously? Theres an entire thread on the challenge, which is to put to bed a dispute that has lasted almost 10 years, three other threads and almost 2,000 posts.Quote: 100xOddsCan you elaborate on this? and results?Quote: DJTeddyBear

If you have an Android phone, they have some kind of pedometer tied to your phone's accelerometer. I don't know about Apple, but I wouldn't be surprised. I don't use any of that health stuff--damned phone is a snitch on me enough as it is.

Yes, Iphone has the same.

how much battery does it kill per hr?
I apologize but I also have to admit that I have not read every thread on this site.Quote: DJTeddyBearSeriously? Theres an entire thread on the challenge, which is to put to bed a dispute that has lasted almost 10 years, three other threads and almost 2,000 posts.
Yeah, iPhone has it too. My wife uses it on hers.Quote: BillHasRetiredQuote: DJTeddyBearNow that Im home, on a real computer..

I normally dont care about that health related stuff either. But, truth is, I started to set it up right before I start my first walk, but then I wasnt even sure if I was setting it up right, so I stopped.

I believe it is only slightly more battery hungry than the software that determines which way to orient the display screen data.
The type of hardware sensor in a phone vs a wristband is essentially the same (3 axis piezoelectric accelerometer), so accuracy should be a matter of software and where it is attached to your body.
