Wow. My unit is so efficient. It's small, 20 footer, and it's has extra insulation and no side out. What can run on solar does such as my refrigerator, all lights and some other stuff.
Despite the heat, this is one of the cheapest cities in the country to camp in a RV. 600 a month plus electricity

I found electricity to be rather expensive in Las Vegas. I was paying over $600 a month in the summer.

That’s a good size for one person. How many watts of solar? What’s been the highest rental spot in the U.S. so far? I imagine you’ve been to quite a few by now.

Also some new visuals. The skeleton riding the motorcycle now continues into the sky. Another new visual is animated dancers. Another new visual is a new curtain.

New visual of a stadium. Not sure if this represents a real venue. Definitely a city stadium with buildings in the background. The stadium is fill with dancing skeletons.
We got a 2nd showing of the fantastic new visual of the motorcycle continuing into the sky. Unfortunately it was shown during Deal and was cut off half way through. I took a few videos of this new wonderful visual. Really need to use that visual on a longer song so we get the whole thing like the 1st showing the previous night. We also got the dancing spinners again during Eyes. Overall I'm not thrilled with this visual as the dancers are obviously dancing to a different beat then the actual music we are hearing. A little off putting. It also gets pretty repetitive as Eyes is a long song. Should have done motorcycle with the new part 2 during eyes so we get the whole visual to the end. Overall had a wonderful time. Of course finished in the Copa room where the band did a kick ass Help>Slip>Althea

The only place I can think of two hours east of Vegas that I liked was the St George/Cedar City area. A beautiful place in the summer. From there head to Grand Junction Colorado and Colorado Springs.

Another great show. Eyes of the world was magnificent. So jazzy and beautifully played. As usual, Eyes featured Oteil on bass and it was wonderful. This is really the only song where the band will feature Oteil's bass prowess. Don't know why they don't feature Oteil in more songs. Got a long meandering jam filled Playing in the Band 1st set. Back in the Grateful Dead days in the latter part of their career, so rare to get Eyes or Playing in the 1st set. The GD generally saved long jammy songs like Eyes and Playing for the 2nd set. Not Dead and Co. They mix it up so much, there is no such thing as 1st set songs and 2nd set songs. With the GD, most songs were either 1st set songs or 2nd set songs. Dead and Co mix it up so much, any song can and are played in either set. Finished the 1st set with a strong Let It Grow. I personally think this song is the best peice of music Bobby has ever wrote. A really great song with a strong jam riff climaxing with "I am, I am, I am !!!!!!!!!!!. Only 3 songs before drums instead of the usual 4. I somehow feel I'm not getting full value for my money when the band does this.
Another 1st played in the Sphere tune, Passenger. Loved it.
Overall was very entertained by this show and that's what it's all about.
As to visuals. We have had red flowers, yellow flowers and red white blue flowers. They dropped purple flowers with the spinners dancing so thats kind of new. They also cut the length the Skeleton motorcycle part 1 down so we got to see all the new wonderful skeleton motorcycle part 2 visual.

In Oklahoma, Tulsa has some incredible architecture and statues, and Norman has a unique vibe. I compare it to Austin but don't say that to folks from either city. I really wanted to like Albuquerque, but it was impossible.
Quote: billryanI imagine you'll take 40 from Nevada to Oklahoma. Have you visited the Alpine region of Arizona? It's a bit southwest of the Petrified Forest, west of Winslow. It is a spectacular part of the country, and Route 191 from Alpine to Morenci is the scariest road I've ever driven. Nicknamed the Devil's Highway( its original designation was Highway 666), it's a never-ending series of incredible switchbacks as you go from 2,000 feet to almost 10,000, back down to 2,000, and up to 8500 multiple times. They don't allow large trailers, but I wouldn't recommend it even with your small one. Park the trailer and do the run. The Witching Well is officially closed, but everyone knows signs have two meanings.

Haven't really made a lot of reservations yet
I spent a lot of time in Oklahoma couple years ago and plan on visiting again
Thanks again for the tips
Wonderful show. Only 5 songs for the 1st set but thrilled with the performances. Set 2 they open with the band touching on Dark Star theme for several minutes before diving in for the 1st half of the song then going into El Paso and finally back into Dark Star. Wow. A spacey Dark Star into a cowboy song and back into Dark Star. Face melted. Scarlet Begonias and Fire often separated during the Sphere run. Nice to get the traditional Scarlet>Fire but no transition. WTF. They gave Scarlet a proper ending then started Fire. I much prefer the classic transition where the jam evolves from Scarlet to Fire. Drums/Space always awesome in the haptic seats. Another killer Sugaree as I recorded a video of John burning it up as usual. Awesome Morning Dew perfectly timed for the landing into Haight. Of course NFA one of the most fun ways to close out a show

Quote: billryanAs you pass east of Albuquerque, Route 66 runs alongside it. If you hope off 40 at Tucumcari, take 66 as the service road, and you'll pass the ruins of dozens of old gas stations and some great murals depicting 66's heyday.

Thanks
Love stuff like that
I can't wait to leave Vegas
I can't believe people will live here in the Summer
It's just so absurdly hot in the summer to the point it's unhealthy
I love spending time outside
I've never ever spent so much time inside during a Summer in my life.
I'll probably be back next year
Looks like Dead and Co signed a multi year deal
Rumor is next Spring
30 Dead and Co shows in a row for me
Never seen so many shows in a row in my life
Retirement is wonderful
Before this run, most Grateful Dead shows I saw in a row at 1 venue was 5 at the Oakland Coliseum around 1994.
I did see a lot of 6 show runs, 3 in one city and 3 in the next city.
