At a casino near my house you get $5 for the 2 of clubs if it is in your hand win, lose, or push. There is a .50 cent collection every hand for bets between $5 and $25 but there is no commission for wins. There are also some free bonuses

AA with royal-$2500
AA with straight flush-$1000
AA with four of a kind-$500
AA with full house-$100
AA with flush-$50
AA with straight-$25
Five aces-$500
9 high pai gow-$100

I am wondering if the 2 of clubs and the bonuses make up for charging the collection and should you bet $5 or $25 dollars a hand for the best results?

Lucky you! All the card rooms around here charge $1 collection for every 100 bet and have no bonuses, which card room are you going to?

Wow. Those are some interesting free bonuses, but no bonus (other than the five aces) that requires the Joker?

I was once dealt: J Q K * 2 3 4
It pushed, but holy crap!

The $5 bonus more than makes up for the $0.50 commission since the odds of getting the 2c is 7 in 53. 7/53 * 5 = $0.66 > $ 0.50

The other free bonuses are just gravy. I will calculate the EV for them in a bit, unless someone else does it first.

You should only bet $5 since the bonuses do not increase with your bet. A $5 bet will result in the highest expected return.

Ok, so using the sidebet tables from the wizards pai gow poker entry, it looks like those other bonuses are worth about $0.08 per hand. Add this to the $0.16 from the $5 bonus and you get an added $0.24 per hand.

I don't know if you are banking here, I'm assuming you are not. Banking commission free has a player advantage of 1.2%, however, I don't know how that works with the $0.50 commission and whether that fee increases because you will betting a lot more to bank (to cover all bets on the table).

Anyways, a $5 bet will cost you $0.06 at a 1.2% disadvantage according to the wizard (commission free). So you are in +EV land! Play to your hearts content, at no more than $5 a hand.

At 30 hands/hour, this will net you $5.40 on average + comps.

Are you factoring in the fact that there is no commission for wins in this game in your 2.66% edge? Seems the only HA in this game is the $.50 collection fee and the fact that banker wins copies.

No I missed that! I didn't even know such a game existed! I modified my original post. From here: https://wizardofodds.com/paigowpoker, it looks like the HA is 1.2%.
