I was trying your new Ultimate practice game, and had the following hand.
Kc 4d I checked which is correct .
then flop came Jd Td 8d
It says to check is the best play, but according to discount gambling and another source you should raise with this flop.
Which is correct?

Personally, there are times I might raise with that, but I've gotta agree with the Wizard on this one. You've got nothing but a draw, and IF that 4th diamond comes it would probably be higher that yours. You also need to consider the pair or straight possibilities that the dealer/computer might have.

In the Wizard's game the program never varies from comparing the EV of each choice. That seems more reliable than a written system, which has proved difficult for this game and also could not possibly include every single exception, penalty card things and so on.
I guess it is possible the EV calculator could have an error, but in general I would think the Wizard's game trumps any written strategy you might come across.

Checking is the correct play. The game offers perfect-strategy advice, which is incredibly difficult to put in writing without having tons of exceptions.

I don't think dg.net advises you to raise on that hand. He says you need 5th nut flush draw and 3rd nut kicker to bet a flush draw on a suited flop. The king is a sufficient kicker, but the 4 is not a high enough flush card.

I thought DG.net said bet 4th,5th,or6th nut with 3rd kicker.Am I reading it wrong. so the 4d in my example would be the 6th nut and the king would be the 2nd kicker?

4d is 8th nut flush with 3 higher diamonds on the board. (A, K, Q, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4).Quote: HunterhillI thought DG.net said bet 4th,5th,or6th nut with 3rd kicker.Am I reading it wrong. so the 4d in my example would be the 6th nut and the king would be the 2nd kicker?
