S7reak (sic) is a new card game at the Crown casino in Melbourne. It is hard to compare to anything else out there and the rules are a bit hard to explain. Please click the link I just made for the rules and analysis. There is also a nice demo game at TCS John Huxley.
Please have a look at let me know what you think. I welcome any of the mathematically advanced members to take a crack at the math yourselves.
The question for the poll is would you play S7reak?

That's how I read it. See, I'm still young enough to "get it."Quote: gamerfreakI'd imagine it's pronounced streak and just spelled with a 7 cause that's what the millennials are doing
18% on the suit 'em up side bet... lol?
Also, I played the demo. Bet 400 on black, got a 3 card streak for 2-1 pay... So I "win" 800... not surprisingly the demo screen went gold and said "YOU WIN $1200!!!" I hate misleading crap like that.
We have had similar games to this for decades... They're called drinking games =P. Either higher/lower, red/black, etc, etc. The goal is to make it to the end, and if you get it wrong you have to drink that many sips with how far you got towards the end goal of 7. So say you got 3 right, then got it wrong, you owe 3 sips of your beer/drink. You play UNTIL you "win" and get to 7. Sometimes you get lucky... and sometimes you drink 4 beers in this one game. =P
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

1. In the section where the No Streak Bet is analyzed, I think the table has the wrong title.
2. I also believe the analysis for the No Streak Bet is in error.
The no streak bet is real simple: no matter which card comes out first:
- 2/51 cards will result in a push = 0.039216
- 24/51 cards will result in a win = 0.470588
- 25/51 cards will result in a loss = 0.490196
- HE = - 0.019608
I think you assumed that if the second card is equal in both rank and color then it is a push.

5.The No Streak bet pays even money if the first two cards are opposite in color and rank. If the first two cards are equal in rank and opposite in color, the outcome is a push. If the first two cards are opposite in color, the outcome is a loss.
I think the last sentence , if you replace "opposite in" with "the same", it will be correct.
I played the demo, specifically to see what the suit bet was like. Ugh. Never got more than 4 cards dealt. Won with 3 once. Pushed with 2 maybe 5-6 times. Otherwise, lose lose lose.
Looked a little like HCF, except going to be very rare to get to 7 cards, but it feels like it will get further than it does.
The rest was a bore. Sorry, whoever built it. Would like to have enjoyed it.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

You're absolutely right. Thank you, very much, for both corrections.

Thank you, you're right. No wonder I messed up the analysis of that one. Of course, the easiest of the bets to analyze.

No Streak
First two cards different color NOT paired = win
First two cards different color AND paired = push (from the rate card)
First two cards are same color = loss
The write-up itself is still in error. The odds box has the correct decimals for the above... not for the paragraph.
That bet is tolerable. Reminds me of the Two Pence game (Flip two pennies until a pair of heads or tails occurs).

Hi guys,
Just worked out how to register on here.
I live in Melbourne and have played this game.
I figure that the no streak bet is a pretty good one. Doesn't matter what the first card shows as long as the second card is opposing colour. To me that is a true 1:1 bet. Well close enough (25 wins v 26 lose). Yes there is the issue of a no streak pair being a push, but on most other games it would be a lose. So if this comes up (and it does - every 2 in 25) I simply ignore it and continue with however I am betting.
The 4 times I have played, I have doubled my money (then stopped) 3 times. I lost (stop after 5 straight loses) once.
Anyway, thank you for the analysis, now that I'm registered I'll take a good look around.

It's reminiscent Trente et Quarante, but more simplified.
