Level of play for invites to table game tournies in Vegas

After emailing Total Rewards and not getting a straight answer, I'll throw it to the masses. In order to get invites to blackjack tournaments and other table games tournaments, what level of play is usually expected? For Total Rewards or other properties. Which properties have more/better tournaments?
Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.
