During my most recent trip to Las Vegas last week, I noticed that a lot of carnival game progressives are now a $5 wager rather than $1. At NYNY and Golden Nugget, the only $1 progressive I could find was Pai Gow. NYNY's Three Card Poker progressive was up to over $450,000. Even for a $5 progressive, that's outrageous.

Also noteworthy was the rise in the Michigan progressive, which requires UTH players to flop any progressive hand. Nothing on the turn or river can ever win. Of course they pay more because of that, but with a $5 bet, there's not a lot of fun to be had with that one.

Has this all happened fairly recently?
Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland. And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with. - AxelWolf and Mickeycrimm
